Algrim and Volin arrive at the appointed time at The Blue Horse.

Anyone else going along? All welcome.

Eitri is standing by the bar, smoking a pipe as you approach. He is slightly taller than average for a dwarf and has a massive frame (4' 9"/145 pounds). The dwarves would estimate his age at around 100, everyone else would put him in his prime.

In Harnic, "Greetings fellow Khuzdul, what brings you to this far land?"

Arngeir

Quick retcon for earlier this day:

At breakfast Arngeir mentioned that he has arranged a room at the inn for their evening meal so they can plan the next few weeks in private. There was a thoughtful (or perhaps concerned?) look on his face.

Not expecting any response to this post here.

Just assuming he was included Murgar will go with Arngeir to the lunch with the dwarves.

Looks at Eitri with some excitement, although hiding it well.

"Greetings master khuzdul. Very nice to meet you, but we could ask the same of you. Are you here in business? Exploration? Like my friend Algrim said, we have an undertaking of sorts. Say, would you happen to know any old watchpost or fortification nearby?" She tries to explain where they found it.

"Glad to meet you all. I was tutoring a squire on how to fight against someone with an axe. Axes are becoming more common around here and his father thought it would help him out. You say you found a place, is it nearby? I have been renting a basement on the island from a merchant. Secure but a little damp."

Arngeir nods, grinning, and pats his axe

"Is good to hear. Axe is good weapon, solid weapon."

"A little far out for everyday stay but it sounds great for extended stay away from the humans." He winks at Algrim with his human comment.

Murgar

Listens to the conversation and assesses all that is being said. He also gets out a minor set of bones and rolls them to gain added insight throughout the running chatter.

"So...what are we talking about here? Several years of work? I am no expert craftsman but that door seemed to be fairly broken. Also, we'd need ample supplies of food. I guess we could rent a cart or two?"

"I might be able to arrange that. I know at least in passing most of the Khuzdul who have come through here over the past couple of years. Mostly merchants and traders but some know some valuble skills. We could work an arrangement perhaps where everyone pitches in for a share of some sort. Rights to stay in the future or something like that."

He pauses a minute and then goes on.

"I grew up the the best metalsmith clan in the world, trained as a metal smith before leaving Azadmere. I am not that good but as far as humans go I would be considered a master anyways. I could help with that sort of work and protection of course."

Algrim and Volin can verify his clan is considered the best metalsmithing clan in the world.

Not that you would know at this point but his metalsmith related skills are:
Engineering 51, specialty Machinery 65
Masonry 62, specialty Fitting metal in to stone 76
Metalcraft 95, specialties Iron & Steel 112
Mining 75, specialty Iron 90
Weaponcraft 90, specialties Axes & Shields 107

"Is good, more discussion needed. Form strong bonds in area, between ivinian, chybisa, khazdul. We all grow stronger."

Algrim "Aye, what he said. Far as I'm concerned more of our kin that wanna pitch in can stay till their offspring decide they dun wanna stay no more."

"It sounds like maybe we have a deal then. If you can describe to me what we might need to fix this broken door I can work on getting stuff together and head out with one of you as a guide maybe? If you don't really know I could go look myself and then come back for supplies, it will just take longer."
