Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
gramble hands over the coin.
all right big brain, let's catch you up.
gramble tells Andron what happened after he was knocked out emphasizing his heroic lifting of he gate, finding the ring, the note about the ring in the bull nose and treasure room, and the room that had all the trash thrown in it

Lerrick
The cleric chimes in Also Andron, I was hoping you could use an identifying spell to help us understand the purpose of the powder and the liquid. We believe that they may play a role in the possibility of bringing the paladin back to life. I know he can be a pain but his heart is in the right place. I know there is a cost. I'd gladly pay you for your services with my share of any of the treasure we find on the island.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Andronichishche climbs aboard and hands over a gold coin for transportation. He quietly listens as Gramble updates him on events that occurred after he was knocked unconscious. "Thank you Mr. Gramble. I am actually aware of what happened while incapacitated. It's difficult to explain, but I may have some questions regardless. That said, I believe you saved my life with your quick act of strength. You have my sincere gratitude. I shall also endeavor to be more careful in the future."
He procures the familiar looking map of the complex from his pack and unfolds it to show the group, indicating an area pointed to with a red arrow. "I expect this is the bull's nose alluded to in the note."
Andron nods solemnly at Lerrick's request. "Indeed. I am very keen on identifying the nature of the powder, but I require one hundred gold pieces worth of white pearl. The Hi-Lo was only able to provide seventy five. Let us hope this treasure contains more pearls. I expect we will have need of Sir Crestbrook's altered detection ability. As for the box, it did not radiate of magic so an identification spell would be useless. However, I do have a theory about it's purpose ..."
"Do you still have the Maedar's head?"

Andronichishche next turns to address Maag and Alordan. "I've had an opportunity to review the events that occurred on the island and I have a question for each of you. Cora wrote in her journal that when she found the amulet in the altar she also saw something quite disturbing. She provided no description, however. Mr. Maag, when you discovered her journal, did you find anything else? Also, when the group first encountered Cora, to most of you she appeared to be a human female. Except for Mr. Alordan. You saw something else before her death. Can you describe what exactly you saw?"
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Not with me but I know where it is. I tried to use it as an offensive weapon against a group of kobolds, hopping that the eyes would petrify them. It didn't work. I left it wrapped inside of a sack located at by the southern wall of the room inside the cave entrance. I hope it is still there when we get back. The cleric sighs, obviously upset with herself that she discarded it in such a way.Quonundrum wrote:Andronichishche [/dialog]

"Didn't see much really. We heard some hissing before she spoke to us and it turned out to be snakes she had hidden in her robes. We never saw her face until...after. The amulet, now, that was just creepy. It had a mind of it's own I think and what may have corrupted Cora."Quonundrum wrote:Andronichishche next turns to address Maag and Alordan. Andronichishche reassuredly pats Lerrick on the shoulder. "Do not be concerned. My interest is primarily in learning more about Marquees and what happened to him. I don't expect we will require his head for anything else on the island."

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Andronichishche strokes his chin pensively for a few moments before answering. "Cora had told Carucenus, indeed insisted, that the minotaur's name is Brutus. Although, he never did approach close enough for her to see him. It could very well have been Marquees posing as the minotaur and bringing her gifts."
"Mina said that Marquees used the name Melania, or something similar, in his ... encounters ... with Sister Theresa. He also appeared to believe that Mina was Melania, as when she told him to stop attacking us he obediently stopped almost instantly. Perhaps he thought the same about Cora and used the persona of Brutus to interact with her without accidently turning her to stone."

Andronichishche tilts his head towards Gramble. "Quite right, Mr. Gramble. It is the logical conclusion." He taps an index finger on his chin while he considers his next words. "The name certainly doesn't evoke an image of a medusa, though. Was she human like Marquees, but transformed into a medusa by the amulet? The tattoo on her forehead ... M S ... suggests she was perhaps branded as a slave or exiled?"
"The amulet was bound in twining snakes. Cora, whom we know was a priestess of Athena, claimed to be a servant of Apep. An evil serpent god of darkness, chaos, destruction, and death. Cora also had a strange red rash around her eyes, and her body decomposed rapidly like Melania's ... the medusa ... leaving a dessicated, shriveled husk as if their very life force itself was drained by the amulet. Although, in Cora's case the process was incomplete, which may be the reason she rose as an undead."
"In any case, I believe you may have inadvertantly saved Cora from a fate much worse than death."

Just need to make sure Sir Crestbrook never learns of it ... he wouldn't be able to fit his ego into the treehouse tavern.

A stone tear appears on one of many stone statues which are located within a cavern at a nearby island. The stone figure appears to be smiling.Quonundrum wrote:Just need to make sure Sir Crestbrook never learns of it ... he wouldn't be able to fit his ego into the treehouse tavern.
