The Jungle Below The Plateau
Midday, Hot, Dark, Noisy
Daisy and Yrias stay near the entrance to watch for trouble while the others move inside.
Feanol looks over the area for secret doors, but doesn't notice anything worth mentioning.
Maag cautiously prods along the floor towards the shelf across the room.
Wake walks up to the shelf, about to read the engraving etched upon its surface, when Maag tosses his waterskin onto it.
The waterskin instantly disappears, allowing the cleric to read the words on the shelf again.
"NO MERE TRINKET SHALL PROVIDE SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH THE STONE"
Maag stands there, a bit thirsty, though no longer carrying any water on him.
Nothing else happens.

The Princess
"What did the writing say before?" She asks with a chuckle as Maag loses his trinket.
"Does it demand money? Gems? Blood?" She pauses for effect. "The safe passage part is intriguing."
She waits to see if the words change to something else.

Yrias suggests wine might be the answer.
Princess pontificates aloud, not seeing any change in the writing on the shelf. (the inscription was there from the start and hasn't changed)
Feanol offers a gold coin along with her suggestion to toss it on the shelf next.
Wake doesn't spot any grooves or depressions, believing they're on the right track by placing offerings directly upon the shelf itself.
Daisy watches the entrance, seeing no threats in that area.
Maag shrugs, but does as suggested, tossing the proffered coin upon the shelf.
This time, a strange darkness envelops the room, blocking out torchlight and the already meager natural light coming in from outside. A feeling of dread encompasses the group, but only for a moment.
When the light suddenly returns to the room, the coin is missing, but there is otherwise no change whatsoever to the shelf or the rest of the room.

Feanol
"Well that was something, but hardly enlightening, maybe there's an amount we have to reach?" While saying this she will once again scan the room to see if there are any changes including hidden doors being revealed.

The Princess
She tenses as the darkness surrounds her, hand on her blade. When it subsides she can't shake the feeling that something's different.
"We should look outside. Confirm that nothing has changed. Maag, do you feel anything?"

Maag steps back hurriedly from the shelf. The sudden blackness and fear brought back memories of the horrors under the temple. He turns to the Princess.
"Nah, nuffin different 'ere yer Majesty. Not sure if I wanna go through dat again though. 'ow about yerself?"

Question - Is there are typo? If yes, in the post or on the sign? e.g. should PROVID be PROVIDE
NO MERE TRINKET SHALL PROVID SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH THE STONE"

Re: Activation Station II, The Cold Basement
Yes, that was a typo on my part.
I read it 3 times and still missed that, and apparently spell-check doesn't work when the word is in all caps.

Re: Activation Station II, The Cold Basement
Thanks, just was thinking hard about it and trying to understand if that was a clue. I think I make more typos than you. Thank you!

Re: Activation Station II, The Cold Basement
That was addressed in the last update.
The Jungle Below The Plateau
Midday, Hot, Dark, Noisy
Total Darkness
A few seconds after Yrias pours wine on the shelf, the groups third meager offering, the lights go out once again. But this time, they do not come back on.
A chilly darkness envelops the room completely. There is a strange whooshing noise, followed by more chill and more darkness.
Each of you is startled by a very strange sensation that rushes through your bodies, causing great discomfort and mass delirium. The wracking pain should be enough to bring one to their knees, but the torturous sensation doesn't provide such respite. everyone takes 4 points of damage
Once the pain settles, the disorientation becomes even worse. You feel yourself being pulled through time and space, but you are blinded by the intense darkness the entire time.
Then, as quickly as it started, the sensation abates, leaving the group disheveled and still surrounded by total darkness, despite their torch. After a quick verbal role-call, you are relieved to learn that at least everyone is still together and alive......so far.

The Princess
"OW! What the hells was that?" The Princess exclaims with the indignation only royalty can muster.
"And this damn darkness! Can anyone cast light?" She reaches out to find others in the dark, grabbing hold of what she finds.
"If we can't find light, let's link up, and then try to find a wall."
