Montego
likes to kill orcs!
Attack w/ 2 Handed Sword [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16 Damage [1d10+5] = 3+5 = 8 +2 on dam for Orcs
Horse trample [1d20] = 3
(only Titus has a horse who tramples) GM
OK, wasn't sure on that one.

Does Baruch have a visual of how many orcs are still jumping about in the vicinity ? This might influence his decision on how to continue fight

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
After the sleep spell Baruch feels good. He sees, 4, 5 perhaps 6 orcs fighting the ferry crew -- hard to count. There are the 4 orcs intercepting the riders. Baruch sees a couple unarmed females and children.Nordbo wrote:Does Baruch have a visual of how many orcs are still jumping about in the vicinity ? What could have been TPD (total party destruction) looks OK now.

Baruch saves the oil flasks for another crabman BBQ in the future and runs ashore swinging 'Ralf' instead, at the nearest available wartface: Hammer to hit: [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21, damage vs S/M opp: [1d4+2] = 1+2 = 3 / damage vs L opp: [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4

Sanu charges an orc of the flank-protecting variety (still mounted), and drops the black axe blade on him/her:
Attack: [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16 Dmg: [1d8+4] = 3+4 = 7

Orc Ambush
Round 2

Titus and Montego followed by Sanu and Svent charge down the river bank where they are met by 4 Orcs spilling forth from the woods.
Titus charges forward, employing his spear as a lance. He charges one Orc with his horse and directs the spear at another. The Warrior of Westmarch pierces an ocular socket and has a difficult time removing his spear from the skull of an Orc while turns his horse for the next attack.
The big warhorse Titus rides scares an Orc so that he moves directly into Montego's sword. The ranger briefly lets loose the reigns, swings with two hands, and decapitates yet another unfortunate Orc.
Sanu, only seconds behind, chases a 3rd Orc, who tries to avoid the barbarian to no avail. The obsidian blade smashes through a collar bone and snuffs out a 3rd life.
Svent will not be out-done. His magical bolt sends the 4th Orc flying backward. He lands with a thud and never even twitches.
These 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse have quickly and unexpectedly destroyed the Orc's flank defense.
And just in time, more Orcs spill out of the woods.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the ferry on the shore, the action becomes desperate.
Five Orcs confront the party on the ferry. Gog and Magog emerge from the water on either flank, to make 7. Two Orcs emerge from the woods, their clothing and armor finer than that of the others. These 2 are obviously leadership. The count is 9. On the shore a female Orc attempts to wake a sleeper. Three immature Orcs retreat in the direction the leaders came from. 2 Orcs lie dead before the ferry.
3 of the 10 sleeping Orcs have been trampled and begin a awake (will attack next round).
Calen leaps over a corpse, onto the shore, and swings his halberd too wildly. Gog comes to defend a friend. He jabs Calen with a spear (-4hp). The first time Calen was ever injured by Teutonic Obsidian. Gog has a barbarian weapon.
Calen deflects yet another blow but when the Chief arrives late in the round Calen is wounded by his own weapon of choice. Calen's hip is stabbed deeply by the dagger point on a rune covered halberd (-9HP) (-13total).
Calen calls his wolf, Freki into action. Freki must have missed a meal or two. The wolf latches onto an Orc neck and will not let go. The wolf and Orc wrestle -- blood and fur and a tumble down the bank, into the river. Freki emerges from the water with a bloody dog smile.
Calen is toe to toe with Gog and the Orc Chief!
Baruch leaps off the deck, lands squarely on his feet, and makes an Orc skull concave. It drops its axe and assumes the fetal position. Magog seeks revenge as he too swings a hammer. Magog thuds Baruch on the back as the priest attempts an evasive maneuver (-6hp). An Orc drops a crossbow, draws a sword, and slashes Baruch again! (-2 hp) (-8 total). A third blow is deflected!
Fredricus and Garrett meet behind the wagon (+4ac) where they take cover and return fire.
Garrett peeks up and, thunk, thunk, drops an Orc. Fletchings protrude, pointing toward the sky.
Fredricus launches magical energy into a charging enemy. His target drops too.
The Orc sub Chief jumps onto the ferry, then the wagon, and swings downward at Fredricus the mage (-6 hp). Garrett has an all too good seat for the action. He's the next target!
Fredricus has been neutralized (0 hp)

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
alright well I thought switching weapons would use up my round so ...... Dagger to the eye maybe.... now the roller will screw me on hit rolls just watch.
Garrett Dagger to the orc face Dagger[1d20] = 15 Dmg[1d4] = 1 Lrg Dmg[1d3] = 2
unsure if dagger melee is 2 attacks or not only able to locate for ranged so far.
Dagger[1d20] = 6 Dmg[1d4] = 3 Lrg Dmg[1d3] = 1
(GM. Gm is thinking about adopting point blank rule -- must research, stand bye)

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Tried to roll but my phone wouldn't let me see it, page freaked out on me so I just rolled again from my computer, not sure what the other one was but this one is a failure so take whichever one you want. Dice roller is trying to kill me.... and succeeding...
Calen grunts in pain but smiles under his helm, the closer to death he gets, either by being hurt or doing the hurting, the more he feels alive. He swings again, this time towards the orc chieftain, he want's to take on the stronger opponent.
Halberd(Specialized): [1d20+1] = 10+1 = 11, Damage: S/M[1d10+5] = 4+5 = 9, L[1d12+5] = 4+5 = 9
Freki also notices Calen's wish and takes on Gog to give Calen a one on one fight, lunging towards the orc.
Calen's Wolf: (HP 16, AC 7) To Hit: [1d20] = 2, Damage: [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4
NOW EVEN FREKI GETS MY CURSE?!?? Aruman! We beseech you!!

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Sanu sees Calen ganged up on by an orc leader and a half-orc with no armor. He decides to try and get the #s in their favor by taking out the easier target that is Gog. He rides to that skirmish and swings on Gog:
Attack: [1d20+3] = 11+3 = 14 Dmg: [1d8+4] = 1+4 = 5
AND AGAIN:
Attack: [1d20+3] = 11+3 = 14 Dmg: [1d8+4] = 7+4 = 11
Glad I went for Gog. Probably would have nearly missed the tougher fighter.
