Re: 0. Prelude
"Well. .." sighs the witch, "They could be running behind? Perhaps our comrades had better fortune...Should we head back or practice patients?"
Re: 0. Prelude
Athriel and Petra, while still on the lookout for approaching ships at the dock, are greeted by Ty and Marshal instead.

Re: 0. Prelude
Ty catches the others up on what they've found - a lit candle in the old tavern.
"Heard some noises every now and again that I couldn't quite place, but that was about it. Seems really odd to me..."

Re: 0. Prelude
Athriel is obviously perplexed. "Is it possible that the tavern is used as a signal location and the slavers are actually at a separate location? Or maybe there a time that is set once the light is lit. I think we should make our way into the tavern and take a look around for ourselves."
Re: 0. Prelude
"I am thinking it's a secret door into the ground.....perhaps into tunnel or sewers.."
Re: 0. Prelude
Ty nods in agreement. "Let's go check it out."

Re: 0. Prelude
The group agrees to leave their rented boat secured at the dock and return to the Puffy Pelican en force. Considering their options, they notice that there are two obvious means of entry: Through the front door, which is closed, or through a back entrance which is currently blocked by trash. Or through a window?
I'll just need to know how you plan to approach this.

Re: 0. Prelude
Are there any open or broken windows that we could enter through?
Re: 0. Prelude
With everyone regrouped outside the inn to formulate their plans, they survey the establishment for possible entry points:
It's a two-story building built of stone, with a chimney on either side wall. There is a wooden front door with an iron ring for a handle, which is currently closed. On either side of this front door are segmented, 8-feet wide bay windows made up of four 2-foot wide panes of glass. The glass, for all windows, is mostly missing, with shards found both in- and outside the establishment. A dilapidated awning is still propped up over the window to the left of the entrance, while the awning which once protected the windows to the right has collapsed long ago; it's pieces lie scattered about nearby.
The sides of the inn are solid stone, with no windows, and the rear of the establishment has four, 4-foot square windows spaced evenly across its length, all missing the actual glass. A rear entrance, mostly covered by accumulated debris and other obstructions, is centered on the rear wall.

Re: 0. Prelude
"The rear might be the best point of entry," Ty whispers.
If everyone agrees, he makes his way there and tries to determine if the windows are of a suitable height that he might climb in through one.

Re: 0. Prelude
Petra scans the area for anyone that might be watching as she follows.
Re: 0. Prelude
Before following Ty's suggestion and moving to the rear of the establishment, Petra scans the area to make sure they're not being followed or watched. After concluding that they're not, the group moves.
The bottom of the window box is roughly 3-feet off the ground, so only Marshal would need assistance in order to climb through. There are four rear windows, spaced evenly across the rear wall. The flickering light was seen in the northeast corner.

Re: 0. Prelude
Ty peers in the nearest window, looking first into the room from a slight distance then, if he sees nothing, carefully peering into the room, looking up and to the sides very quickly before climbing through.
