Fendt wonders WTH just hit him in the head.

Iluq, Bragar, Castran, and Fendt respond quickly to the surprise attacks from Agrippo, Melampus, and Tumbler.
Bragar drinks a potion and disappears. Melampus swings at the space where Bragar just stood, but he flails only air.
Fendt takes a defensive position and backs away from Tumbler, not wanting to attack his friend, or perhaps unwilling to believe that it was really Tumbler who stabbed him in the back. Tumbler drinks a potion.
Iluq jumps back, away from Agrippo, yelling out, "Agrippo! Get a hold of yourself!" He looks at the others, despair quickly coming over his face as he yells out to all that would still listen to him, "They have been charmed! Those that went into the carriage house cannot be trusted!" The dark elf's wild attacks don't even come close to striking blows. Fortunately for Iluq, Agrippo's counterattack is even less effective. His spear misses Iluq by three feet and lodges firmly between two stones in the wall separating courtyards. Agrippo puts his foot against the wall and struggles to pull his spear out of it. (Critical miss! Agrippo can recover the spear and get one attack next round, or he can switch to the Sunsword and attack normally).
You don't see what the invisible Castran does.
The rats continue attacking Iluq. One rat manages to find a hole in his armor. (-1 HP). Many more rats swarm the sleeping Robert, who convulses then falls silent.
Actions in PMs, please!

Our heroes—the ones who have not been charmed, anyway—again make the first move.
Fendt drinks a potion and disappears. Tumbler stabs his dagger ineffectively at the space where Fendt just stood.
Iluq swings his hammers at Agrippo, but the strain of fighting his friend takes its toll: the hammer in his right hand slips from his grasp and lands fifteen feet away. A rat manages to bite him (-2 HP).
Agrippo retrieves his spear and circles the courtyard, keeping his back to the wall. Banging his spear against his shield, he taunts Iluq. "Come my little dark friend, let us dance together." Agrippo finds an opening and thrusts his spear though a gap between bands in Iluq's armor. Iluq falls to the ground unconscious, blood spurting from the wound (-12 HP).
Bragar's voice calls out, "Everyone bring our charmed friends together in the same area so I can cast Dispel Magic upon them!"
Melampus reaches into a bag and pulls forth a small furry ball. He tosses it to the ground in the direction of Bragar's voice. The ball expands into a skunk.
Castran remains unseen.
The rats finish their meal of Robert. The druid is no more.
The situation is even more dire than before. Iluq is down. Agrippo could slay him with a single stroke next round if no one acts to prevent it. Even if someone does prevent Agrippo's coup de grace, the rats could still do the job. The uncharmed heroes who remain standing—Fendt, Bragar, and Castran—are all invisible. Melampus and his skunk are near where Bragar recently stood, and Tumbler just saw Fendt vanish from in front of him.
Will our heroes try to break the others of their ensorcellments, or use their invisibility to escape with their lives?

Agrippo, Tumbler, and Melampus take a narrow but devastating edge in initiative.
Agrippo stands over the unconscious body of his friend Iluq. The warrior's eyes are strangely blank as he raises his spear with both hands and brings it down through Iluq's chest. Blood spills from the cleric's mouth. His body twitches violently for a moment then falls still, its life gone.
Melampus tries to find the invisible Bragar. "Find the invisible one!" he commands his skunk. Neither can find any sign of an enemy to attack.
But then they hear Brgara's voice chanting the words to a spell. Melampus recognizes it as a prayer to dispel the magical charm Helga put on other party members. He rushes towards the sound of Bragar's voice and swings his flail at it. He hits! Bragar's voice falters, his spell ruined. The skunk turns tail and sprays Bragar with a stinky musk. Bragar remains invisible, but can be detected by his smell. (Bragar: -6 HP)
Tumbler looks and listens for Fendt, but the invisible half-elf remains quiet. Castran likewise remains unseen.

Iluq's fall and Bragar's failure to lift Helga's spell from Agrippo leave our few remaining heroes with little choice but to flee. Fendt and Bragar turn and run for the castle's front gate. Castran still clings to the portcullis, waiting for Agrippo, Tumbler, and Melampus to pursue the others. But Tumbler remains where he is, looking for any sign of Fendt. Agrippo turns from Iluq's now rat-covered body and starts poking his spear at the portcullis above the shining weapon Castran dropped. Even Melampus, who could follow Bragar from his stench, shrugs and looks toward the east.
With the outcome of the fight now certain, Agrippo, Melampus, and Tumbler are now converted to NPCs. The rest of you, please resume posting actions here in this thread.
Anyone whose character is dead or charmed, feel free to start rolling a new character (and please tell me if you are).

Castran will drink his potion of Polymorph self and hop through the bars as a small invisible bird and fly into the carriage house, perching on a rafter to observe what occurs within.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
"Hmmm no body, but another nice shiny to add to my collection", Agrippo would pick the sword up and sheath it in his waist belt....seeing no adversaries and Tumbler and Melampus fine, I guess Agrippo would lift up the rusty gate and drop it behind him, return to the carriage house?
unless Agrippo and others can be redeemed then that is his last action from me for now...
PM sent to Zhym with updated stats and character/ eqpt list' for him.
OOC: sorry Monkey Wrench, I searched Agrippo's inner soul and all the DMG's/PHB's to find redemption from sticking your character with the pointy end but in the end the DM's charms and those Helga green eyes! where just too powerfull!!

Fendt and Bragar reach the front gate of the castle. Before them is an arched entrance tunnel 40' long and 20' wide. The end of the tunnel is blocked by a raised drawbridge. Green lichen clings to the stones of the tunnel overhead.
-----
Back at the courtyard gate, Castran drinks another potion, which mixes safely with the invisibility potion he quaffed a few minutes ago. He starts changing into the form of a small bird. Near him, Agrippo retrieves the Sunsword.
Even as Castran is shifting forms, a large light-haired bat flies in from above and hovers in front of Agrippo. Its wings extend into arms; its legs stretch down to the ground. After a moment, the bat has transformed into Helga.
The vampire jumps up and down and claps her hand like a giddy schoolgirl. "Oh my! That was fun!" she squeals breathlessly. "I thought I was going to lose you when the dwarf priest started chanting, but the ugly priest sure stopped that in a hurry! Come back here, ugly priest! You too, dwarf. We don't need to worry about your friends anymore, do we?" She kicks Iluq's head as if to emphasize that last point.
Helga looks up and puts a single finger to her chin in an exaggerated pose of thought. "What will I do with you boys now, hmm? One lady and three strong boys—such fun we could have," she says with a lascivious wink at Agrippo. "Or maybe you could fight each other now? Oh, but that would hardly be fair, would it? You big warrior, you would kill the other two almost instantly. Where's the fun in that? The drama? You have to have tension for a good drama, don't you?"
Her demeanor changes from schoolgirl to matron. Her voice drops a register and shifts from sing-song to matter-of-fact. "Okay, pets, it's time to play inside. Warrior, pick up the cleric. Ugly and short, you two grab the treehugger. Let's go see Daddy Strahd."
She turns toward the portcullis.

You see two gate towers on either side of the entrance tunnel. The doors to both are closed.
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Bragar Will search for the lever to drop the drawbridge also.
