Maag

Maag waits until the Blue Jester is out of earshot. "Listen, just because she says yer can't trust Percy doesn't mean we 'ave to follow 'er wiv our eyes an' ears closed. She is not our new best mate. Watch out!"

"We killed two blokes wiv a valuable book dat just 'appened to cross our paths. An' she's written in der back like she woz added late on. Maybe pointin' us in der direction someone wants us to go".

"I trust Percy. He risked his life for us, twice, yet if he did not lead us into those brutes, then he must be tracked by someone who did. Whoever it is, knows that Percy works for Zuhma and Garzanthanon has the Book of the Dead. If that someone also desires the book, it would behoove them to lead us to a thief capable of stealing it ..."

"BJ's name is in this book, which implicates her in Stalks' criminal activities, which conveniently incentivizes her to help us. Perhaps Stiller was stiffed and now he's working for a rival of Garzanthanon?"

Zuhma’s Sewer Quest
Nice Neighborhood

Percy leads the group back to the tavern you stayed at the night before, eventually leaving the group to their business without putting up any kind of argument, presumably heading back towards the abode of Zuhma.

This tangled web of uncertainty continues to constrict the group, who barely knows who they should trust anymore at this point.

Actions?

Any specific actions before lunchtime the next day?

Torbath

Torbath will offer to make Maag Invisible today. Assuming Maag accepts then Torbath will cast the spell in one the of the rooms not out in public. (So that he will still be at full spells the next day)

Alordan watches Percy head off and is then suddenly grateful for the warm light of healing.

It doesn’t quite heal the melancholy that seems to smother him at times. So much has happened - most of it he can’t quite understand - since he decided to give up the sailors life to come to the Island. It seems so long ago now….

Theo says, Thank you, Andron and your diety. He's never seen Andron drink wine, ale, mead or spirits before. And he doesn't want to embarrass the brains of the party with a gift in return. So me makes a note to buy something special for the dinner table at the inn tonight.
The frugal ranger will splash for up to 3, no 2, no 3 gp worth of a saucerful of secrets, custard pie, feed my frankenstein, lark's tongue in aspic, pulling mussels, no sugar tonight, or whatever the house specialty may be. [/dialog]

Maag

Maag grins at Andron and claps him on the shoulder. "Cheers for dat!"

He's even happier at Torbath's suggestion of turning him invisible. "Yeah. Dat is a good idea. I reckon i could do some damage like dat. Or at least make sure I get away after der rest of yer get killed!" He roars with laughter.

Making sure his comrades are healed up to full strength before he sleeps, Andron uses his healing prowess to good effect.

Torbath uses his arcane skills to turn the huge half-orc thug completely invisible, much to the glee of ol' Maag. Now the only way to guess his whereabouts is by his unique scent.

Theo pays for an extra something something after dinner to thank his friends, capping their meal off with a little tutti frutti, sugar sugar, and one savoy truffle for himself.

Feanol remains distant and silent, as is her way of late. She often mumbles something about leaving the group for bigger and better things. Alordan thinks back to his sailing days, trying to remember just how long he has been away from his last crew at this point.

Actions?

This place seems secure enough to your trained eyes, so will you post guards while resting through the night or not?

Theo is well pleased with the house tutti frutti, sugar sugar, and especially the savoy truffle. He'd always wondered what one of those was. He had a little sugar rush. You guys can sleep if you'd like. I don't feel like sleeping yet, I'll take a watch.

"Thank you, Mr. Theo. I had not the like since my days in Niole Dra. I had almost resigned myself to never partaking in such luxuries again. Yes, I think a watch is a good idea, particularly if the inn has any additional customers this evening. If our Mr. Percy was the subject of divinations, I would expect a replacement, forthwith."

Maag

"Yeah, der food was a nice touch Theo. I cannot believe dat dey do not serve jellied eels an' pie wiv chips 'ere though. I thought dat dis was a classy place. I shall 'ave to leave a scathin' review in der guestbook when we leave. "

Maag looks over at Andron. "I might need yer 'elp wiv dat. I know plenty of scathin' words, I just cannot spell a lot of dem. Especially der best ones".

"I will also 'ave a go at a guard shift. Yer just won't know which one 'coz yer can't see me!"
Maag lets out a low chuckle. "Seriously, if yer 'ear some mysterious snorin' comin' from somewhere, it's not me, alright?"

Theo's mind and senses have some difficult adjusting to the phenomenon of Maag's words booming out from a seemingly empty space in the room. He subtly eases a step backward and to the side, away from the voice. So as to avoid any chance of the mutual mortification of accidentally brushing a body part against an invisible half-orc butt.
Assuming that Maag is already invisible....

Alordan gives thanks for the sweets. He’s still lost in his thoughts but offers up a guard watch. “I can’t sleep really”

The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma’s Sewer Quest
Nice Neighborhood

Wisely setting up guards throughout the night, despite the secure surroundings inside this inn, whoever is on the final shift (Alordan?) is completely shocked to suddenly see a humanoid figure sitting in one of the chairs that was clearly empty when his shift started.

There was no sound of a door opening, and no footsteps across the floor, but this figure, with a noticeably attractive figure, is sitting there all the same. The ranger rubs his eyes, still listening to the breathing of his sleeping comrades nearby, but the shadowy figure stays there in the chair, basking in the darkness where there was assuredly nobody sitting earlier.

Alordan blinks a final time to calm his nerves. Danger has returned but at least it has been polite about it.

“Morning. Can we help you with anything”

Oops! Not sure why I’m waiting for the sleepers to act.

The Ethereal Marketplace
Zuhma’s Sewer Quest
Nice Neighborhood

The woman fiddles with something in her lap for a moment before a soft blue light suddenly illuminates the entire room, casing the others to stir. Through a squint, Alordan sees their new benefactor the Blue Jester sitting there, dressed in the tightest fighting leather armor he has ever seen. And yes, it’s got a bluish tint to it.

She continues fiddling but looks up at the Ranger, glad to see him moving and talking again. “Get your friends up and ready to go. I had to change our plans a little…..and we need to get moving…….NOW!”

The light and voices is enough to wake the group without help from Alordan, and some may have even understood what the woman sitting in their room just said.
