EDIT: It makes a big difference if we have one or two fighters with us.
His character isn't going to disappear in the middle of the fight, if that's what you're asking.

My general thinking at this point is to move his character off-screen following whatever y'all end up doing with the bandit/kidnapped dude 'quest'. This is all provided Tacitus doesn't die; I'm certainly not going out of my way to do that or anything, but the dice will fall where they may, just as they would with any other character.
That is what I was asking, thanks!

No problem, dude. That would kinda strain a sense of verisimilitude!

When "lost in the dark" started, it applied to characters of people who ghosted in the dungeon. A wilderness encounter with the character of a player who departed the right way (giving prompt notice) is a whole different ballgame, IMO.

Definitely the same sentiment on my part, and I hope it goes without saying.
I do hope that circumstances turn around and he can return.

Okay, I have intentions from two out of three current players, so I'm going to go ahead and update.

Please expect an IC post after [however long it take me to roll stuff out and all].

Okay, I'll need intentions for round three, gentlemen.

In accordance with how I've learned previously, Web does trigger morale checks.

(In the same way that someone under the influence of Sleep counts as a casualty, I hold that a human-strength individual under the effect of Web counts as a casualty for purposes of triggering morale checks.)

Right, if I understand correctly Decimus could move a normal move away from the log and try and enweb the last two woodsmen and hopefully avoid any melee damage. With any luck the bandits morale will go soon.

The magic rules are kind of vague on this, depending on how you interpret them. I read this post yesterday but didn't have a chance to respond. I did flip through the combat order rules, and in fact what you propose would not be allowed*. However, I'm almost positive that I've allowed people (perhaps even you, since we've been gaming together since the '00s) to do exactly what you propose before. Therefore, I'm going to rule that the action you're proposing is valid. I'm probably going to move to the strict book interpretation after this combat, but a.) it does not seem reasonable to disallow an action which I myself have permitted before without prior notice and b.) I'm honestly not trying to disallow everything you're trying to do with your character. :)

(The smiley looks weird on this site)

*Odd that it be would in the combat order rules but not explicitly stated in the magic section(s) either, but whatever.

Okay, you guys won (please see IC; major morale failure on the part of the bandits). Since the characters are slightly younger (roughly 18-22) and somewhat more Lawful than a lot of parties, I wanted to ask before posting: are y'all taking the "free" attacks on fleeing foes? After that, are you riding down any survivors?

Please let me know IC or OOC and I'll post out the rest of round three.

In a single round, no. It does have a range of 180 yards in the wilderness, though, so it could be worth a try for a two-round thing. Given that they're wearing chain, Cadmus would know that they're not going to be moving any faster than 90 at a run.

Hey, it's snowing where I live. The temp is above freezing and the roads are fine (basically just a dusting of snow on the grass and it's turning to water as it falls everywhere else), but I lose power at the drop of a hat where I live due to infrastructure neglect; just wanted to warn y'all that in case I ghost today or tonight, it's because of power or internet loss.

We lost power yesterday for about eight hours :)

Thankfully we had a generator installed last year.

Eight hours?! Seriously? What for? Just rain?

Not even that. It was 50 degrees and clear.

I had some snow last night that did settle till the morning where I live on the outskirts of London but no power outages. Though around
July last year we had a day where the water supply failed. To lose power that easily really sucks particularly in a country like the US.

I wasn't sure if it had even rained yesterday afternoon.

Total B.S.

They need to bury the power lines.

Yeah, I think in the U.S. how well the infrastructure is maintained has a lot to do with where precisely you live. I'm not even talking state vs. state; my partner and I have both lived in different places in the same state that had less money than where we live now, but had managed to bury the power lines, even if it was just downtown or something.

Would I be correct in assuming that in the U.K., unless you live in a truly isolated area, there's a lot less regional variation on how well the infrastructure is maintained?

Okay, glad I paused after all, as I was leaning heavily towards assuming that you'd press the attack on the fleeing bandits.

Yeah, I'm rather shocked that you can have power outages that long just due to weather. (I mean, I remember that big blackout in 2003, but that seemed to be an outlier.)
