Faron rapidly rises, scratches his rather scraggly beard, rinses his face, combs his shaggy gingery hair, puts on his helmet, and takes his bow and sword.

Alordan moves to wake up Andron if he isn’t up yet. As he wakes, he motions his head towards the newcomer with a not so subtle ‘ahem

He steadily rises and peers curiously at what appears to be the Blue Jester. "Indeed? To confirm your identity, when we first met, I told you about my race ... please tell me of what race am I?"

BJ gets up from the chair to address the group.

"I got word from an informant that Stalks is on the move today, giving us the perfect opportunity to get in and get back out of his underground palace, hopefully avoiding confrontation with the floating eyeball altogether."

She looks to Andron and smiles. "I am impressed Mister Andron, to use your own favorite prefix. That is good thinking on your part. Must come from your original elvish sensibilities, no?" She winks at the alien looking elf to button up her words.

"And that smell and sound of heavy breathing must be your half-orc companion? I cant see him, but he breathes so loud I could have kissed him in his sleep. More of your handy work, no doubt?"

"Gather your things quickly so we can get going. I have a carriage waiting outside. The streets are still clear for the moment, so we should get moving. Sorry for the sudden change of plans, but we must do with what we must in times like these. There is food and drink waiting as well, so you can break your fast along the way."

He nods in satisfaction with a wry smile to the Blue Jester. "Mr. Maag's invisibility is courtesy of Mr. Torbath, actually. When you are ready, I can provide you a shield of silence for eight minutes." He then shuffles into the carriage.

Theo climbs into the carriage, hoping that trusting BJ is the right move. If nothing else, at least there's a free breakfast.

Maag

Maag puzzles over the mention of a bad smell. "I cannot smell anyfing", he sniffs. At the mention of breakfast, he grins wolfishly and follows the others to the carriage.

Torbath

"Ready to go then?"

Just for clarification, I am assuming that I have used my Second Level spell (on Maag) since we are leaving in a rush or am I back to full strength?

Stat block below is correct. You are all at full spell capability. (you can study or pray along the way to your next destination)

The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma’s Sewer Quest
Nice Neighborhood

BJ smiles at Alordan. "Do you really think I got all dressed up like this to traipse through a stinking sewer? No sir. Where we are going will be much nicer than where you folks started this quest."

The carriage is rather cramped once everyone climbs inside, but after the horses take off, the ride is quick and smooth at least. A cloth bag of warm biscuits and bread is passed around, with sweet meats and sliced fruits also on the traveling menu. BJ passes around a bottle of red wine that goes excellent with any meal, an unrecognizable vintage even a wine snob would be glad to share with friends.

"We are headed out to the countryside, if you can actually call it that here. After doing a little magical scrying last night, I have located an underground area where Stalks likes to hide some of his valuables. This place is still attached to his vast underground networks, but at least it isn't as unpleasant as his sewer tunnels can be. I have it on good authority that the wizards book you seek is held in this area, so we will start looking there first."

Once everyone is eating and drinking, BJ asks "is there anything you need to do in the Marketplace before we leave?"

He was still pondering what constitutes a countryside here when BJ asks her question, "No. I think it is best we avoid attracting any further attention to ourselves at this time."

Alordan looks relieved to not enter the sewers (for now, at least). "I can't think of anything in the markets we could really afford that would make a difference with this Stalks guy. I guess I'm ready like the rest."

The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma’s Sewer Quest
Ether Country

The carriage ride goes along smoothly as the party eats, drinks, and discusses what comes next. Oddly, the horses doing the pulling don't make any noise, and come to think of it, the don't give off any of those normal horse smells either. Eventually it becomes obvious that this unmanned vehicle works on some kind of magical self propulsion, and the animals are simply illusional window dressing.

Andron seems most interested in the "country" they are headed to, unsure what to expect from such a thing here on the Ethereal Plane. After a short ride, his curiosities are piqued even further when the coach stops at a curtain of pink that blots out everything in sight beyond it. Oddly, this veil sits right at the edge of the streets and buildings that make up the entirety of this Ethereal Marketplace, essentially acting as the boundaries for the strange walless city.

BJ looks out the window at the pink landscape beyond all the buildings, issuing out a warning. "If you're not used to this, you might feel a little weird during this next part." She hops out and walks into the Pink curtain without saying anything else, apparently assuming you will all follow. Anyone who does sees something very strange beyond the streets and structures. An alien rocky landscape sits just beyond the curtain, with nothing to see but Pink emptiness. The longer you stare into it, the easier it is to make out contours and shapes of the rocks, and eventually you see what looks like a Pink ocean that stretches out beyond this rocky shore.

BJ walks into the Pink a little further and disappears around a obviously solid precipice in the stone. When you all gather there, she points out an iron grate covering what appears to be a black hole beyond it built into the Pink rock. There is a huge iron padlock keeping the grate securely closed, which BJ points to before addressing the group.

"Who wants to show me what they got on this easy one?"

Theo stares at the pink ocean stretching all around? What is it? Is it navigable? Can one breathe in it?

The backwoods ranger has no skill at all with mechanical things such as locks, so he just stays out of the way.

He gazes in wonder at the strange pink atmosphere of the Ethereal plane, although he also has a very odd feeling of familiarity ... and the smell of, rotting seaweed?
