Can we retreat into the 10' corridor the ur-orcs we were just fighting were in? It'll restrict how many of them can attack us at once.

This, too.

Sorry it's taken so long to respond. Yes, you can retreat into the corridor.

We'd definitely better pull back into the corridor.

Fine with me.

Are the front line safe from death if they take another round of hits from the ur-orcs?
Vanco's intent is to see if one or two ur-orcs stuck with hold person will significantly delay them from attacking. Or at least give the party a chance to leave.
Slightly concerned about what's coming from behind (the guard room) but the ur-orcs are a major problem right now...

If Sleep won't work on the ur-orcs, Quint might get ready to cast it on whatever bugs are approaching. Alternately, better idea, somebody throw some flaming oil back there.

The front line are not definitely safe from death - Thurgan is on 12 HP, Rhys on 8HP. Going to be tough against these unless killing another takes their morale down.

I don't think any of us are comfortable with the idea of being pincered. Can we all be faster than the ur-orcs if need be? There might be merit in retreating, trying to Sleep the bugs, and just high-tailing it out of here.
Alternately, Tev can launch himself into the front line with ferocity. He's 31 HP fresh and has an unused CLW in his sword. It's conceivable he could hold the line long enough to turn the ur-orc morale, though he'd probably need for Thurgan to hold up as well unless Vanco took a turn up front with Tev. Or Severi, if he wants to spend his images distracting ur-orcs while he and Tev do their best to kill them.

We definitely need to get Rhys off the front-line. If Vanco get a hold person against the ur-orc facing him, that might be us some time. Maybe even enough to run and avoid being pincered.

PS. Happy with Vanco taking a step up to the front line to do so, or simply to wade in with his hammer.

Let's see if the Hold Person can work, though I'm uncertain that Vanco has LOS at the moment.

Now that he has Mirror Image up, Severi should be able to tank for a couple rounds. Can I get a roll on that TK?

1d4=4
I wanted to wait on posting IC once I've heard from everyone who wants their character (in the rear ranks) to act during rounds 6-8. So far Severi is going to cast Mirror Image. Vanco can have line of sight only if he takes the place of Severi or Tev.

If Severi's going to tank for a couple of rounds and Tev is still fresh, do we run that for a round or two? Then depending on the outcomes, we'll push Vanco forward to get LoS.

Let's get that Hold spell cast as soon as possible.

Who's currently standing behind Rhys?
If Rhys can pull back and be replaced by either Severi or Tev, Vanco could move into Tev's spot and cast Hold Person over Thurgan's head. Assuming that works, we might have time to reposition ourselves entirely, slay one Held ur-orc as an opening and leave the other one Held there to narrow the corridor (assuming the others don't drag it out of the way).
It will probably be easiest, though, if we just give 5' of ground by having both Rhys and Thurgan retreat through the second rank, leaving Severi and Tev as the new front rank.
There's the still the stuff behind us to contend with, though. Can Bruno and Quint lay down oil and be prepped to light it? Didn't those things shoot immobilizing stuff at us last time?

Hopefully my intent for Vanco's clear enough. He can move forward and cast hold person; or move forward and fight, or let others fight.
In the meantime, I may be away from a decent network for around 24 hours -- visiting people who have no Internet connection in an area with barely working 2G....

My understanding of the current formation is like this:
Rhys | Thurgan
Severi | Tev
Everyone else.
There's essentially three rounds for folks in the back ranks to jockey around, so my understanding is as follows: I'll allow Vanco to slip forward and take Severi's spot, which will give him line of sight on at least half the remaining ur-orcs. This can happen, let's say, during Round Eight. I'm actually not sure how Mirror Image would work when cast in a confined area. Like, do the four summoned images essentially take up one spot each in formation, or can they occupy less space? The first paragraph of the spell description read as follows:
This spell creates 1d4 duplicate images of the caster which follow the caster’s every move and shift into and through each other.
To me that implies that if Severi were to cast it, and then moved into the front rank, the images would essentially spill out to fill whatever space became available.
So, my only question is whether Tev or Severi trades positions with Vanco to allow the casting of
Hold Person.
