2nd-level barbarians "may associate freely with clerics", so Cruloc will accept healing. He may not be entirely comfortable with it; think a 2 year-old getting a necessary vaccination. At least the group won't have to knock him out à la an airplane-boarding A Team always had to do with B.A. Baracus.

@Ravenn
I'll thank you for the healing because Cruloc won't.

@Inferno
Could you confirm Cruloc base movement? Barbarians get 15", and I don't think he's wearing bulky armour. You have him at 12". It's your call, of course.

Hi Yyrkoon,
On p.27 of the DMG, it says the base movement for Chain is 9", or 3" below maximum movement.
Rather than have Cruloc's movement be 9", I set him at 3" below his maximum move of 15".

Make sense?

Yep. That's the right call.

He's wearing full chain - not half. I went with the bulky full chain because he doesn't get any bonus with a DEX of 13.

If no one took Garrin's +1 sword, Cruloc smash.

It appears there are no takers.

Nice.
Please deduct one torch from your inventory.

If anyone else is carrying a torch, please let me know, and deduct it from your inventory. Thanks.

This ought to be good.

If there were really no takers for the sword, Cruloc rustles up three big rocks: two to lay the sword's tip and pommel on, and a big heavy one to drop on its centre - again and again and again until the blade snaps.

If nobody is going to use the sword, Loche will take it- especially if he sees the barbarian setting out to destroy it. IF we are able to get out of here alive someday, a magic sword would fetch a pretty copper, or be a valuable trade item, and should not be left behind (or destroyed) if the means to take it exist.

Destroying magic items is how barbarians earn experience points.

I figured that, but Garrin would rather let another party member have it then destroy it. But then, Cruloc did call dibs, so......??

In 224 experience points, he'll be 5th level and could choose a weapon proficiency in longsword. :)

This is why we can't have nice things. Our barbarian is always destroying them. :)

The DM rules. It's Loche's sword.

Cruloc's destruction of magical items is an essential part of his class. He needs to do it to advance in level, and barbarians need XP by the shit-ton (=24 metric assloads, or 1/10th of a fuck-ton). Just look at the barbarian's chart!

Throw him a +1 bone now and then. Throw him a +2 bone and you'll soon have a level 4 barbarian who can actually use magical items!

I didn't realize this about Barbarians. :shock: Kiri has a couple of +2 arrows. He never uses his bow. Would that help?

It is hard to think of a narrative reason he'd offer them up, though.
