J&R Research Project
Roy: 67
Joker: 85
Average= 76 different parts are what you have collectively been able to come up with that you need to accomplish this after some back and forth on what can do what and how.
So you figured out already how to make this work with 76 parts.
What is available in the Firehouse now from parts and appliances you can cannibalize to make it?
[1d76] = 39
So out of 76 parts you have found 39 of them in the Firehouse.
Total cost in parts:
Total $7,600 if you buy the parts outright.
Parts $3,900 if you use what is around you.
===========
Net: $3,700 what you would need to spend no matter what.
Or, you can both roll some impossible brains with your specialties and hope you get >40 to get some real Mad Scientist level innovation and I will say you can cobble it together from parts and appliances in the firehouse which you will then replenish outright later.
All that to say you have three options.
Spend $7,600 and build the perfect piece of equipment with brand new parts.
Or use the parts you have readily available, and knock the total you would have to spend on extras to $3,700.
Now... If you and Roy want to really strain your brains, you can make an impossible roll, using your specialties and any amount of Bps you like, to roll 40 or more, and be able to go full-on Egon Spangler and cobble this thing together with stuff around the firehouse MacGeyver Style. There will be zero Cost other than you have used all your spare parts plus some extra later for things like the coffee maker that you took the heating element out of.

Just a heads up: It will take about 12 or 13 d6's to reliably break a result of 40.
Specifically, 12d6 gives you a 66% chance; 13d6 gives you an 83% chance.
(14d6: 93%; 15d6: 98%)

Re: Off Duty 2 (OOC)
Hard to say you can always make more of both but which is in shorter supply? Me I would tend to the cheaper money option, since thats just a paying job or two, as opposed to the to go with 14 BP, thats a couple of jobs but less guaranteed. Also a maybe some clever complain to our southern fried benefactor might get him to absorb some of the cost?

Re: Off Duty 2 (OOC)
That'd be worth a shot. Let's stick to cheaper and see if the benefactor can chip in.

Re: Off Duty 2 (OOC)
it appears nobody was around or listening when Roy said he is not returning to the mound at all unless the place was cleared of snakes regardless of what time of day or night the plan is to go there. So he will likely stay back and help tend to Jason.

Re: Off Duty 2 (OOC)
Since Lionel has been getting experience with the media and doing interviews, and dealing with Ghostbuster equipment, I will spend 30 BPs to gain a die in Cool and 30 BPs to gain a die in Brains.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Re: Off Duty 2 (OOC)
I am liking the back and forth between characters, but I dont want anyone to feel left out or bogged down. If you are ready to jump forward or just get an update that is fine, but I am hesitant to interrupt ic discussions.
Right now we have Roy and Jason catching up on what has been happening.
Etta is on her way to Oklahoma to speak with a Caddo Elder.
Lionel and Mac... ???

Yeah I am ok with whatever, I'm not 100% where teh timeframe of Jason waking up vs everyone but Roy is. I would like him to go with Etta, but I dont know if hes even aware shes up to anything.
