Andronichishche

Andronichishche is momentarily wracked with indecision as multiple stratagems and probabilities are calculated with incredible speed. The situation was dire and he considered options of extreme personal risk to aid the man who so recenty saved his life. Attempting to thread the needle between risk and foolishness, Andron falls back further into the tunnel just far enough to where he can still clearly see the faerie illuminated minotaur. He avoids stopping in the narrowing part of the tunnel to permit others to pass as needed.

"Lerrick! Invoke the light of Pelor to blind him!", he says, pointing to the hulking figure of Brutus. In turn, Andron traces the sigils and intones the arcane formula for the magic missile spell against the beast.

Magic Missile: [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4

I'll bet dollars to Donkey Kong that is a stone minotaur talisman Brutus is wearing. I also realized something else that's quite different between this minotaur and the first four encountered.

Sorry. Typo. Meant to say it's likely a stone minotaur talisman, not the stone minotaur talisman. We haven't seen it or anything that looks like it before, to my knowledge.

Maag

Maag tries to stay out of Gramble's way. If the Minotaur makes it past the big fighter, he takes a swing.

'arry the Bastard Sword (THACO 18) [1d20] = 5 Dmg S/M [2d4+5] = 4+5 = 9 Dmg L [2d8+5] = 8+5 = 13

Back To The Destroyed Room
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid

Tlachtga moves forward with her scimitar drawn, leaving her torch on the floor. With Andron and Maag blocking her way to the action, she is unable to get any closer, unwilling to push past the half-elf while he is casting a spell. Maag readies his blade in case the monster gets through.

As the two combatants feel each other out, they go from neither hitting the other, to almost perfect blows. The wounded minotaur again swings his short handled ax in an upward motion in the tight tunnel, chopping into the thigh of the stoic fighter. 6 dam Quick to pick up this unusual technique, Gramble follows suit, unable to do much else with his massive weapon in such tight quarters. His blow chops another viscous wound to the glowing Brutus, who staggers back slightly, but still not enough to make way for another to fight at Gramble’s side.

The tiny dart of pure magical energy that shoots from the hands of Andronichishche sizzles down the tunnel, over the head of his comrade, unerringly hitting the minotaur in his large head. The beast roars from the pain, but appears about to attack again despite it.

Alordan and Lerrick remain silent right where they are.

Actions?

You guys can waste all the attack rolls you want, it won’t make the tunnel wide enough for more than one of you to attack at a time. Why else do you think he charged you here?

can someone with a longer weapon like a spear attack from the 2nd rank?

not giving an inch Gramble stands firm

When I kill you I am mounting your head over my mantel

[1d20+3] = 9+3 = 12 +2 = 14

damage [3d4+4] = 11+4 = 15

I would allow that, but being such a tight tunnel with little headroom, a bad roll from them is gonna prove dangerous.

He basically had the same advantage where he ambushed us last time, though. This tunnel afforded us very important features. He could only attack from the rear, and Gramble was wise enough to realize that and moved back to guard it. No other side passages or corners he could ambush from or attack us in the middle. Gramble also had clear line of sight for any attack to prevent surprise. Most importantly, if we had to retreat, I don't think he could squirm his massive bulk through the narrow part of the tunnel.

Andronichishche

Andronichishche is momentarily heartened when Gramble deals a vicious upswing of his massive axe into the ambdomen of Brutus. The emotion is short lived as the minotaur's counterattack dealt an equivalently severe injury to the stoic fighter. Andron knew that at this moment the battle was at a pivotal point. Unwilling to stand by and wait, his resources depleted, he felt honor bound to do whatever is necessary to prevent another of his friends from falling in this forsaken place.

Inhaling a deep breath, he turns about on his heels and races southwest down the tunnel. He grasps the light stone from its bamboo sconce and tosses the pole aside so that he may slide through the narrowed passage unhindered ...

Nada. Used up the clerical spells for healing after the encounter with the killer trees.

Tlachtga

Has no useful spells and no reach weapon to attack with.

She runs back and grabs her torch, then returns.

"Get ready to rush in if Gramble goes down."

The cleric wastes no time in starting the spell, trying to help Gramble gain the advantage over the beast.
Lerrick sends forth a ray of blinding light into the face of Brutus

Maag

Maag waits with his sword, in case Gramble falls. He looks at the long bamboo pole he's carrying as well.

"I could stick dis in between 'is feet. Maybe 'e will fall over it. But it might get Gramble!"

Disappearing Act
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid

Gramble continues to fight the beast alone, again struggling on this tight battlefield. In his own element, haloed Brutus has less difficulty. He slices the fighter again, but this time his armor absorbs most of the cut. 4 dam

Lerrick moves closer while Alordan continues to guard the rear. The priestess intones a prayer to bring forth a magical light, and suddenly the beast is blinded when her illumination appears directly in front of his face. Maag comments about sticking his long pole between Gramble’s legs, but quickly decides he’d better not. Tlachtga retrieves her torch and returns to the others, nearly plunging Alordan into total darkness as she evacuates his area.

Andronichishche, out of spells and sans any long weapons, feels that he must do whatever it takes to help in the fight. He takes off running, pushing past Tlachtga, Lerrick, and even Alordan. Rushing headlong into the darkness while dousing his light stone, the priest of Rao suddenly disappears around the bend into the darkness, vanishing from both sight and sound as if he had forgotten all about the magical teleportation effect tied to these dark tunnels.......or has he?

If you have a healing spell use it on me apparently his AC is better than that of a regular minotaur

We are pretty close to the mouth of the tunnel into the larger cave area. Gramble will try to push the fighting action into the cave so others can join him.

[1d20+3] = 12+3 = 15 +2 = 17

[3d4+4] = 4+4 = 8
