Alethan, moving you here: Reap & Seed

wolfpack, I am moving Epsilon here: Bronze Goat Inn: Upper Level (Epsilon only!)

Everyone else, at least for the time being, continues here in this thread:

To the group at large he then continues "I will seek out the Temple to see what in this town causes the hearts of men to shrink and become one with the shadow."
I need to know who stays, and who goes? I know where Gwilt and Epsilon are. I need confirmation from everyone else what their characters are doing.

Ewell is still bewildered by the leader's comments. He remains in place as the rest of his party begins to flee. He asks of the leader, "Again, I do not understand the fear you possess. I have no cause to hurt you. As the other guy mentioned, there is no honor is slaying the lot of you. Now, can you quickly tell me what it is you need protecting from. I am sure I can defeat any particular villian harrassing you this morning.

A snicker is heard from behind the leader; you can't positively identify which local is responsible for it, though. "You must've misunderstood, mister. I ain't the one needing protection. Perhaps it's you that should be wary."

Realizing he's gone ahead and starting rambling again, the leader quickly stops himself. "Again, I think it be best if you follow your friend... or your other friend."

The fearless Ewell is getting really annoyed at this leader's obvious attempts to scare him off. He responds sternly.
Men, you wouldnt laugh if you knew how quickly I would filet you. I demand to know exactly what it is that you are afraid to tell me. I shant go until you provide it.

"Go ahead 'n tell 'em 'bout --" starts one of the locals behind the leader before being elbowed by the local standing next to him.

"There ain't nothin' to say," reiterates the leader. "Nuthin' at all. And while I have no doubt you could run any number of us through before we overwhelmed you, I ain't 'fraid." He defiantly crosses his arms in front of his chest. "You'll get nothin' more from me, 'er any of us." he says, casting a quick, angry look at the local that spoke out-of-turn moments ago.

Kaltar grabs Strom's arm as he goes to move past to the door.
"My friend I think we should make sure Ewell doesn't make any of them suffer too badly and head for the temple after this. After all if we both stay we will get through the last rites that much quicker."
He winks to Strom after speaking making sure the locals don't notice.

Ewell is starting to get rather hot under the collar now (or in this case his armor) and replies, "Man. What type of sinister creature has turned you into a whimpering gelding? You owe it to yourself and everyone here to free yourselves from this thing. I can help, if you just let meh, I mean us.

The defiance continues. The leader remains with arms crossed in front of his chest; he simply shakes his head from side-to-side indicating he is done talking. The rest of the locals slowly begin to follow suit in the arms crossing posture.

Ewell now is getting amused, as much as mad. He secretly respects the idiot leader's bravery. Very well you coward. I do not allow such insults to my honor go unaddressed, and expect full satisfaction." With that Ewell will take off one of his gloves and slaps the leader with it.

Let's see if that works...

Hey!!! He started it...

Actually... I really didnt mean for him to go down this route. But, he cannot withstand such an insult to his honor, and really had no choice. It's part of the code, you know? At least, I think it is. Well, if not, it should be.

Strom stops at Kaltar's request. He is shocked when Ewell slaps the man with his glove. He quickly moves to interceed, placing himself before them and speaking in a loud voice
I am Strom Darksbane, Paladin of the Church. This is Kaltar, Cleric of the Holy Order. I pledge myself to rid you of whatever evil you face if only you will confide in me what ails you. It is clear that you are good people who are under the duress of an outside force.

Brothers, let me aid you, have faith that I will not fail you even if it results in my death!

From behind Garth's waist, Shannigans looks quickly to the side as if deep in abstract thought . 'A paladin?' . Then he begins drawing from the other side of his brain, thinking about what it means to be with a human lord as such. He then relaxes his lips into a confident smile and steps aside, out one step. Looking to the group of townfolk, he says, "Once again we have offered our assistance to you there. Be the wiser and accept our friendships."

Garth follows, clearly shaken by the comments of the locals. Not really sure why, but he is getting the vibe that somethin' just ain't right.

"Let's get this done and be as far away from this hell hole tonight, as possible."

Alordan shakes his head with a sigh. "I told you the people of this town didn't care for strangers. Seems they don't care for a little gratitude either for our help with the orcs...," he trails off with a mutter.

Alordan looks to head off to the store to find some arrows and not leave one of the group to wander alone.

Seeing the conversation is headed nowhere, Shannigans will again go back to shadowing Garth.
