Innana the Fighter:

Whow. So much goes on when I log off for a bit.

First off I am sad to see Tratiln leaving. I would rather see him stay, and get the sword than have you go. You have been here longer than Innana, and you will be missed. I am sorry to see you leave because of personal matters, and time constraints , I understand your choice though. I thank you for the sword. Innana will definitely put it to good use. The runes on the blade really make it all more appealing for our red headed Northerner.

Secondly, thank you once again Lanny. You helped me level. I bet you did not even realize it did you? (Wink). This is better than a birthday.

I am really having fun having Aquars character in our group. So creative. Merman, is that a language? How fun would that be? To see Merpeople. Why not? We might soon meet some Were-beasts. I am excited to get on with future adventures.

Innana the Fighter:

Hi TK. Put a new character sheet for Semele n the Henchdude and Hirelings section. Also updated her HP.
Thank you for allowing the credits so I could level. When you get a momen could you roll for HP for her new level?

Nice roll indeed! Innana is now ready for the front line alongside Thordin. Don't forget about your +1 addition to BAB as well as your weapons feat. (I think it takes 16 hours (2 full days) to become skilled in sword... not sure we can afford to wait that long due to the urgency of the problem of the Beast. We will know more after speaking to Jaceo.)

Also, for the sake of TK's sanity, let's try to keep the group together in one place if possible.

Oh ok. Updated that. Good eye Lanny.

Ok the girls will stick with the whole group. Guess Innana can't surprise Lanny with his new cape that he has been wanting.

Agreed. The game tends to start bogging down when we spend too much time just milling about in town. Might be better to get our potions and be on our way to slay this beast terrorizing the logging camps.

Also keep in mind that the Beast does not exist in a vacuum. I am rolling daily to determine if it kills again and/or is killed by another party.

Nah, the Beast will just rip it to shreds anyway. Once the Beast has been defeated, Innana can go out and buy Lanny a new cloak. Oh, and a new purse, too, please.

Hahaha. I know, I know, and shoes too.

Ok. So, It looks like we had better get on with this beast hunt. How long were we planning on staying in Threshold?

Al-
If you don't mind, could you move the character sheets for Marodin and Tratiln from the "Character" Thread to the "Lost in the Dark" Thread? Thanks!

There is also an old copy of Semele's character sheet (under sulldawga's name) which I suppose could be removed as well (under "Henchdudes and Hirelings").

I actually really like the way that magical items are introduced into this campaign (with each item having not only certain powers but also often a unique history as well). One thing I have been doing is recording the histories of the items (as told to us by the sages who research them) on the Custom/Unique Items thread. Sometimes the history reveals a fun fact, a brand new plot hook, or even something critical to our current mission. For that alone, it is worth paying to get them properly identified (although, as you rightly mention Al, we might have an immediate need for another magical weapon or two in our upcoming fight with the Beast).

Anyway, kudos to TK for coming up with all of these cool items and their histories.
(Moving the conversation out of the IC thread...

I completely agree, Frobozz! I love the additional details; it makes the game that much more fun. It's just not something I'm used to doing or having, is all.

I'm all for having him try and translate the text on the sword, if that is something he can do before we have to leave, by the way. Even having that information may provide some clue as to its purpose.

So, there's totally nothing stopping you guys from using magic items without having them identified. Or you can ID them using the Analyse spell.

But going to a sage has the following advantages:

100% accuracy.
History and plot hooks. I hate the idea of mass produced "sword +1s"
Total knowledge of what the item can do.

Plus, it is a good way for me to suck money away from you guys. ;)

The only drawback is that it takes time.

Maybe you haven't heard, but there's a wild creature attacking lumberjacks out there, man! No time to lose! ;)

My sentiments are a similar to Alethan's when it comes to magical arms and armor. It is nice to eventually know the capabilities of the items being used, but to hold off on using something until it is completely identified takes some excitement away from game play. If we could use the items first, get some experience with them, and then later have them identified, that would feel more natural. (Kinda like when Gandalf and Thorin Oakenshield found the swords, Glamdring and Orcrist. They were using them before the swords were completely identified.)

Concerning the items we will being picking back up from Myraal.....

Carved Spear -- Bregalad would like to start using it now.

Runed Sword -- I believe Innana would like to use this now (and is acknowledging Rhys' claim to the Duke's sword, should we succeed in slaying the beast). Did I get that right, Innana?

Magical Plate Mail -- Bregalad wanted this badly, and quested specifically for this item. However, he sees that Aquar's situation (at this time) is actually worse than his, namely his effectiveness in melee will be very limited due to his low hit points. So, Aquar, if you wish for the armor, then Bregalad will gladly defer to you. Otherwise, Bregalad will claim it as his own.

Bregalad is all for having the items identified by Myraal at a later time, when things have slowed down a bit.

Thank you thats so generous, but Aquar can't accept. He just met you, and you quested for it, and I need to earn it, and most of all, it probably won't fit  But you're welcome to stand in front of me during battles. Aquar will just try to be careful and not get himself killed in one claw-stroke.

Bregalad the elf

Bregalad will take the magical plate mail and runed spear, and will wear and wield these items.

(His old armor and the silvered spear will be kept on his horse for now.)

Character sheet updated.
