Gwennethel, Elf Druid

Gwennethel has positioned herself just around the corner from where the door opens with a short sword in each hand. She wonders what the heck Merthyr is doing charging the door.

"Merthyr, why don't we just open it."

Sammy moves to drag the cage out of the way.

A horrible crashing sound is heard coming from behind the door and kobolds are screaming in pain and anger. Obvious leaders are shouting out orders for the kobolds to retreat from the door and regroup.

Merthyr has mustered up an unusual hatred of doors since his first encounter with the supply room door and attacks the burning wood with his sword.
To Hit [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12; Dmg [2d8+2] = 6+2 = 8

The charred wood of the door gives way and is knocked off of its overheated hinges. Sammy stares in confusion, asking why they didn't just open the door, but Merthyr feels much better now that he's won a battle with a door.

Sammy moves the cage out of the way with help from Corun and Rubesca, allowing the door to swing freely open, but the kobolds are in retreat and seen running west through the door and down the hallway. 7 kobolds lay dead and burnt up on the other side of the destroyed door and a line of burning oil slowly trails after the kobolds that are fleeing to regroup somewhere further away. Some are seen running off toward the north while others run to the south.

With the door out of the way, the cave breathes in a fresh breath of air and begins to clear the smoke away so the party can breathe easier.

The two kobold prisoners are talking together and finally speak up. "Still too many of them. Open barrels and send oil down corridors. There are rooms up there to left and right. They will try to ambush you there. Two rooms without doors there. Not a good place to get caught between them. They will attack again once they regroup in both rooms. Bring more barrels. They're only strength is in numbers. They will try to wait you out and know not how many barrels you have, but be quick!"

Corun speaks up. "All right then, we can put the cage back in place to help slow them down while we get more barrels, or we can take our chances with just the three that are left here and rush them down there. Any votes? Oh, and I saw Fanxyl's gear in that room. It's up against the wall, just to the right when you go inside. I think you have time to grab it real quick."

Merthyr

giddy from the rush that comes with realising that he is rapidly becoming a feared killer of doors, Merthyr catches his breath and to Corun replies thus:
we can take our chances with just the three that are left here and rush them down there.
"Yep!!!"

"Yep too!!! I want my shield back - so grab your stuff, Fanxy-pants"

Trendt will setup to do what they did back before they entered the cave. "Alright Sammy or anyone want to help me setup the same idea we started with before entering the caves? I'll get this one ready and roll it down the south someone get one of the others and do the same down the north then after that we might use the fourth to pour down the two tunnels to set on fire."

The most outspoken kobold prisoner whispers to Trendt so nothing down the hall hears him. "Hall goes down 50' then opens right up into southern room where half of them will be hiding and waiting for you. Throw open barrel with lit wick down there first, then others in north room might only number 23, and have another 2 barrels ready just for them. Harder to get at in north room. The hall jogs to the right before opening up, but south wall just opens right up at end of hall."

Trendt said in low enough tones that his friends can hear but not loud enough to hopefully echo down the tunnels. "Alright everyone lets get these 2 ready now for the southern passage. Get another two for the northern one." and Trendt sets to getting the barrels ready and rolling them to the passage with help from the others hopefully.

"Hold here for a minute, I want to check out that door there."
He points left to the south door. He moves into the room and looks in. Then he looks to see if it can be secured.

Adel will emerge from the shadows. The group seems to be good with the oil, so he won't interfere with that. Instead, he will guard the rear against any spiders, goblins or other undesirables, spear at the ready.

Gwennethel, Elf Druid

Gwennethel goes to the west door looking down the hallway and sees what appears to be a northern hallway coming off the western hallway. She says to both Biblo and Trendt, "ask the Kobolds if there are any other exits from those two rooms that all the kobolds ran in to and ask them about the hallway just before that, going north.

Trendt wants two barrels for the south room and two for the north, but there are now only three barrels standing, so Corun and Rubesca run off to get another one while Sammy investigates the south door in the room ahead. The room that once contained a little army of kobolds is now empty. Both the room he's standing in and the room he's checking out are lit with several torches along the walls. Both of these rooms look like kobold barracks for the small sized bedrolls that are sloppily situation around the rooms. Dirty kobold clothing lays around everywhere and it's anyone's guess how those creatures tell one piece of clothing apart from another.

Adel has left the shadows and Fanxyl has gone into the room ahead to grab his gear. As Sammy determines the room to the south to be completely safe, Corun and Rubesca return with another barrel, informing the party that they now only have two left outside. The one they brought in was the one that had a hole punched in it before the party had ever ventured inside the cave, so it has left an oil trail from the mouth of the cave to this room, and will do the same as it travels all the way into the south room down the hall. Corun says out loud while thinking, "Well, good. Just roll the barrel down there and we can light them from out here."

Freddie dips his cloth-wrapped arrows into the oil to freshen up the fuel supply, knowing he'll definitely have to use them this time. As soon as everyone moves up into the next room and gets by the west door in there, they can see the hall going north that Gwennethel is asking about. The kobolds say that there is a locked door there that the kobolds have never been able to get into, so they don't know where it leads but that there can't possibly be any other kobolds in there. Their late chief thought it unwise to open that door (since it wouldn't open anyway). They say it was locked before they took over here and that they have never been very good at picking locks. They also inform the party that the two rooms the kobolds are hiding in are barrack rooms with no other doors or exits. It is a dead end where the kobolds must surely meet their fate. Freddie makes special note of that fact as he gets his hopes up for a challenge.

The barrel is kicked to go rolling down the hall and Freddie lights the oil trail with his flint and steel. The fire trails after the barrel and the kobolds see it coming as it reaches the other end of the hall. The barrel rolls off to the south and there is an explosion. Amidst the explosion, screams and clatter, 7 kobolds rush from the room and fly over to the north where they join up with the rest of the kobolds. Trendt can hear that they are panicked. "They have big barrels! They take out all of us! No hope!" The leaders are finally heard shouting orders. "Rush them now! Kill them all! Feed their corpses to the spiders!"

Three barrels stand at the ready, but the kobolds will soon be coming around that corner after the party. The two kobold prisoners have already popped holes in the other three barrels and Corun waits until he sees the first kobold come from down the hall before he kicks the barrel in their direction. The archers take aim and prepare for the fight of their lives.

Corun has left the mule two rooms back, standing in the middle of a doorway. The kobolds inform the party that the two leaders and four elite guards are in that last room and will be the last to fight.

The kobolds come around the corner in droves and the barrel is kicked their way. Some of them see it coming and hurtle over it. Freddie takes aim at the barrel after he lights his arrow on fire, taking the first shot to hit the barrel and the second to hit an oncoming kobold.
First Arrow - To Hit: [1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17
Second Arrow - To Hit: [1d20+3] = 6+3 = 9; Dmg: [1d6] = 4
The barrel explodes in the midst of the charging kobolds, but several have jumped over the barrel and running fast while the two kobold prisoners work to put holes in the last two barrels. More kobolds are caught in the fire, but in the chaos, it is hard to tell how many are dropping and how many are getting through. Freddie's first arrow did the job, but his second flew too high to hit any kobolds.

Gwennethel, who was readying her bow while listening to the two kobold prisoners, takes aim at the kobolds leaping over the barrel. She uses two arrows, aiming for two different kobolds, as she whispers a prayer to Corellon.

Adel, in the third rank, is unable to use his spear, so he holds the lantern aloft, focusing the bullseye on the oncoming kobolds; his spear is in his other hand. "I can reinforce those at the front if you are wounded" cries The monk.

Merthyr

hears music in the mayhem. The sudden friendliness of two terrified kobolds gives him a thematic idea for a future tome of experimental lute compositions: "Axis: Kobold As Love"
...before rushing in to attack the first still standing foe he sees: Bastard sword to hit: [1d20+1] = 2+1 = 3, damage vs S/M opp: [2d4+2] = 7+2 = 9 / damage vs L opp: [2d8+2] = 6+2 = 8
But once again, vain longing for younger days as a minstrel has distracted Merthyr in the midst of combat. This is definitely not a smash hit
