If I did go back and retcon Paleo's Help action in the last round, that would have happened just before Grimbul attacked, so he technically would have been the one to gain the benefit (but he didn't need it).
Catarina will act again before Paleo's next flight, so she won't have either advantage or sneak attack (unless circumstances change between now and when your attack would take place) in this upcoming round.

Aye, I was in the same situation a year or two ago until said Arcane Trickster learned the spell, now Mylicky (or Owly as he's affectionately known because nobody ever remembers his name) has been a regular superstar for scouting, night patrols and of course giving the wood elf those sweet extra damage dice. Of course, keeping the thing alive is a lot harder than it seems with fireballs and AoE spells flying around the battlefield.

In future you will get SA by virtue of the advantage granted by Palaeo; if you ever find yourself ahead of the owl's initiative you could always ready an action to attack once he uses the Help action, which would also allow you advantage and thus sneak attack damage.

The trick will be timing the initiative and making sure Cat is the next attacker.
Or, at least the next attacker to target the distracted opponent.
Just to clarify a bit more, Rogues get Sneak Attack damage on an attack if an ally is within 5 feet of their target, or they have advantage on the attack roll. Most of the time you'll be attacking someone in melee with somebody else, but occasionally you'll have advantage- you just have to remember to roll the extra dice.

Ah yes as the master/mistress of all things rogue I did forget the sneak attack being applied with advantage. Usually I like to get up close and personal and stick things with the pointy end. Never have been a range attack rogue.
It's easy to forget about attacking with advantage, as it doesn't come into play nearly as often as attacking someone in melee with an ally, which is interesting because it is actually listed first. The PHB makes it seem like that will be the primary way to gain sneak attack, and oh, yeah, here's this other way you can get it, too.

Oops forgot sneak damage. Literally just talked about this. Cousin Jordan in town. Played Gloomhaven, Teriforming Mars and Too Many Bones in the last three days. Brain is fried. DM will you add a d6 for me if it hits.
I'm hoping to be able to move this game again today. Apologies for the delay.
On that subject, I regret to inform you that the pace of all my games is going to be slowing down even further. Thanks to my company's generous parental leave policy, I just officially learned this morning that, starting next week, my manager will be out on paid paternal leave for roughly the next 2.5 months.
I'm going to be pulling double-duty at work until August, which I absolutely dread since my own clients keep my sufficiently busy, but my manager's client is a particularly difficult one. It's going to be making my life very stressful, and definitely cutting into the free time I was able to carve out during the day to work on game updates.
I will still be able to hop in quickly when I receive a notification that a forum or topic I subscribe to received an update, and will be able to provide short answers or replies to questions or requests, but my ability to post game action posts (with mapping, die rolling, tracking statistics, etc...) will be extremely cut back. Apologies!
I will still do my best to keep everyone moving along, as rapidly as I can, but it's probably realistic to expect updates to occur every 2-3 days instead of every 1-2 days.
Ok so Grimbul might need help getting him up and in the tunnel then correct?
