ok, so we are in the northern circle room. Were did we see her go?
Back where we came in, or all over the place and out some other exit? or did we just see her leave this hallway and have no idea where next?


Markd will look for any warnings or other inscriptions as the others check for traps, etc.

With the mist gone, Bandy explores the room more carefully, looking for anything that was previously hidden by the mist.

It was only one turn. You saw (moreso heard) her reach the top of the stairs.

The group spends time in the round chamber. Fingers checks the statue for compartments and traps while Winnie inspects the wardings, Markd looks for other inscriptions and traps, and Bandy looks for anything previously hidden in the mist. The room is distinctly of two eras and purposes. Mark recognizes the Khalorrim scripts of the horselord people, the original builders of the tomb to honor their earlier kings in this land, interpreting them for the others. The chamber was meant as a place of reflection and honorific to King Farthegn; it tells of his near-deific blessing by Baudhon and is a religious place to seek wisdom. Examining the statue reveals only a statue, though it is exceptionally-wrought artwork. The carved-stone symbols are the later addition, clear in their magical symbology, and for the purpose of containment. They are very thorough in their purpose and now disrupted. She takes notes on the construction of mystical prisons, where were previously not in her idiom. Bandy finds the floor scattered with a few dozen small items - delicate glass balls containing refracting prisms, spiral conch shells that sound like wind and waves, empty puzzle boxes, their mysteries solved and lying open.

The roaring sound atop the stairs intensifies, punctuated by thuds, crunches, and unearthly wails of dismay. You are startled by the crashing of stone and the walls rumble, flakes of stone and dust falling from the ceiling of your chamber.

Markd suggests they leave, and assuming the others are not arguing, heads up the stairs with his sword in one hand and dagger in the other.

It certainly sounds as if she might bring this place down. Winnie follows closely up the stairs after grabbing a few of the glass balls and a couple conch shells, wrapping them carefully for travel.

Markd leads the way back up the stairs at a quick pace, Winnie pausing only to grab some of the glass baubles. You emerge from the top of the stairs into a (literally) unholy mess. The dessicated body parts of dismembered wights are strewn around the main hall. The central pool is empty, globs of sticky opaque silver ooze splattered over the statues and walls where they steam and hiss on their pathway to the ground. The lifelike statues are toppled, many broken, and any other movable detrius is scattered wildly. You hear the roaring of the whirlwind down the long hallway to the southwest at the moment. The walls are splintered with deep fissures and flakes and dust are now falling from the cracks of the ceiling, which emit an ominous strained groaning.

what's the plan?

Winnie frowns at the chaotic mess. She has done a fine job with the undead, but... I fear this place will collapse at any moment. Should we return to the surface and wait a day or so to let the non-proverbial dust settle?

She peaks back into the room where they battled the with to see what has come of the two caskets, hopefully they are now empty and easily accessed for artifacts.

Winnie also wonders if there are any other imprisoned creatures in other chambers, hating to leave them if they are there

"Yes, let us return to the surface lest this place become our tomb as well. After the dust settles we can see if it is safe to venture back inside. Hengist takes a swift look around the room to see if there is anything that may be grabbed in a hurry as they pass.

Fingers rushes out with the others, making sure his dog is safe. "Shoulda been more specific about what we were doing!" he says, a little cranky that all the loot seems about to be buried.

Sorry about the delay. Was on vacation this weekend out of town.

You hurry clockwise, skipping past the blank wall where the secret door is supposed to be and enter the crypt where you fought the wights. Winnie checks the two sarcophagi in the center - both remain sealed.

Chunks of ceiling are indeed beginning to crack and fall randomly. They're small, for now. The door to the crypts (and ladder up beyond) remains propped open here.

Everyone make a Save vs. Paralyzation with a +2 bonus or take 1d6 damage.

Any action, or just up and out?
