Taking better assessment of his range
Saul throws caution, and an arrow, to the wind and shoots anyway to intimidate knowing he'll hit nothing before he runs into range.

Rhys the Traveler
Now that
Rhys is in a better flanking position, and at the long range for his bow, he slides off his pony and approaches the gnolls to try and reduce his distance between them while staying out of their range. He will move in as far as he can without getting into their shortbow range and still be able to get a shot off this round.

Drudsa the dabbler will stay where he is, hoping his companions will finish the gnolls quickly.

Bregalad the elf
Bregalad will remain on his horse, and take the left flank (the opposite flank of Rhys), attempting to cut off escape. The elf will stay outside of bowshot, if possible.

Marodin will move in on his horse, looking to see how the gnolls react. If they run, he'll pursue. If they stick around to attack, he'll close to around 30 feet and dismount for melee action the following round.
"Semele, close to sling distance and attack from there, if you will. Disengage and assist any of our wounded, if necessary."

Innana the Fighter:
Innana rides in on Bliss and will dismount around 20 feet before she reaches the gnolls, and draws her sword, and take her shield. Innana will have her net with her tied to her hip.

Round Two
Lanny and Saul fire arrows; both miss, Saul's shot bow clearly not providing the needed range and Lanny's simply going wild. The two gnolls still standing begin kicking their companions awake, who respond groggily. There is still confusion amongst the adventures: Marodin and Semele continue to charge forward. Marodin closes to within several dozen feet of the gnoll campsite while Semele stops a bit further away. Innana and Tratiln kick their mounts into a gallop and manage to halve the distance between themselves and the gnolls. The other advance only about a quarter of the way and ready their bows to fire.

Saul keeps advancing and tries another shot now that he is in range, targeting the nearest conscious gnoll.

Lanny the elf
Seeing the gnolls start to wake up, Lanny shouts to his companions:
"Charge them! And put them back to sleep!"
Lanny continues to stand next to his horse and fire arrows, aiming for the gnoll leader and hoping for a paralyzing strike to regain the party's momentum.

Round Two, cont.
Rhys draws and fires an arrow; the monk's shot is on target but regrettably only traces a bloody furrow across the shoulder of the second gnoll.

Innana the fighter:
Will let the group fire their arrows and stay out of their way, and waits to charge in. After the round of arrows land, Innana intends to charge. The sooner the better. She just does not want to go in with a bunch of arrows stuck to her hind side, or front side for that matter.
If the there is another sleep spell invoked, and it works, Innana still intents to charge in, and slice their throats. The group can argue later if they should have been able to pass without killing any of the gnolls.
I know, one step at a time. I am just letting you know what I intend to do. If something happens to change things, then I will post it, but that is what is what I am going for.

Tratiln, throwing caution to the wind, will engage with the gnoll leader!

Drudsa the dabbler
Drudsa will mount Sugarfoot again and move until he is about 40' of the gnolls (short range for his sling).

Marodin will draw his warhammer, charge, and attack from horseback. He'll go for whichever gnoll is closest, or the flunky if he has a choice.
Semele will dismount, assuming she's within sling range, and fire at the leader.

Rhys mounts back up and continues to circle around, in case any of the gnolls attempts to flee in the opposite direction.

Bregalad the elf
Bregalad hopes to cut off possible escape routes for the gnolls. If he has ridden sufficiently around the left flank, so that he, Rhys, and the party have surrounded them on three sides, then he will start moving towards the gnolls, and then dismount when he is within throwing range of his spear.
