Horasday the 6th of Molivios 2993 AEP 7:50 PM (Round 1 of combat)
The guardsmen win initiative.
The one in the net fails in his attempt to extract himself by saving vs. paralysis:
[1d20]=11 vs. 14
The wounded guardsman retreats to the caravan. The party may want to use missile weapons since it does not appear that they can catch him before he reaches the caravan given his head start, initiative, and speed (the bonus for full retreat is offset by the lack of light as the guardsman moves away from the lantern carried by their group). His AC is a 5 so a 14 or higher is needed to hit.
Bottom of the round...(Fez has successfully garrotted the one in the net) what does the rest of the party do?

Alishar
In that case he throws his 2nd javelin, hoping to get the last guard before he gets out of range.
Javelin attack [1d20]=2
And then wonders if he should give up that weapon

Thargus
With a growl, Thargus throws his hand axe at the fleeing man.
Thrown hand axe: [1d20]=4 Damage if it hits [1d6]=5
Zzzzzzz...

'Fez' PheasantPlucker
Whispers soft words into the ear of the bandit he is silencing, "Sssh! Depart in peace, don't struggle, just a little more tighter, aah that's the spirit, breathe your last and let go.
Just have a lasting thought that I'm going to skin your face and wear it for my own and then go home and visit your momma ..."
he is still a goblin after all.

Horasday the 6th of Molivios 2993 AEP 7:50 PM (Round 1 recap)
Mudlark fires a sling stone at the fleeing guardsman:
[1d20]=6 and misses.
Jintu fires off two arrows from his bow:
[1d20]=2 which misses even with his 18 DEX score
[1d20]=17 which would have been a hit without his DEX bonus and inflicting damage of:
[1d4]=2 dropping him to the ground less than 100 yards from the caravan.
The guardsman in Fez’s garrote fails to free himself from the entangling net or the stranglehold that the goblin has on him and slowly losses consciousness slipping away with Fez’s words in his ear.
There is one dead guardsman about 10 yards from the main group where there two guardsmen under the influence of Niphos’ Sleep spell that lay along with the “prisoners” two of whom are also under the influence of the spell, one is tangled up in the chains pulled to ground along with the others, and then an unfortunate prisoner who has been struck and killed by Alishar’s javelin.
Combat has ended…what does the party do with the bodies and the unconscious?

'Fez' PheasantPlucker
Unsticks the javelin from the dead prisoner, "Best not mention that fumble eh?" he says, passing the weapon back.
He stuffs his Cheese-wire Garrotte back up his sleeve and untangles his hammock/net before searching the dead guard, stripping him of usable trove like weapons and helmet.
"Anybody want to change into this armour? Not dented much and only a drip of blood. 25gp?" he offers.

Alishar
(to Fez as takes back that javelin) Yes, I'll be on watch. Don't think I'm a good choice to talk to the prisoners. (helps keep watch w/Athena after retrieving his other javelin as well)

Thargus
Goes to recover his two hand axes, then goes to look over the prisoners.
What armors are they wearing? Thargus might be interested in an upgrade
Anyone wants to step up with questions? Anyone is more... Huh... Diplomat?

To recover Gelli's arrows fired in the dark you need to roll a 4 on the d4 for each missile. Alishar you can roll a 5 or 6 on a d6.
The guardsmen wear leather armor breastplates with overlapping red stained metal plates that appear like fish scales as well as leather leg and arm greaves. Their defensive score would be better than leather or studded leather armour but not as good as Thargus' banded mail nor could it be worn by adventures who require stealth. Two of them had bows and quivers of arrows and the other two had spears. All four had long swords with a boar's head on the pommel.

Alishar you can recover the Javelin which struck the "prisoner" but it appears your second missile is lost to the darkness. It may be possible to find it in the morning light.
Horasday the 6th of Molivios 2993 AEP 8:00 PM
In addition to their weapons and armor, the guardsmen each have backpacks which contain 5 days of iron rations, waterskins partially filled with water, bedrolls, a tinder box, and a small boar carved from basswood and stained black. Each one has a belt purse which has 1, 2, 5, and 20 GPs (the purse with 20 GPs also has a set of dice). There are the following items found among their backpacks: a key, two sets of manacles and keys, a 50’ coil of rope, a grappling hook, a bundle of firewood, and 6 torches amongst the backpacks. Binding and gagging the “sleeping” guards and going through their possessions will take approximately 20 minutes. If you want to drag the dead guardsmen off the path and into the woods, it will take another 30 minutes. Please decide what you keep and who will stow it on their persons (the boars are non-encumbering items while the other items will take a single slot. The GPs can go in a purse or backpack up to a 100 coins before they take a slot) updating your character sheets and movement rates if they change.
The “prisoners” are short humanoids with yellowish skin and unkempt black hair. Unfortunately, one of them is dead as a result of the errant javelin thrown during the ambush. Two are under the influence of Niphos’ spell while the last one is connected to the others by leg chains which dragged him to the ground when the others collapsed from the arcane magic. He appears to be the shortest among the group -- no more than four feet tall with two large tusk-like teeth which protrude from his lower jaw outside his upper gums.
In Archontean, he says, “I am Stonechewer what do you want with us?”
