Maag grabs up the bamboo pole from the floor and steps off the disk. Then he starts prodding, poking and looking for dangerous stuff as he slowly moves down the hall.

Alordan asks quickly, "Why are you getting off? Do you have a key for that thing??" as he points at the door. "If this does reset, let's go up, grab Andron, and see what he thinks about this now that we know how the elevator works?"

Maag
Maag pauses at Alordan's words.
"Ah. Der key. Yeah. Problem." Maag looks quickly for some kind of lever or stud that would summon the elevator back down. He edges back towards the disk in case he has to reboard it fast.

Lerrick
The cleric steps on foot off. Listening to Alordan she keeps the other foot on the slab, pondering whether to get off or stay on. She has 20 seconds to think about her decision.

I Thought The Ring Was The Key
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid
Peeling their battered bodies out from in between the stone statues on the dais, the group steps off the platform one by one, but stays close to it, just in case.
Alordan remains on the still crowded platform, pointing out the keyhole which he can see in the door. The only word he can make out from a distance is "treasure", so he suggests that everyone stay on the overloaded elevator so they can ride it back up to find their lost leader. Perhaps he will have found something that will aid them.
While Tlachtga coils her thin rope, Maag starts tapping on the floor with his pole, looking for traps that he is certain are not there. After a full 30 second count, the dais, with all seven of its disks still pushed down under the weight of the statues, starts slowly rising back up the shaft again. It starts out very slowly, allowing plenty of time for anyone to re-board. In fact, the grinding of the apparatus's hidden mechanisms gets even louder and more strained, likely from the immense amount of weight that it now must carry back to the surface.

Lerrick
The cleric steps off the platform as well just as it starts to rise and limps towards the others as well.

Alordan considers his options and there are no good ones. The stress of indecision is visible on his face. Damnit!!!
"Gramble - hand me your light stone. I'll stay on the elevator and make sure you can get back - maybe find Andron. I'll lower it again and provide a way out"

Maags moment of indecision is ended by the others stepping off the elevator. "Right den, off we go."
"I fink I've got dat ring 'ere somewhere".
He carries on searching the hallway for trapps as he moves slowly ahead.

Then There Were Four
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid
Lerrick has light, and the minotaur head still glows through it’s sack, so no need for a torch, but you can definitely light one anyway, if you still feel the need.
Gramble tosses Alordan his light stone while he and the others watch their ranger slowly rise up the shaft again until all they can see is the bottom of the platform. A stone ram that disappears into the floor of the shaft appears to be the driving mechanism that propels the lift, but no other parts of it are visible.
For Alordan’s eyes only, please:
With a little less weight on the dais, the grinding noise eases slightly, causing the platform to rise more smoothly. The stone slab at the top of the shaft slowly opens again, and after rising about 50 feet, the dais, statues, and the ranger are all back up at the surface. The entrance into this room is open again, allowing you access to the dark tunnels beyond. There is no sign of Andron, Cu, the kobolds, or anything else for that matter. If you want to go looking for Andron, please make your next action in your private thread. Thanks!
The stone hallway is bare and free of any visible traps. The ever dwindling party of four now make their way towards the door with the strangely large, empty keyhole in its center. The script on its surface looks the same as the warning sign near the lift and reads as follows:
Congratulations seekers of knowledge! For you alone have solved the puzzle of the Medusa’s treasure and are now the rightful owners of her many magical wonders. Insert the proper key to claim your rewards.
