Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Elsa, swordslut
Perhaps overconfident in Malibran's divine danger sense, the half-orc swordmistress strides down the hall and around the corner with sword and shield at the ready.

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Doing his best to keep from mentioning that he is a devout follower of a God of Portals; Xale starts to climb over the Pit when he notices his fellow party member down there. Frowning for a moment; he stops and lays down on the makeshift bridge; slides over while holding on to it and then drops carefully to the ground. He then moves to take a gander at the walls and floor of the pit to see if there's anything his Dwarven senses show him that his non-Dwarven companions might have missed in the pit....

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Just to clarify: anyone who wants to do a proper search for secret doors will have to climb into the pit. You can't detect subtle creases in the stonework or sound out hollow spaces behind a wall just by taking a gander from the top of the pit.
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
OOC: Sorry about that! I edited the post above to have Xale drop down into the pit and do a search....
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Abrex says, "I'm going to do a thorough search of each pit for secret/concealed doors, not that I can guarantee I'll find any just that I'll look."
Abrex goes back and checks each pit for any signs. Draft, marks, scrapes blood trails etc in each pit for a possible secret door/hatch in the floor. Abrex thinks, "Lucky lend me your enhanced senses more as a pray than a request."

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Mason, having found nothing of interest in the pit, climbs out. He starts trap-checking his way down the hall. He hasn't made it ten feet beyond the pit when Elsa strides confidently past him, the half-orc swordmistress flush with (over?)confidence. She turns the corner into a hallway that extends as far north as her light will reach.
Xale and Abrex each drop into the pit, deftly avoiding spikes as they do. Xale's trained dwarf eyes immediately spot a secret door in the south wall of the pit. To his eyes, the door is obvious when close up. He wonders how the monk could have missed it!

Elsa, savagesword
Elsa realizes no one is following her. "Pussyfooting grfdmd dawdlers grmblmmbling about..." grumbles the half-orc, walking back to see the latest distraction. She spits into her chair shield, amused at how it disappears.

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
So, you've found a secret door in the pit. Anyone want to do something about it?

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Abrex says, "Mason, come check this for trap please." Abrex gives him some room to work.
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Mason hos down into the pit and deftly goes about trying to find the latch. First he looks at the wall the door is on, searching for interesting or loose blocks. Failing that, he starts checking the floor for switches.
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Xale smiles and nods his head in thanks at his companion's praise. He then calls up to the others; "I believe we have found a secret door down here my friends." He will then ready his weapons and step back to give his fellows rooms to search for traps....
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Mason checks the secret door for traps. Finding none, he looks for a way to open it. A simple push opens the wooden door easily enough.
The door opens into a narrow passage and a set of stairs that lead down to a hallway that turns west with another set of descending stairs after 20'. You enter the passage in marching order, checking for pits and traps on the way. You stop when you reach the second set of stairs. At the bottom of this stairway is a passage filled with mist. The mist is thin near the bottom of the stairs but grows thicker farther into the passage, blocking all vision after 10' from the bottom of the stairs.
Actions?

Abrex says, "I will follow Mason down the stairs as he scouts for traps. I am concerned about the mist affecting our sight though as we may miss something obvious. Lucky you best hop back into my backpack boy."
Abrex thinks to himself, "What did we get into."
Abrex looks around as they come open the secret door and move into the hallway. Does he spot any tracks of any sort that might indicate the area is used much.
Spot checks as we go.

Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Eduardo will ready one of his javelins in case something springs out of the mist...
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
The detect traps spell expired. I try to list spells in effect on my status line.
Re: Ch. 3: Back into the Tomb
Xale will make his way to the front of the group and state; "I still have a dweamor that should allow me to discern if there are any traps in our path." With that; the Dwarven warrior-priest will hold his holy symbol and pray to Dalt....

"Perhaps we could dispel this mist?" Mason says before moving 10' forward.
