Thordin the dwarf will retrieve his short bow, then go and check on Grey Jake.
"Fighting like that will get you killed someday human, but it will also earn you my respect."
Thordin will salute Grey Jake for his bravery.

Bregalad the elf
Bregalad watches the lizards flee, and breathes a sigh of relief. "They will hesitate before facing us again."The elf will watch the entrances, as the injured are being helped.
Thirdkingdom, it looks like you had missed Bregalad's intent to cast his Light spell for Round Two. No worries. He will save the spell for another battle.

The resistance offered by the adventurers proves to be more than the giant lizards wish to meddle with, and they soon turn tail and retreat back the way they came, up the northern corridor.
The geckos flee, technically at the start of round three. 4135554153. Everybody but Drudsa and Thordin may act before they are out of range/sight (as they were the only two that did not beat the lizards' initiative).
Edited as Drudsa wouldn't be able to act. I have to read more carefully before I post actions.

Saul will try to hit one of them and then turn to Grey Jake: "Thordin's respect is a very nice thing to have but I'd rather keep living and earn it the slow way."
Is it just me or I never actually hit anyone with anything?

Lanny the elf
Lanny grimaces in pain as he is bitten, and as his attacker turns to flee, Lanny takes a few steps in pursuit but then thinks better of it, not wanting to lure his stronger opponent back into a melee. He watches for a moment as the lizards flee, keeping out of the way of the bowmen taking their final shots.
"They are wounded and will likely leave a trail of blood. We'll be ready for them when we head north."
He grimaces again as he looks at his wound, walking in front of the statue of the woman warrior.
"You neglected to mention these lizards in your written correspondence, madam," he complains to the statue.

Round Three
The lizards, obviously not used to this kind of resistance from their prey, turn and flee, but not before both Meagnor and Tratiln can land parting blows. Meagnor fires an arrow that clips the hindleg of one for minimal damage, but Tratiln's sword stroke severs the backbone of the one that had been harrying Drudsa and the lizard dies at his feet. Meanwhile, the two wounded adventurers are seen to, with Grey Jake's wound being the worst. Marodin's healing skills prove up to the task, however, and a dollop of foul-smelling unguent followed by a quickly wrapped bandage staunches the flow of blood, though the scout still remains pale. Thordin sees to Lanny's wounds, which are not as serious as Jake's.
Shit, sorry about that, Finglas. It totally would have worked, too. I dropped the ball on that one. I took some liberties and assumed that First Aid would be administered to the wounded as soon as possible. This was about the toughest random encounter result I had charted, and plus I rolled the maximum number appearing.
Okay, so I have Tratiln and Saul attacking with his sword, Meagnor firing an arrow. Drudsa's initiative is too low for a spell; the lizards disappear up the northern corridor before he can cast.
Tratiln attacks: 18 hits for 5 damage.
Saul attacks: 8 miss. And don't worry, Luis, Saul has made some hits. I'm almost sure of it.
Meagnor attacks: 19 hits for 1 damage.
First aid on Grey Jake (Marodin): 6, success. Regains 3 hp.
First aid on Lanny (Thordin): 12, success. Regains 2 hp.

Lanny the elf
Lanny waits patiently while Thordin bandages his arm, then nods his head in thanks to the dwarf.
"A decent patch job, Master Thordin. Much obliged."
Lanny walks over to examine the slain lizard.
"Nicely done, Tratiln. Now then, let's have a closer look at this thing... I am slightly curious to know whether or not Jake and I have been poisoned."
Lanny squats down and checks for fangs or other obvious signs of a poisonous animal.
Lanny then looks over to the eastern passage, checking to see if the smoke has cleared yet.
"I would suggest we check the rat room for exits before continuing to the north... Just be sure to hold your breath going through there..."
Nature Lore, I suppose, to check for the characterisitcs of a poisonous animal. Hit points updated: 5/6

Meagnor the Elf apologizes to Thordin with a smile: "I'm sorry, my friend. I warned you of the danger of staying in the field while I'm shooting. Of course these arrows made by Men are the ones to blame for everything."
Meagnor will guard the eastern entrance while the others recover: "Are you all right, Jake? That was quite a bite. Not every one would survive that.
question: do the arrows become useless after we shoot them or can we get them back?

Saul replies to Lanny: "You and Jake aren't going anywhere if I have anything to say about it. We should check out that room but I hope it has no exits, that way you two can rest there. Someone should stay here with you while the rest see if it's safe."

Tratiln can't help but supress a small smile as he looks at the fallen gecko, "I hope they have learned their lesson and won't come back but at least they have one less in their group. We should take a few moments to make sure everyone is up to par before continuing on. Perhaps we should have have someone scout ahead first to make sure the coast is clear."

"Anyone in need of a healing potion? Otherwise let's check the rats room."

Lanny smiles in appreciation at Saul's concern.
"It is just a flesh wound, my friend, nothing that a good night's sleep won't heal... or so I hope. I am more concerned about Jake right now... Saul, you may need to do the scouting while Jake stays back. With those night vision goggles of yours, you should do well. By the way, did you not buy a shuttered lantern from the gnome caravan? It might come in handy if we wish to approach an area with an extra degree of stealth... and it would keep us from having to use a normal lantern or torch for light."

By the time the wounded are seen to, spent ammunition recovered when possible and weapons cleaned, it is determined that the smoke filling the rat chamber has abated enough to be safely explored.
The room is 30 feet square. The entrance corridor enters the room in the northern corner of the western wall. There is a corridor leading north from the room in the eastern corner of the northern wall. The floor is covered with a thin layer of ash, the remainders of the leaves, rags and dried grass the rats had collected for their nesting material. The smell in the room is horrid. Otherwise, the room is empty.

Tratiln, after the scouts have checked for traps, will look the area over secret doors and poke around in any piles.

Lanny the elf
Lanny covers his nose and mouth as he passes through the rat room, believing that there are harmful particulates still circulating in the air. He favors spending as little time in this room as possible and is content with a quick visual inspection. He favors leaving the room through the northern corridor when the party is ready to move on.

Saul doesn't want to press his friend even though he doesn't trust he's as well as he claims.
"Yeah, I'm going up ahead to check things out. You should stay behind and guard Jake until you're... eh, he's up and running."
He removes the lantern from his back. "Yes, it was a nice bargain, all the light I could ask for. Sadly I forgot that it draws too much attention to me, just kept it in case the goggles start messing with my head. I was planning on allowing use of it if needed but with people injured we can use all the light we can without worrying about oil and wicks. You hang on to it until we get out of this hole."
Saul puts on the goggles, taking a few seconds to adjust to them, and searches the room for traps, doors and maybe even some treasure. He'll signal the others for anything he finds but won't linger for more time than needed, if they take too long to make a decision he'll go out the same way he came in and remove the goggles.
Does Saul know about the migraines or am I using OOC knowledge? I left it vague enough that if it's OOC it's just a comfort thing that won't be mentioned again but if he is aware I'll try to keep their use to a minimum.

The room is searched thoroughly and gingerly, the adventurers using their weapons to shift smoldering rat corpses and piles of ash. Nothing of interest is discovered, nor do the elves discover any sign of secret doors or passages. Drudsa approaches the northern corridor and peers down its length. His torchlight only provides illumination about thirty feet; for this distance the corridor continues north. He thinks he can see an opening on the left-hand side just past the edge of illumination.
Luis, I'm cool with assuming the merchant explained the goggle's limitations when he bought them.
