Ok, so I have my survivalist 3, your 1d of help. Should I use defender against myself for the check? I can see it thematically, but do we need the check?

A check might help for camp, we only have 2, and a bunch of conditions to fix.

You earned one, I earned three, so we currently have four checks by my count. Extra checks are good if we can afford the risk... It would allow you to make a poultice to help recovery, for example. (I don't think Allric will make them, otherwise.)

Cool! So that's five checks?
Aiofe is Afraid.
Allric is Exhausted.
Allric is Injured.
Everyone is Hungry.
Hopefully, Allric can brew the elixir to get Aiofe unafraid. The dice are against it, though.
First check allows Rabon to cook everyone a meal. Or, we eat five of our six remaining rations since we're near the end of our journey and free up two pack slots.
Allric has 2D vs Ob3 and Ob4.
Berry can make treat Allric's injury as an Ob3 instead of Ob4 with his 3D Healer skill, but with the risk that Allric loses a permanent 1D if it fails.
Berry can do an Ob1 Healer test to make a poultice for Exhausted, giving Allric 3D vs Ob3.

Regarding for: if Rabon fails (which I am hoping for so the skill advances) we should be irritated to drink water to get rid of Hungry/thirsty.

I would have liked to do a Scout test so I could advance the skill, but it can wait until time.
If there's an available Check, I'd like a chance to build a trap, so I could spend a Fate point to reroll a failure, the only thing I have left to get to level 2. I could set a trap here in case the kobold come back while we're out. Or trap the door while we're resting - I'm think using my rope to make a net and trip wire over the door.

Anyone want to try and work a deal? If not, Rabon votes for a drive off conflict.
Does that we miss our camping and lose all checks? Or is this prior to us settling in?

Basically, I don't know. I'm looking into it, but right now, here's how I'm playing it.
You can try to drive them off with a single Test.
Anything other than that loses your camp and checks.

Well my instinct is talk before fighting breaks out. Could I try to persuade, maybe call on touched by the gods to pierce the language barrier and help convince them to leave?

It seems like we get one check regardless of approach, although note is given to the amount of ‘room for interpretation’ these rolls have for the GM.
Aoife is a good fighter, and she’s wise to treacherous bastards, if you want someone to just muscle them away.

If Berry wants to try to talk to them, he certainly can, though they probably won't understand his words, so the test would be harder.

It would let me instinct fire for post game, and it's a free test, so let me know the skill I'm allowed to use, and I'll try it.

I guess the Skill would be manipulator. It's an opposed Test vs their Nature (+1D evil GM factor and +1D help). So they will be rolling 4 dice.
