Lionel "Freight Train" Williams

Lionel sets the cat down on the side of the room opposite the invading statues. Stay here, Garfield, it isn't safe over there. Not really sure what else to do, Lionel readies his proton pack.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. Roy shivers due to the chill "hmm I wonder if whatever they are doing is some sort of protective spell the noises upstairs are more muffled. Uh what are you doing with the pupilless cat Lionel?"

Joker
Joker grabs the Ecto goggles back, and hustles to the door. Can he determine if the energies the people are generating are positive or negative? I'll do the die roll when I get home.

No die roll needed. Once you look at it through the goggles it is obvious there is a large amount of positive energy coming at the house from the perimeter the witches have made.

You can roll to see if you determine anything else. Mod difficulty

Joker Since I didn't really post an action

Joker hustles out to the witches (?) and looks for one who seems to be an Elder or is otherwise 'In charge'. IF he can find one; Please, we need güç! I must araca git- it will give güç! Open the bariyer!

:lorcl: According to Google Translate, güç is pronounced 'Gooch'. This may add a very humorous element to the witches' response.

The Haunting of 601 North E Street
You've got that eerie feeling.September 10, 2018, 1:15 pm
Unnaturally Cold Inside - Windy outside - Rolling thunder

Joker's Field Device Timer: 2/6
Jason looks at the book in his hand looking for clues about what it is doing. With a cursory glance through the goggles, he can see that though is still pulses with energy, it is no longer linked to whatever fields are in place within the house. The majority of the energy coming from it is positive but there is interaction with all energies around it, positive, negative, and potential.

Roy Speculates that the witches are casting a protective spell since the sounds upstairs seem to have lessened, prompting Joker to rush back outside with the Goggles he snatches back from Jason. He takes a reading and quickly confirms Roy's theory seeing the energy they are focusing on and around the house is one of the positive fields his device is working between.

Lionel sets down the cat on the opposite side of the room as the statues and readies his proton pack.

Mac is on guard speculating a retreat but Roy reminds him they appear trapped, in more ways than one. As if on queue: The Cat continues to hiss and look aggravated from where Lionel set him down, letting out a louder hiss and arching its back as The Statues begin breaking through the glass of the window and pushing their way in.
OrngCt.jpg

S1 the first one to climb in is an awkward long-limbed but short gargoyle, hunched over and pushing through the glass with a grumble and looked around at the ghostbusters before choosing one and spreading its wings to charge them, using his wings to power his leap at:
1=Roy
2=Jason
3=Mac
4=Lionel
[1d4]=1

Roy!
Moves v 10 [3d6]=7 Muscle [3d6]=9 =Damage

He misses and lands in the Game Room.
S2 is smaller still. A statue of what looks like a small fairie that shoots through the glass and is flitting about the ceiling like a hummingbird. Her glowing green eyes looking about as she chooses who to attack as well:
1=Roy
2=Jason
3=Mac
4=Lionel
[1d4]=2

Jason!
Moves v 10 [5d6]=16 Muscle [1d6]=4 =Damage

She moves like lightning and slams into Jason before he can react, and knocks him back into the fireplace.

Roll straight Muscle to soak damage and I will make adjustments in the next post.
S3 is larger and closer to actual human size and is still climbing through the broken window buying you a little time before you need to deal with her, though the sight of the Angel with glowing orange eyes is a bit off-putting as it hisses, throwing a leg over the windowsill to put a foot inside the room with you.

You can also hear breaking glass in the Guest Room to your south, undoubtedly more good news heading your way.

Meanwhile, as Joker moves out to the witches and tries to find a woman in charge but quickly finds that though there are ladies here of all ages there is no single witch who stands out other than the redhead that ran into them earlier as they were getting ready to enter the house, and that is only because he recognizes her. Despite any speaking or pleading, not a single one will respond as they seem completely focused on the house and their chanting.

First, your muscles and your moves are the same so no worries there. You soaked 9 out of 7 and took it on the chin like a champ. No damage.
But this was not a dodge. You will get a chance to dodge moving forward as we take combat in half rounds compared to usual (especially where the Joker Gadget is concerned)

Joker
Semi-frantic by now, Joker pushes between two of the chanting people, trying to force his way through whatever barrier is there.

I'm protecting him! I don't want the statues to hurt him- or her. Haven't checked yet. Lionel snaps off a round from his proton pack at S3.

The Haunting of 601 North E Street
You've got that eerie feeling.September 10, 2018, 1:18 pm
Unnaturally Cold Inside - Windy outside - Rolling thunder

Joker's Field Device Timer:  2.5/6
Joker gets frustrated, his blood boiling a bit and causing him to lose his temper.  He charges as if to break the barrier.  He suddenly remembers what Roy had said about it being like a kind of spongy brick wall.  Non-Newtonian fluid... That term comes to his mind as he find himself flying through the air in what seems like extreme slow motion.  When he landed, it was flat on his back.  The proton pack strapped to him broke the fall but darn near broke his back as well.  There is a crunch and grinding sound as the pack hits and slides across the concrete of the sidewalk.  Joker will spend the next turn trying to get off his back like a turtle. Lose one turn.

Mac snaps into action and takes a shot at the nearest statue S3 which is also the largest.  Just as the angel statue steps through the broken window and straightens up, it holds up its arms and wings to give a hissing screech before Mac blasts her with a proton beam.  The screech becomes a scream, and the entire thing begins to shake and rattle before a pinkish vapor emits from it, causing the entire statue to fall, once more inanimate and crumbles once it hits the ground and that vapor... simply put... vaporizes for the most part heading straight up into the ceiling to disappear.

Roy turns and fires, his reactions good and on target to the awkward gargoyle.  Being at point-blank range certainly helps and he also locks on a beam.  I went ahead and rolled for you. He yields much the same result as the statue howls as if in pain and suddenly goes stiff and falls to the ground where it shatters.  The vapors rise quickly up and through the ceiling, out of sight.
Lionel raises his proton beam but before he can squeeze off the shot, Mac has dispatched the nearest statue.  Not wasting a good roll though he quickly adjust and lands a beam on the fairie statue that is flitting across the ceiling and tries to land a hard shot but she is simply too fast!

Jason took it on the chin like a champ from that same statue a moment ago and other than a sore spot will be non the worst for wear. Zero Damage and finally stops seeing stars.

With 2 of the 3 attacking statues in the room down:

S2 dodges out of the way of Lionel's shot and most seems to pout before divebombing him in retaliation.  Lionel might be surprised to see how fast she moves, because like a concrete bullet one second she is several yards up and away, the next, he is knocked down and hurting as badly as he did after any hard tackle he can remember.

Roll straight muscles, no ghost die or brownie points to see how much damage you can soak up.
From the door to the southeast of the room, the sounds of glass have stopped but instead, more garden statues have entered the room.  One S4 looks like a rather angry garden gnome carrying a small garden trowel, and the other S5 a statue of a lady not unlike the virgin Mary with an angelic face and calm demeanor, carrying a large rose in one hand.

The Gnome gnashes his gnarly teeth and charges with a small yell towards Lionel, seeing an easy target!
Gnome Moves v 10 [4d6]=15 Muscle [2d6]=11
He begins stabbing at Lionel with his little trowel drawing blood!

Once more, roll straight muscles, no ghost die or brownie points to see how much damage you can soak up.
but...
No sooner than the gnome lands on the down ghostbusters, there is a blur of Orange that keeps the Gnome from doing anymore damage, knocking the Gnome off of him and there is a horrible screech of an angry cat!
Orange Cat Moves v 10 [4d6]=14 Muscle [2d6]=4
When the gnome is knocked several feet away there is much orange fur flying in the air but also a sudden spike in PKE in the room that sends Jason to feeling like someone just jolted him with a hand buzzer between his ears.  There is a vibration in the air and the statue shatters.
 The cat sits calmly and begins licking his paws casually as the pink vapor rises to the ceiling.
S5 looks from the scene on the floor up to Mac and points her rose at him. A lavender mist spews forth like a cone towards him.

Roll Mod Moves to dodge.  If you are successful feel free to roll that again to fire your proton stream, otherwise stand by for results.
