Alordan doesn't appreciate getting volunteered to go first. He understands the benefit. Maybe. He hands the pole to who ever is behind and tells them to hold it steady as they go. He draws his dagger along with his sword and heads off into darkness.
He tries to keep note of the corridors and spaces he passes for any that may have been formerly occupied by a statue.

"Wotever is der quickest way to der treasure Andron mate. Brutus, we'll be out of yer 'air in five minutes. You'll never even know we woz 'ere." Maag draws his sword and takes his place at the rear.

"Thank you, Mr. Alordan. The west tunnel, please. That tunnel also narrows significantly where the statue was blocking it. Brutus is likely too large to maneuver through it. The kobolds could, of course. They were probably wet like the others so perhaps that may help in detecting any tracks?"
"The treasure room is actually quite near, Mr. Maag." Andron retrieves his map and unfolds it to indicate the area he believes is referenced as a bull's nose in the note.
"Unfortunately, it's also in an area with multiple points an ambush could be launched. In these narrow tunnels we would be at a distinct disadvantage. There is no other exit from the medusa's chambers, though. We can verify no threats will ambush us from this direction, at least.
He looks up from the map to give the half-orc a wry grin.
"Besides, we haven't checked that large room of junk for any magical treasures that may be hidden." He shakes the end of the bamboo pole with the wedged light stone for emphasis, hoping to appeal to the rogue's greed.

One More Excursion
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid
Deciding that moving towards the area of the suspected treasure will be too dangerous with the many ambush points in that spot, Andron commands Alordan to the front of the line before agreeing that they should use the dog to track the movements of the minotaur.
The ranger reluctantly agrees to taking point when Gramble uncharacteristically trades places with the man, moving himself much further back in the order. Once Tlachtga releases her excited hound, Cu instantly bolts into the dark western tunnel. Before he is even out of sight, he stops, barks a few times, sniffs the ground some more, and bolts back through the legs of the party, heading back into the entrance chamber and running for the northern tunnel this time.
When Alordan let’s his eyes adjust to the light, he sees a single dead kobold lying on the ground in the tunnel. The things small body appears badly gored and cut.

Andronichishche nearly trips when Cu barrels back up the tunnel to the entry chamber.
"At least we know where Brutus went." He strains to see ahead at the small figure on the floor next to Alordan.
"A kobold, I assume? There may be others further ahead." He casts a concerned glance at Carucenus then up the tunnel whence they came.
"I'd rather we proceed west. Recover sister Theresa and secure this section first."

The cleric looks at the injuries kobold received from the mystery beast, then grips her mace a little tighter before moving on. I wonder how many more of these kobold bodies we will find on the way?

Moments after expressing his thoughts, Andronichishche remembers Cu's rather persistent tracking. He was becoming rather fond of the unusually large and hairy dog and the sight of the gored kobold prompted a quick reversal in opinion. "Quickly, we can't let him out of the light!" Andron rushes back to the northern tunnel following Cu, but will wait for the others at the alcove with the exploded statue.

Maag watches Cu zip by him, then joins in the discussion about what to do next. If der is magic stuff in der junk room dat will 'elp us ki...deal wiv Brutus...er...peacefully, den I reckon we should go der first. 'owever, despite our professional differences, I would not like to see Dog 'ead get whacked". He turns to Tlachtga. "Can yer get 'im back? Or do we 'ave to go an' get 'im?"
Then Maag hears Andron start yelling and shouting. "Well, dat problem was resolved quickly". Sword and bamboo pole at the ready, he rushes off with Andron.

Carucenus starts running with Andron. He takes care that he's close to light source he's holding, not wanting to revive the experience he had a couple... days? ago. "Yes, run. Don't let the poor animal go alone! There'll be time to bury the dead later." If he hadn't have his sword ready, he does so while running. "Wait for the worst."
