Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
I forget, are you allowing clerics to replace current spells with a cure light wounds? Or am I thinking of other games?

Must be other games. Clerics get what they prayed for.

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
Fendt after his magic scan relays to the others "Well that helps all of the weapons in this room are of a magical demeanor. We have some new weapons but best to have someone check for evil incase once or more are cursed." he pauses then starts to speak again "As for the treasure I don't care we can deal with that after we kill Strahd. We also have to locate this missing Ireena that was once with the original party before I was found by them." he then turns back to Iluq "I am glad you are with us again cousin."

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
Bragar- Hello Iluq, I am Bragar cleric of the goddess Heala Brightaxe. As stated before any enemy of this Strahd is a friend to me. Ireena I believe this is the first time I am hearing this name. What happened to her if I may ask?
I say rest here. With a double guard if possible

Weather: Light rain
Moon: Full
Location: Castle Ravenloft, Treasure Vault

You stand amidst Strahd's treasure hoard. Some of you try to calculate how much equal shares would come to. Others, showing remarkable altruism, talk of giving some of the money to the people of Borovia. Robert is among those who suggest sharing the treasure with the town—a surprising position for a druid to take, to say the least. He also suggests that Tibbius use the other antidote. Tibbius laughs like a madman and again says words that make you wonder if he has a death wish.
Castran takes a look at the gems. The gnome is easily able to identify the gems and estimate their values in gold:
Fendt quite reasonably points out that there will be plenty of time to divide treasure when (he has the good grace not to say "if") Strahd is defeated.
You also mull over whether to pick up the weapons. Fendt's spell showed them to be magical, but what sort of magic? He suggests checking them for evil. A somber look crosses his face as he realizes that Vorkath could have done so with ease. Castran suggests that the holy men might augur the nature of the weapons by asking their gods.
Fendt tells his new comrades—and reminds the others—of their need to retrieve the missing Ireena, if still possible. Bragar asks who Ireena is (or was?) and what happened to her.
Although most of you awoke seven or eight hours ago, and a few arose from forced slumber much more recently than that, you talk of resting here. Your wounds are not light, and rest would surely do you good. If it is possible to find respite in the house of Strahd, surely it would be here, in a room that seems to have but one exit, hidden behind three secret doors. But you have encountered opponents for whom walls were like whispers.
Castran approaches the tome of Strahd and turns the cover...
To be continued in the next post!

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
Castran carefully opens the ancient tome. Its deeply yellowed pages are of parchment and very brittle.
Most of the writing has faded with age. That which remains is written in symbols none of you recognize. For Tumbler, however, who wears a Helm of Comprehension, the writing resolves into words he can understand:
Turning the page, Castran and Tumbler find another passage:
A few pages later:
The rest of the journal is illegible or uninteresting, with the exception of one last entry in fresher ink:

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
oo interesting!! says the gnome listening to Tumblers account.
One of us has a ring? Do we know whom? And what of this sword? This vampyr fears it's power. That's a good sign of ever there was one in this dark place. This madam Eva whomever she is is a right old tattle tale, shopping us to Strahd. What a witch. So are we for taking this gear or not. The gems I estimate are valued thusly! Well done on the translations Tumbler! he says clapping the dwarf on the back.
So are we resting or not here. Castan will take a few gems of the more valubable kind if everyone else is skittish. If the consensus is rest he will first take a lit torch and cast Alter Self into a gargoyle, and scout above in the bell tower, burning the webs as he goes. If we are moving on he will save his spell. I don't suppsoe either Tib or Tumbler will lend the gnome their enchanted dagger if they aren't using it? Robert, can't you scry for Ireena in a reflecting pool spell?

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
Fendt "The sword I have good feeling is the sunsword our Agrippo has in his possesion. That is good we will need that to kill Strahd. The ring however I don't know as I was not with the original group in the tavern. Ireena's tale I too don't fully know as I again was not with the members here that started in this castle with her among them. Robert, Iluq, Tumbler, Tib and Agrippo would be those living able to recount the tale. Perhaps one of them knows of the ring in which is mentioned in the passage. I do hope it is not with Ireena."

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
"Everyone check your rings for anything relating to Amarra inscribed on it. Perhaps it may not be a ring on a finger but something perhaps like a ring a circlet or similar to hold a cloak on. Did the paladin have a ring on or any of the townsfolk perhaps asks Robert? I suggest resting my friends we are wounded and evil/undead is stronger in the night time I believe."
Robert checks his gear and that of the paladins gear respectfully and cautiously with help.

Tib
I have no rings and have checked my other possessions for anything ring-like and have found nothing that seems to fit that discription.
Anyone else?

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
Melampus says, I have nothing of that description on me. I feel that the chance that we already possess it doesn't ring true. Perhaps it is among other treasure in this dank place.
Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
i have an enchanted ring I believe. the gnome says unsurely. He does. A ring of water walking. He will inspect it for the markings.
OOC: i think he does. But the unseen servant character generator isn't trsponding so I can't be sure.

Re: 6. Dawn of a New Night
"No ring on my finger" (Agrippo holds up hand that has no rings) he has a shiny ring on the other hand, "seems as if Madam Eva swings to both sides, perhaps this Strahd forlorn lover and dope he is thinks young Ireena is the lady of his passion, remember the portrait we passed by."
