Yes, I definitely agree with you. I thought you had the power to heal, otherwise I would have healed you soonner. My apologies Tlacthga.

Andronichishche
Andronichishche glances at Tlachtga when she mentions her condition and his eyes widen slightly in surprise.
"My sincere apologies, Miss Tlachtga. You bear your injuries very well with little indication of distress." His demeanor expresses a distinct admiration of the druid's stoicism and control of pain.
"Of course, allow me to assist Miss Lerrick."

Andron overhears the discussion concerning the trees while healing Tlachtga and weighs in after completing his spell.
"I have no oil, either. It's a reasonable plan but we also need to somehow ensure the fire doesn't engulf the entire island. The trees have also indeed moved slowly ... in our past encounters. This last time they adapted and dropped their vines quite quickly, though. I think some kind of trap where we can minimize our proximity would be safest. We can return better equipped with oil and tools."

"A very astute observation, Mr. Carucenus. With the loss of Sir Crestbrook our vanguard is compromised. Please take position behind Mr. Gramble. Thank you."
Carucenus nods readily to Andron and keeps looking around them while he unsheathes his sword.
"I don't have any oil, either, just some torches and a tinderbox." says he, adding his two copper coins to the discussion.
Carucenus will from now take position behind Andron in the marching order list.

Alordan wonders how else to take the killer trees down as the boat makes it's way around the island. "If we could lure them into one area, we could think about digging a trench to surround them - less risk to burning the island down that way..."

Maag
Maag wrinkles his brow at the idea of digging trenches. " 'ow long would dat take? We don't even know 'ow many trees der are, so 'ow long will der trenches 'ave to be? 'an who will dig der trenches? 'alf a dozen of us?" He shrugs. "I'm sick of dis island. Der bloody trees can keep it".

One More Excursion
Starday, 20th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Sunny, Warm, Humid
Andron understands where the ex-fishermen are coming from, so he agrees wholeheartedly that everyone really is in this together. The priest of Rao hops out of the boat and heads for the trail when Tlachtga reminds everyone about her current status. Lerrick and Andron do what they can for the humble and injured druid, praying her back to full health.
Carucenus asks if he should be moved in the marching order. Andron suggests that he move up behind the aggressive Gramble to replace their now pumiced paladin, but he only moves up behind Andron instead. (?) Maag cautions that kobolds are cunning and sneaky, so they very well could still be around, almost anywhere in fact.
Though the killer trees all appear to be amassed on the farthest side of this island now, they still seem to be the main topic of discussion. Several destruction ideas are brought up, but none of them even seem feasible at the moment. The group stands on the lumpy sand, ready to head back into the cave they know so well by now.

Andronichishche
Andronichishche trudges back to the trail head after assisting Lerrick tend to Tlachtga. He peers into the canopy of the trees again looking for any evidence of hidden brown vines or arboreal kobolds. He turns about when discussion of the killer trees continues. "That was my thought exactly, Mr. Alordan. Although, as Mr. Maag insinuated, we we will need to hire laborers for such a project to be completed in a reasonable amount of time."
Andron plucks a ripe fruit from a nearby tree and studies it in his hand. "Beachtown is in desperate need for an additional food supply, which this island can provide." He takes a bite of the fruit and gestures towards the island interior. "Fresh, clean, spring water is also in the caves, but we're quite low on coin and need the promised medusa's treasure to make that plan a reality."
Taking his place by Maag at the rear of the column, he motions for Carucenus to move forward in line. "If you would please, Mr. Carucenus, and follow Mr. Gramble? Keep watch on the tree canopy. I will do the same for the rearguard. If any kobold remain, I expect they'll attempt an ambush from above."

Alordan wonders alound, "With the crazy rock guy out of the way - do we expect any more minotaurs to attack us? I wonder if he was setting them free every time we came around? clearly he could watch us from where he wanted hidden. We could check the map we've made versus what statues actually are still there. Main reason I worry about that is so we don't get attacked again - well, and that dais that we don't know anything about really."
He pauses and considers, "It's those things in particular - but everything in general....."

Andronichishche
Andronichishche strokes his chin in thought, considering Alordan's questions carefully. An uncharacteristic amount of time passes before he replies, and when he does his words are spoken almost to himself as to anyone else in the group. "The dais has a druidic rune of a bovine and an arcane symbol for summoning. It's true we still know nothing of its origin nor its intended purpose. I'm fairly certain it does indeed summon a minotaur ... whether the same individual ...?"
He simply shrugs in response to his own question. "The almagamation of druid and wizard magic is definitely intriguing, though ..."
He retrieves his map of the complex and studies the locations of the minotaur statues. "You raise an interesting point, however. If Marquees did have the ability to reverse petrification, that may have been the source of new minotaurs instead of summoning by the dais. If we don't encounter another while entering the cave, that lends credibility to the notion."

Alordan concedes, and continues to chat while the boat plies the waves, "But i guess those things had to get here to begin with.. somehow. Do you think anything would happen if we stood on the dais? No one has done that yet..."

Andronichishche
Andronichishche stares at Alordan with a peculiar expression, as if he's attempting to solve an equation written upon the latter's face. "They did indeed necessarily arrive here by some means ... implied in your question though, is a suggestion as to the means."
He glances down at his map again momentarily. "We assumed the dais automatically summons a minotaur per some schedule or trigger, but perhaps this is incorrect. The process may require one to stand upon the dais and invoke the summoning. I would volunteer to try ... however, I've learned thrice over now my body lacks the fortitude to endure an unfortunate outcome."

Alordan mumbles, "I can think of a statue we could put on the dais, poor bastard. Maybe he'd find that fitting? Bravery even in death..."

Andronichishche
Andronichishche feels a slight twinge of guilt at the mention of Sir Crestbrook. The paladin would have never hesitated to volunteer. The dais is central to the mystery of the island ... in memory of his friend he could not let himself retreat from the unknown. "It would likely require someone trained in the magical arts to activate ... I am willing to try."
