Kainaxarthos
"There were snakes! You know I'm conflicted about snakes!" Kain moves to join their leader and tries to smack the snakeman attacking him.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
But these are SUPER Snakemen!

You are correct, I completely missed tracking that first round of damage.

We can consider that one really dead and you can target another.
Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Drest
Drest moves to the closest snakeman still up and attack it.
Short Sword +2/+4 vs. Reptilian [1d20+4]=14+4=18 to hit [1d6+5]=2+5=7 damage

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Sik moves towards the nearest snakeman and starts swinging, though he is still holding back to keep himself protected.
+1 AC this round. not sure if I'm close enough for my attack rate to not reset
fighting conservatively (with FA): [1d20+2]=6+2=8 damage with battle axe [1d10+2]=9+2=11

Magda
Quarterstaff (makes her AC=8, 1/1, FA 0) [1d20]= 12 Damage [1d6+1]=2+1 = 3
Magda sets down her lantern once again, and steps up warily to the snake-man that is flanked by Sik and Drest. "Men... always needing more help" she mutters, wielding her staff with the egg-shaped tip.

Under The Zakath Desert
Back To Underborea?
Still No Idea On Time Or Day
Akhilleus and Kian pair up to kill another Snakeman before it gets a chance to attack again.
While the final enemy is attacked by ther others, it decides to throw its hands out wide, dropping its sword in an apparent surrender. It looks around on the floor at all the dead and shakes its head back and forth. "No kill! Live!" It hisses in a distorted common tongue.

Drest
Drest places the tip of his snakeman slaying sword at the snakeman's neck. "Move a hair and you die! Sik, tie his hands up quick."
"Keep your eyes open, there are more of them out there."
If moves at all or resists Sik Drest will try to kill him.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Sik pulls some fishing line out of his pack, and ties the snakeman's hands tightly, relishing in the creature's pain.
"Filthy animal. You tricked my people into debasing themselves, to lure them in here to take part in your foul deeds, whatever the hell it was you have down there in that pit of yours. You want to live? I can grant you that, but I'll have you begging for death before long. But you won't get it unless you do exactly what we say."

Kainaxarthos
"What now? We need to move, I think. Those others beyond the bones will come soon." Kain thinks for a bit. "Down this hall is that library, then the secret passage to that stairway, and the path down to that underworld area. Maybe there's another way back up."
He looks to the Shaman. "How long does it take to do your thing and ease some pain?"

Akhilleus
"Let at least one of us stay with the serpent-man. The rest, follow me. We're going to attack those who stayed behind. They’re probably expecting us to stay here and take a defensive stance. Let’s give them what they deserve with a lightning-fast attack."
Having said this, the Cimmerian warrior heads south, his sword still dripping with blood.

Magda
Using the end of her staff, she slides the snake-man's sword away from it and flings it toward the rest of the corpses to be looted later. Then she looks from the bound captive to the party's Shaman. "Shall you stay here or shall I, Taibhse?"

Back into the Forest of Bones?
Taibhse would be happy to wait here for the rest of you to return.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Akhilleus changes his mind as he remembers the Forest of Bones. "The Forest of Bones is still there... Fine, you're right, Kain, let's go back to the library and further on if need be and look for an alternative means of egress. But I don't like the idea of having those bastards behind us."
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
An idea someone can run with: Sik has some fishing line, which we could potentially use as a trip wire on the southern corridor.
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Drest
"No one is staying behind, that is just plain stupid. Gag him Sik and we will drag him along. He becomes a problem and I will kill him. Got it snake face?"

Under The Zakath Desert
Back To Underborea?
Still No Idea On Time Or Day
The final remaining Snake-man is bound and gagged after refusing to say another word to his captors. He stares into the eyes of the aggressive Barbarian often, as if trying to delve into the man's mind in some way.
The group agrees to move back into the next room before traversing the long narrow path that leads to the stairway and ladder down below and also out to the switchbacks that leads back into the pitch blackness of the chamber to Underborea.
Along their travels, they find no more snakes, men, or any combination of the two. The way forward appears clear and there is no noise to indicate otherwise.
Actions?
Not sure of your actual plan here, since there is no library that I remember describing. Are you thinking about trying the unchecked path beyond the huge mushrooms that you didn't investigate last time?

Akhilleus
The warrior momentarily removes his helmet to wipe the sweat from his forehead before putting it back on. "It's possible that if we go deeper, we'll find another way out, yes, but it's also possible that we won't. And something tells me that the farther we go, the more dangers we'll face. The pig-man is still out there, roaming free.
I vote that we wait for those serpent men. It'll take them quite a while to free themselves from the bone field, yes, but during that time, we can rest and keep watch. Who knows? They might give up after seeing the carnage we've wrought and leave. Let's take position somewhere they wouldn't expect an attack from, and if after a long time they still haven't come, we'll make our move and, in the best of cases, leave this place like we wanted to do."

"I think only one of the snake men was stuck in the bones. The rest were casting spells from the other side of it. I am not for going deeper unless we have to but will go with the group decision."

Room with Secret passage behind bookcase, library. Tomato, tomahto.
Kainaxarthos
Kain nods at the counsel of Akhilieus. "Sounds fair. If we're not being pursued, then we have time to regroup. Where should we set an ambush?"
He gently prods the Shaman to work his particular brand of magic.
