The Chase Is Over
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid

After pocketing the improvised owl pendant, Gramble begins the gruesome task of violently chopping off the head of their now vanquished foe, Brutus. He looks over the beasts weapon as well, finding the double bladed ax to be of normal make, but constructed with a shorter handle and smaller blades, perfect for use in a tight situation like these tunnels.

Once done, the partners try to remember where they saw a carving like the one the minotaur was wearing, with Tlachtga finally mentioning that Cora wore an identical wooden charm around her neck as a holy symbol, the same holy symbol that Sir Crestbrook, the groups oft forgotten paladin took for himself as a memory of her untimely death. But if that charm was made of wood, why is this one made of stone? Could they be they same one? But how.....

Noticing that their map making leader is still absent from the group, the quiet time is enjoyed, but the production and decisions seem to be at a stand still.

Actions?

Alordan will investigate the altar and see if he can find a place the pendant was broken from. "We'll need to stick together - and find our missing friends - before we do anything else with the treasure room."

Maag

" 'e could be anywhere in 'ere," an exasperated Maag says. "Do we really wanna start wanderin' through all dese tunnels again? I mean, I like 'im, don't get me wrong, but fink of all der effort involved. 'e's clever enough, 'e'll work out where we are".

"An' Andron will show up an' all at some point".

"Let's go to der treasure room."

Alordan shakes his head, "Listen Maag - I hear what your saying, but we need 'em. We wouldn't leave you wondering around alone - and you can handle yourself. Let's round him up then tackle the treasure room - maybe he has some other ideas"

While Maag and Alordan argue about the safety of their lost comrades, Gramble and Tlachtga start hauling the nearby minotaur statues into the narrow room with the raised circular platform. Sliding the first statue over the edge and setting it down on the copper disks causes them to recess into the platform, just like Androns experiments earlier. The first statue is large enough to depress 2 of the disks at once, leaving 5 more that are still sticking up. It looks like 4 statues might be enough to depress all of the disks at once, but there is no obvious or immediate result from their efforts.

Alordan looks around the altar area, hoping to find a missing chunk where the owl symbol might have been chiseled out of. He finds no such evidence, noticing that the stone from the altar doesnt match Cora's now stone holy symbol, that used to be carved from wood, that used to hang from around her neck, that Cresty eventually took for his own, to wear around his own neck.

I will assume you all stayed together when heading back to the treasure room.

Tlachtga

"Perhaps something changed and it was so subtle we didn't notice it. Lets re-search the room again now that they are down."

Tlachtga searches the room.

Maag

Maag ponders the situation with the discs."Der are three more statues just round der corner, where Andron dumped dat 'orrible 'ead. Let's drag 'em in 'ere and see if dey cover all der discs. If nuffin 'appens, we can go an' look for Dog 'ead an Wots'isface."

Maag turns to Alordan. "I know 'e's out der on 'is own. But 'e's got a light, an 'e took off runnin' on 'is own, just like 'e did before. Like 'e 'ad a plan to do sumfin."

Alordan shrugs. He's just glad the worst is over. Hopefully. He'll keep watch outside the treasure room.

Showing their lack of quality leadership, the group again seems divided on their next move. Luckily Maag steps in to suggest setting more of the nearby statues onto the platform to see what happens, as long as they are right here.

While the girls have another look around inside the room again, finding that nothing appears to have changed, 2 more stoned minotaurs are dragged into the small room and set upon the dais. Depressing 4 more of the copper disks with the statues, there is no obvious result from this action either, leaving only one more of the copper disks that remains in its original position. The final disk to be depressed is the one closest to the secret door that leads into the chamber.

Actions?

If this seems like stalling, that's because it is.

"Yeah", Maag concurs. "But when we put it on der disk, we need to 'ave a plan in case it's a trap. We can put a rope around it an' balance it over der disk. Den pull der rope from outside der room."
