Kainaxarthos

"I see." He glances over to the covered Maxon. "Then I should thank him as well." Kain moves to the body and uncovers the head. "Farewell, friend." Maxon is quickly covered.

If the others share the information that they looted from Maxon: "Huh. He knew people were being taken from the Caravanserai and he still stayed there? And more to the point, kept that from us? I guess it was good that we weren't there, right Ceana? Oh, and let's keep the healing for another emergency. I'm ok. Stiff, but ok."

"I agree. That back room was my reason to come back here anyway. Let's go there. Hopefully, it will prove lucrative. I feel lucky. I mean, relatively."

Ok so let´s go and search room 4, one coffer at a time to get this going? And first search door, floor and roof for jellies :) Start from first coffer to the right then traverse counter clockwise?"

Tuurma

"Let´s go then, but we must avoid these oozes at all costs. If we face another one I say we retreat immediately."

Tuurma is ready to go to room 4.

Cormag hefts his sword, ready to re-kill the undead! I think we should do 4 before looking across the hallway.

Tuurma still had my hand axe when given the 2nd one. So I'm fine if she keeps two or not, just don't want it lost.
Sorry, my bad, meant to borrow only one, so Tuurma will return the second axe.

The Lost Mausoleum
Surviving The Night, Early Next Morning

Kain takes one final look at the deceased Maxon, wondering why the man would have kept such important information about their arrival to himself. He makes a point to discuss this information with the group, once they are in a safe and comfortable location.

Sore from wounds and stiff after a night of sleeping on the hard crypt floor, the group agrees to check through the final rooms before heading back into the Inner City again.

They creep inside the large tomb, past the sand choked doorway and up to the first covered sarcophagus. The lids of these stone vessels have carved faces embossed upon them, and every one of them shows a similar resemblance, likely indicating that this is an ancient family crypt. The shambling tracks lead up to, and beyond each sarcophagi. On the northern wall is a fading uncanny fresco of a green-hued comet; under its sickly light, scores of corpses litter the ground of the carving.

The lid on the southernmost coffin is pushed aside, revealing the now rotting but once plush fabrics of its interior. The next two coffins are unopened, the lid on the one along the eastern wall sits slightly askew.

Letting the others take the lead in opening them he stands ready with axe in hand if more undead are in the sarcophagi. He does a low chant to ward off undead as they go.

Ceana

With her falcata in hand and a spell readied in her mind, Ceana walks quietly into the tomb. She steps alongside Belloc and looks into the southernmost coffin, noting the plush interior, now rotting away. "Must have been where one of the zombies came from, you think?" she whispers to Belloc.

Kainaxarthos

"Interesting. The footsteps go to each sarcophagus. Something has gone inside each one, I wonder why only some came back out." The Cleric is quite comfortable with the remains of the dead nearby, more intellectually curious than anything.

"Oh! And that fresco! Does that mean anything to you? It strikes me as an omen or prophecy. Anyway, let's open one." He points to the nearby askew one. "Careful with that one, maybe push it from a distance."

"Maybe Cormag and Tuurma push it off, and the rest of us prepare to strike if needed? I can try to deal with any undead, but only once today, so a lone zombie isn't the time."

Belloc
walking in to the tomb, Bellock has his sketching book out trying to reproduce the imagery, any symbols and mapping out the position of the tombs from the room; going back and forth between pages comparing some images from torn pages saved in his book when he hears Ceana

"most likely, i'm not sure if the number of opened tombs matches the undead we encountered but the tracks seem fresh, but i think if there was something that could get out from these closed tombs they would have"

The Lost Mausoleum
Finishing The Job, Next Morning

The lid on the first coffin is pushed aside to reveal its contents. Inside is a dead human. The body is in incredibly good shape, considering this fellow may have been in here a very long time already.

Looking down into the coffin, the figure suddenly opens its eyes and starts to sit upright, reaching out with a clawed hand to grab the closest grave robber.

Ceana

The Kelt druid pisses herself...crying out in fright.
"Hells bells! This thing is alive!"

She weakly jabs at the creature rising from the coffin...her mouth goes bone dry and she tries to conjure up a spell, but her mind is completely in "flight" mode.

As the others gang up on the newly risen, Tuurma takes a step back and picks up her handaxe from the floor again (where it presumably was while she was pushing the stone lid). She nervously keeps watch over the other coffins for any additional zombies, hoping her comrades can handle the single undead. Not getting caught between enemies again.

Kainaxarthos

The non-zombie in the sarcophagus throws him for a loop. He immediately strikes with his Morningstar and watches to see if anyone is actually able to wound this thing.

Kain is very wary of higher undead, especially vampires, and he pays close attention to see if it is taking damage.

Morningstar: [1d20]=10

He'll have to notice wounds made by others, it appears.

The Lost Mausoleum
Finishing The Job, Next Morning

The group combines to slash and pummel the rather fresh looking undead monster back into its coffin before it can throttle any of them.

Tuurma decides to stay away and watch their backs instead, aghast to see two more of the coffin lids starting to slide over to the side, revealing some more familiar monsters, the likes of which she has definitely seen before.

Belloc
startled by the sudden increased danger Belloc moves behind Cormac while vocalizing mystical sound patterns, his eyes intently on Cormacs figure and gestures as if pulling an intangible object.
suet begins to bead on his forehead as he hopes to see the effects of his incantation and warns cormac

let your strength grow cormac, don't resist it, let your strength grow

OOC: Casts enlargement on Cormac

Enlargement (lvl1 spell)
Enlargement (reversible)
Lvl: mag 1, wch 1 | Rng: 5 feet per CA level | Dur: 1 turn
Induces unnatural growth in a single object or creature, augmenting ×1.5 the size and mass of organic matter, or augmenting ×2 the size and mass of inorganic matter. Enlarged creatures gain a +50% damage bonus to all attacks (attack damage totalled and then multiplied ×1.5). For objects, the area of effect is limited to 10 cubic feet per CA level; e.g., a CA 10 caster can double the size of an earthen mound not exceeding 100 cubic feet in initial volume. This spell will not increase the magical nature of any object: A portcullis can be swollen shut, a dagger can be doubled to a short sword, but an enlarged potion of healing does not become the equivalent of two potions. The reverse of this spell, reduction, halves the size and mass of a creature or object (no more than 10 cubic feet per CA level). Affected creatures suffer a −50% damage penalty on all attacks (attack damage totalled and then halved). Unwilling creatures are allowed transformation saving throws to resist enlargement or reduction.

Kainaxarthos

"Focus attacks on this close one! They move slowly! If we can't drop it quickly, we move back and regroup."

Kain swings his Morningstar, hoping to bash the crusty zombie before it can get out.

Morningstar: [1d20]=10 And 10 again.
