Early Afternoon, Clear

Somehow, Stobart understands what Gyb is saying, so they get Keya moved to the cave opening. Hearing familiar voices inside, they join the others to find Crabgrass is also unconscious, and several others are wounded. The trail of dead bandits on the floor punctuates the lopsided results of the battle.

While everyone rearms themselves with their stolen gear again, the post-combat tensions seem unnecessarily heightened. Moving towards the passage Catbird took, the groups meet up to find Loyn and Cobb searching the ground in a 4-way intersection outside an unopened door. Though no puddles or smears of oil are found, a small pile of broken glass is spotted on the floor in the northern alcove, a waxy plug lies intermingled within the mess.

After pocketing the stray earring, Magdal and Crobeus peel their baby blue burglar away from the pretty lady in chains so they can join up with the others. Magdal thinks she walks face first into a spiderweb half way along the dim passage, but doesn’t find any of the sticky substance stuck to her when she goes to wipe it away.

The Paladin continues to yank their prisoner of war along with him, inquiring as to the identity of the woman chained in the hidden alcove. As expected, he receives a nasty reply. “Oh, that woman? Back there? I thought that was………your MOTHER!”

Meinhardt pokes at the glass debris with the end of his staff. "A potion? Why break the bottle so loudly, and here, specifically?" He may be invisible now, distract us with the noise as he circles back."

Crobeus - Human Paladin

"That would be my thoughts exactly. I doubt he would be careless enough to drop the bottle and alert us to his presence accidentally. He's either trying to get behind us or going to get help."

Rida

Rida will place his back against a wall for now.

"Do we fall back to a defensive position to recover or keep searching for him?"

To Crobeus, "Catbird was expecting reinforcements to ambush us from the rear. They never arrived and I assume he meant the adjacent cave whereupon you intercepted them? Perhaps he's looking to escape that way or link up with any survivors?"

Dredd

The Half-Orc watches warily for the "invisible" bandit leader, while edging his way over to Magdal. The relief on his face is evident when he sees her again. "Mags, thought I'd never see ya again. Or I'd be a zombie somewhere in these hellish caves."

Pimlan chimes in clearing his voice and saying "Well if you'd play along zombie would not have been in your future Dredd." looking around and listening "Are you sure the bandit leader is invisible and not simply slipped through some secret door?"

Crobeus - Human Paladin

"Hmm. We never did find those clerics he talked about, so I'm worried about them. Did he mention anything about a woman? We found one who may be a captive chained up behind a curtain in a fancy bedroom. And some treasure in a chest. Bugs missed the trap and it sprayed blue all over him." The paladin grins as he mentions Bugs' mishap.

Renna

"I thought we saw Catbird run past? With the two unconscious does anyone have any healing left?"

"I am not sure, Pimlan. If he fled through a secret door though, I doubt he would so blatantly alert us to that fact. Wait ... Crobeus, you found a possible captive? Where? That must be where Catbird is heading, get the treasure and use her as a hostage!"

Rida

"Someone lead the way."

Haldric seeing Keya not responding to routine ministrations levies his last prayer.

"What, that A--hat." Keya sits up and grabs his weapon.

"What's going on? Is anyone else hurt? Meinhardt?"

Loyn sees the rest of the party, but sees that Crabgrass is unconscious, thinking at least he’s still with us. He’ll do a quick search of the mage’s pockets and bags for his precious dog biscuit, hopefully it’s on him. If it is he’ll pocket it. He says, “You know this Catbird you’re referring to didn’t go past Cobb and me, so he either went straight, went into the closed door by the smashed glass and used some sort of potion, possibly for invisibility! Were any of you taken into room and know what’s in there?”

Gyb

Gyb taps the butt of his javelin on the ground to cut above the hubbub.

"This Crabgrass? He's going for more men, perhaps? Gyb let one man go also. No rope to tie him. He ran towards more caves. Gyb thinks he's raising an alarm".

"If there is treasure, Gyb thinks we take it and go. With a prisoner if we want"

"Many of us are injured and there are still bandits to steal from us".

Stobart

"I agree with Gyb, we are depleted and reinforcements could easily overwhelm us. I thank Fharlanghn and yourselves for the rescue, but to tempt fate twice is not a good idea."

"I don't think any of us were taken beyond this door. We were held in the main room. I agree, if that other fleeing bandit is alerting the priests, we should grab the treasure, the captive and leave."
