Wil watching over hex considers the note on the bottle. Perhaps it could mean rejuvenate? Reinvigorate?

To Kragg, That assumes they have no rope or other means to safely descend and also that we can smash enough of the stairs to make coming down lethal. If there is someone up there we still leave danger at our back, perhaps a stranded archer at an upper floor window.

P.T. Codswallop, halfling impresario:
Responding to Wil, "Or perhaps it means 'Regurgitate.'" He removes the vial from his pocket and tosses it to the pious monk. "Should we give poor Hex a small draught? Surely it couldn't make his situation any more dire. I still think he would benefit more from a dram of Pickering's Wonderous Elixir." He returns to stand at the ready with his bow.

Luna looks to Osprey. Fire could solve this problem.

Kragg "Sure fire solves all problems... except that we're still in the building and have an injured man to carry about."

Aric, warrior
"Aye, smoke them out I suppose," Aric says unenthusiastically.

I think smoking them out is doable. If the building catches on fire it is still relatively isolated and we weren't likely to stay in this building long anyway. The possible downside to the fire and smoke is that it could draw the humanoids from the forest who bear that same stamp.
Did we see any upper story windows in the tower?

Yes, the upper level of the tower is lined with many windows. From outside the building, the group saw that most of them were broken. From the foot of the stairs you can also see some of the windows on the upper floor. The infirmary and the tower itself are constructed of stone.

Wil offers an alternative maybe we should consider simply going up and exploring the second level? I don't think smoke would bother the undead skeletons we have seen thus far. If anything it would make things worse for us.
Wil will also taste a drop of the potion for any harmful affects before giving it to hex.

I was thinking the tracks on the ground here indicated what was likely above. But yes, we can go up. I can go first if that is the decision. Someone might want to be next to Hex in case we need to grab him and move quickly.
Osprey looks for something on the ground to throw up the stairwell, thinking if it is beasts they will likely react to the object and noise and something else might react as well. When he finds a good projectile he will throw it up the stairwell as high as he can and let it clatter.

Wil, selflessly tastes the mysterious light-blue liquid, he feels no effects whatsoever. The liquid is sweet with a bubbly aftertaste, and his instincts tell him there is nothing harmful associated with this elixir.
Osprey searches around for a loose piece of rubble to hurl up the stairs. He doesn't have to look far to find a fist-sized piece of stone and launches it to the top floor of the infirmary tower. It flies over the left guardrail and lands somewhere on the floor above with a heavy, hollow thud.
All remains quiet on the second floor.

Wil pours the potion slowly into hex. He'll do this in quarter portions and wait a bit to see if any I'll affects. Figuring hex doesn't have much of a chance and the fact the potion was found in the infirmiy...

Kragg abandons the fire conversation and watches over Hex as Wil administers the potion/elixir.

Osprey examines the staircase for stability and safety to use. He will also examine the desk near the stairs.

Plans for smoking out the possible enemies on the upper floor are temporarily abandoned as the group gathers around
Hexalon to see if the mysterious potion has any effect on the injured illusionist.
Wil slowly pours the liquid into
Hex's mouth in small doses, hoping to revive the prestigidator. Although
Hex is unconscious and unable to swallow, the liquid seems to miraculously soak into his mouth and trickle down his throat without choking him. The first quarter of the vial is ingested, and
Hex’s color completely returns to its normal hue. Seeing no ill effects,
Wil administers the rest of the vial. The puncture wounds from the stirges totally heal, leaving absolutely no trace of scarring.
Hex coughs and sputters, his eyes flutter open, and he awakens.
Ospery examines the stairs further and sees that they are still functional; however, they probably cannot support the weight of any more than a couple party members at one time. Taking note of this, the elf then makes his way to the desk beneath the northwest window.
He rummages around through the drawers, finding a number of loose papers and a thick ledger listing the names of various patients, their ailments, and suggested treatments. The last entry recorded spans back to about 50 years ago. There is also a small, tarnished key in the top middle drawer.

Hex coughs and splutters, wiping his mouth and looking up the assembled.
"What happened?" he gasps before remembering the stirges and starting up, looking for a dagger.
Upon being told of what has occurred he grasps the monks forearms tightly.
"I am in your debt good sir, yes yes indeedy"

Osprey looks through the loose pages before putting them in his pack, takes the key and tucks it away in a pocket. So as to not make sound, he gestures that he will go up the stairs first.
He carefully starts up the stairs, checking each step as he goes before putting his full weight on it.
