Getting to the hotel takes a while...Walk to Port Station, 1 stop (2Cr fare), out of the station and then the road is closed because of a murder. You have to walk an entire circle to get to the plaza and then to the side-entrance. As you enter, the concierge steps forward
Mr O'Hare? Sorry to stop you but I was asked to remind you that your documents are at the desk.
This gives you a chance to look around the foyer. It's emptier than normal. Must be the fact that the front-door is closed. You can just hear the clatter of crockery from the bar where you had breakfast.

Indrani nods more naturally. "I understand. We will work to get your people access, and do that as carefully as we can. We're also recording everything, to keep all of our heads where they are. I know time is of the essence, so I won't waste yours."BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 7:31 pm The investigator looks a bit deflated.
He calls Leiberkind.
Best come up to the crew area and help there
Oh Captain, any idea what is in the cabin with the cooked lock? Can your guys get that open? And we'd like to look in that turret too.
And if you disturb anything evidential while you are doing what you are doing, it will be my head.
She turns to Pranit. "Okay, let's try this again. First, none of this is on you; it's on everyone who's trying to run over us. So, I think the crew area is safe enough, but be prepared to evac them, if you think it's necessary. Go make sure that they're okay, and I'll look for more engineers to help me."
Indrani keys her comm for all the ship's crew. "I need everyone with engineering experience to help me aboard the ship. You will need a proper vacc suit, and tools would help, though I have one kit."
Turning to Reven, Indrani looks at him closely. "I think you need a better vacc suit. Are you okay?"

Reven is shivering - a lot. But at least he now looks pink. And he's shifting from foot to foot like he's got pins-and-needles
Indrani helps him open the vacc suit enough to check him out.

Definitely colder than you'd like.

I will retrieve my briefcase of papers from Mr Sabbana and go to my room.
I am not sure of the conference protocol but the first meeting was organised by the Rigsby & Sood lawyers. There was a request for the next conference to be held in 48 hours (though Noor wanted 24). Not sure in the light of present goings on, the earlier date would benefit anyone.
Anyway, he checks with reception to make sure a secure conference suite is available.
He pings a message to Arnwulf "Back at hotel. Still working on arranging a more suitable accommodation for your guest. I will meet up later in the evening."

"I'm sorry, Reven. I didn't think that the suit would fail like this." Indrani finds him a place to sit where it's warm, and looks for someone who can see after him, since she has to get back aboard.

One of the officers is looking after Reven (hot drink) when the call come in...
Control to Delta. Port says the vehicle was scrapped in 298 - which they say is odd as it was only bought in 297.

Indrani suits back up, gathers her gear, and returns to Engineering to continue working. She will start a hull survey, beginning with the cargo bay hatches. She takes the precaution of using a safety tether while checking that the doors are locked closed.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 8:13 pm One of the officers is looking after Reven (hot drink) when the call come in...

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
The cargo bay has a load of broken glass and has been spray-tagged across the walls and door. Some of it is very good quality - most is the usual. There's a load of sofas in one corner of the larger side and a large circle has been laid with a small dais 5m in diameter. There is even a Cr50 note you can see amongst the trash, caught in the container positioners.
Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
Indrani ensures that her suit camera is on and recording, and carefully picks her way to where she can inspect the cargo doors. Her concern is that they're locked and airtight.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 8:26 pm The cargo bay has a load of broken glass and has been spray-tagged across the walls and door. Nālani sends to Indrani: "I have a Suit and EVA equipment, but no tools. I am qualified to work on the Power Plant, and I know the Queen. How urgent is the problem? I am out on business, away from my room."

The doors are seated correctly - no sign from the inside of any issues.
There is a slight bluing of the hull plates (near "Deck" on the plan) possibly sign of a laser hit/near miss

Indrani verifies that the cargo bay door controls are locked to bridge control, and then she makes her way back to Engineering to check the panel for any new issues.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 8:38 pm The doors are seated correctly - no sign from the inside of any issues.

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
The main engineering control panel in Engineering is in the Workshop...all you have is the power panel there and some mechanical backup guages - except the powerplant controls that are on the block on the right of the deck. The main control panels that are available are on the bridge.
The bridge controls are showing all the exterior doors as locked - except that that opens onto the docking bay. It would be simpler to view the ship if the computer was switched on - you really only have the emergency minimum at present and have to manually look up each one.
The environmental controls for the engineering, bridge and cargo bays are showing the pressure coming up quite quickly now the frost is really going.
P.S. The Captain's cabin is still "on fire".

Re: Chapter Two: Queen of the Belt
Indrani settles into the captain's chair on the bridge, and powers up the ship's computer off the Number Two bus. She then begins the process of identifying herself as the captain and formalizing her control of the ship.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 8:53 pm The main engineering control panel in Engineering is in the Workshop...all you have is the power panel there and some mechanical backup guages - except the powerplant controls that are on the block on the right of the deck. "No problem boss, but I appreciate you saying that. I'll go back in and see if the monitors will record without the ship computer up. Then I generate a code to allow access only and leave the master code as you set up. I don't think we have time to set up extra codes for everyone. Afterwards, do you want me to find you or take a space walk for a exterior check. I have a thrust kit and a lot of EVA and tons of safety equipment. Or do you wnat me organizing and watching the police and etcetera."joertexas wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 7:49 pm She turns to Pranit. "Okay, let's try this again.
