Mac

Mac is horrified at the turn of events. In the blink of an eye, three people fall to the ground.

"Dear Gods! That almost never happens!" He trails off and mumbles a bit. "Maybe there was a wind, or the sand was wet from the shipwreck...."

Mac moves to wake his victims and moves to pick up the dropped pebble.

Zefarrel returns back down to the floor and wakes Elitir, telling the others they can try to rouse the dwarf. She inquires about the future of their enemy. Grossphil suggests slitting his throat and checking him over, but keeps his distance from such physicality.

Mac isn’t sure how it all happened. It never turned out this way in his stories! He nudges the dwarf awake and then races the now visible gnome to the dropped green stone. Picking it up in his bare hand, the mage can feel the slightest of magic emanations vibrating through it.

Zefarrel: If none of you mages has some sort of hypnosis, I say we kill him now. He won't willingly give us any useful information. And leaving him alive is likely to get one of us killed.

Grossphil the Feeble

"As I already said before, we should just kill him. He's not going to tell us what that pebble does, and if we waste our time discussing it the hold spell will lapse and he'll bolt. We can't really afford that. So Elitir, Finnigan just chop the guy's head off and let's prepare our next move."

Elitir will drag the thief in with the other bodies and kill him there. Then she will search him. "Why do I get stuck with the dirty work? Racists!" Grumbles Elitir.

Sprig looks down at his once again visible self. ”Well, That was fun while it lasted. Mac, what do you make of that stone? Does it grant invisibility do you think?”

"Oi!" Finnigan mutters a bit loudly. "Watch out where yer pointin' those spells next time! 'Bout done us in! Bleedin' mages..."

He helps Elitir dispose of the thief and check him for valuables.

Finnigan lets Mac have it verbally after he is awakened, not very happy to have been part of the wizards folly. He and Elitir drag the stiff thief into the cold food room for execution. No monetary valuables are found on the thief, though his armor does look to be of a fairly high quality. He has a few items of interest on him, including a garrote, a sap, and a set of very finely crafted thieves picks. He has a rather plain looking short sword on his hip in an even plainer looking scabbard. His possessions are noticeably lacking for an adventurer.

Mac stares into the tiny green stone sitting in the palm of his hand while the others continue to inquire about it.

It is still quite early on this first day of your visit here. Likely only around mid morning by your best recollections.

"I think someone should check all this stuff for magic. Including his armor and weapons."

"Pardon me! What have we here?" says Sprig. He will help himself to the thieve's tools, examining them closely. If they are clearly better than the ones he has, he'll exchange them. He'll also take the sword and scabbard and examine them for any hidden compartments or unusual marks. Is there a poison reservoir? He'll swing it around a bit to test its balance.

Zefarrel: Sorry, I have almost no magic left. I could do it tomorrow, or does someone else have a detection spell?

Grossphil the Feeble

Grossphil shakes his head (though he realizes no one can see him do so) "I'm afraid I only have offensive magic spells left today and no detection spells. I think we could just take the sword with us and investigate it later."

Grossphil also recalls something one of the thieves said and he turns to Zefarrel, "Zefarrel, do you remember when one of those thieves mentioned something about 'checking the ceiling'? Well perhaps you could levitate up to it and see if there's anything interesting regarding the ceiling? Cause it seemed to me those thieves were simply trying to escape this place and were looking for a new angle: I.E the ceiling."

to Grossphil (well, toward where his voice is coming from anyway): I do remember the thief saying that. Might as well have a look.
Zefarrel levitates up to the ceiling and moves herself along with her hands looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Sprig looks over the thieves picks carefully. They do indeed seem to be better crafted than his own. He inspects the sword and scabbard, not seeing anything hidden on either. The blade feels well balanced, but nothing about it seems overly special.

Zefarell floats up to the ceiling again. This time she pulls herself along its entire surface, feeling for anything out of the ordinary. This takes a bit of time, but the whole thing seems completely solid to her.

Mac cant stop staring at the green gem in his hand. It is as if he is completely mesmerized by it. So much so that he doesn't even speak for a while. ;)

If the plan to stay in here the entire day is still in effect, please let me know if there is anything specific that you would like to do while you wait out the day and night. Thanks!

"If we are going to stay here any longer I think we need to post guards since dead boys brother could be back at any time."

Zefarrel: I agree, but where to place them? There are 4 portals in this chamber and a threat could come from any.

"I say we pack up our bags with what foodstuff we can carry and get out of this room. There's too many dead in it now for my taste." Finnigan says. "Maybe we can find a room that is more secure than this..."

"I agree with Finn. Load up up and move out. This place is excellent for food, but too difficult to defend."
