Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
you would think Kormak would know how it feels to be "different".

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
different in a manner beyond his control yes. Though Mr. Choe chooses to be the cross dresser at least that is Kormak's view.

Oh, now you open up the entire "gay by choice debate". I'm hetero and I don't buy the argument. No one wants to be gay. I side with the "born gay" argument.

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
oh I am not saying that at all..... I am merely stating the opinion of the character not my own thoughts. In the time of what is supposedly the setting of this game I'm thinking that it is less common for cross dressing to be accepted for one and two this is a half orc he is fairly simple minded and not majorly smart.

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
yup. personally I have friends and relatives that are gay. I also have no issues with cross dressing and so forth. Just to clear that air.

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
Just to be the "Um, actually..." guy: don't conflate cross-dressing with homosexuality. The vast majority of cross-dressers are heterosexual.
But, since the point of historical acceptance has been raised: Historically, Idonea would be a cross-dresser, also, in her hunter's leathers. Most contemporary fantasy worlds pay no heed to actual history of dress (which I'm all for. I know just enough about the subject to think that strictly researched period garb will not enhance our gameplay experience). But if we wanted to cleave a bit more towards historically appropriate attitudes, I'd be happy enough to play Idonea as someone who runs up against her society's gender expectations.

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
Eh I'm not historically accurate anyways. If we stick to history elves and orcs never existed. Same with most all of the races from these games.

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
Yup. Historicism is a rabbit hole that's best not to head down. Next thing you know, you need a couple of doctorates just to figure out what kind of food the tavern would actually be serving. Much better to just accept that it's fantasy based off a vaguely defined psuedo-Medievalism. Pick and choose the bits that are fun, and make up the rest. Towards this end, I advocate a liberalism that would have been largely out of place in most (but not all!) Medieval societies when it comes to gender, sexuality, and ethnicity.

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
eh Kormak is going to be one of the key points of tension in this group just tellin' yah now.
Mort on the other hand will be the balance between that tension though he creates more tension by having a bit of a thing for Maya

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
Then it's unfortunate... Victor already sold Maya's wedding to Mr. Choe for three chickens and a goat so he could make a meat pyramid!

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
I'm going to go back and edit my last few posts to make them fit into the flow of events a bit more, what with my being mistaken about Mort being at the Inn with us, and the conversation with the officials beginning before Idonea and Ewat had arrived.
Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
Yeah, I got a bit lost there, that's why I directed our general reply to Idonea, who my PCs seemed to be near as I understood it. Still not 100% clear over if my PCs are also in the same room as the officials, or where Victor & Maya are... but that's cool, it will sort itself out!

Re: Out of Character Discussion (OCC):
We may need some of Pyro's battle summary posts just to keep our conversations straight!
