Soot Spider Attack
Round 1
Jonas hops to his slightly "web"bed feet with an amazing quickness and grace. The huge arachnid jumps after him, trying to sink in its fangs. Jonas blocks the attack but can't swing the long pole around in time for an effective counter attack.
Kielif also flounders his attack as the thing rushes past him, clearly intent on killing Jonas.
Due to his proximity this next round, I will also give Vhing an attack (at -2 due to his weakness).

Vhing Cranepool
Half tempted to just throw Shoo-Fly at the beast, Vhing mutters and puts the puss securely in the hood of his cloak. Raising his sledgehammer over his head for some mighty orcish 'bloodlust stomp', Vhing vainly makes a couple of steps before 'bloodlust' becomes 'bloodlost' and nearly fainting. His hammer impacting rather upon the chair that Jonas is behind crushing it into smaller shattered pieces.
To Hit d20 - 2 = 4

Burly grabs Doubtful by the arm before (hopefully) he opens the kitchen cabinet. "I hear something rustling around in there. Might want to stand back and open it from the side. What do you think?"

Danny Cruester
seeing that Doubtful wasn't really interested in the goblin bling, just drops the stuff right there and - for reasons only known to himself - runs up the stairs. What awaits him up there ?

Soot Spider Attack
Round 2
Ben and Vhing futilely enter the combat with the huge spider. Vhing nearly passes out for his efforts.
Not one of the 4 members attacks even comes close to contacting the arachnid. However, it's need to keep moving to avoid being crushed prevents it from biting the nimble Jonas for a third time in a row.
Danny suddenly runs up the back stairway and disappears from sight.
Actions for round 3!

"Come on!" he cries out.

Keilif:
Altough the spider is quite large, its agility keeps it from becoming pulp on the end of Keilif's mallet. The crabber takes aim once again trying to crush the immense insect.

"Danny! Wait on the rest of us!" Burly says, letting go of Doubtful's arm and hurrying over to the bottom of the stairs. "Danny! You okay?"

Vhing Cranepool
Vhing tries to raise his bludgeoning weapon for another strike but with his strength sapped, the weight just tips him over backwards.
(To hit: d20-2=1)
For some reason he struggles to fathom, Vhing finds himself prone on the floor blocking the doorway, eye to eye with a mangy cat, that his very heavy head was trying to use as a pillow. Vhing mumbles almost incoherently, "don't let the spider cocoon me in it's web and drag me off up the chimney.". Feeling tired and having a dim brain ache that tells him to act emu like,"if I don't move it won't notice me,"Vhing closes his eyes.

Laughing Spider Attack
Round 3
After being unable to even lift his hammer over his head this time, Vhing falls over drooling, hoping Alec or Ermulf will hop over him to confront the evasive spider.
Jonas, Keilif, and Ben are all equally as effective with their attacks but, at least they are able to stay on their feet after missing.
The spider gets tired of not being able to effectively bite Jonas. It spins around quickly and makes a strange hissing noise that almost sounds like laughter. It takes a bite at the leg of Ben this time and it's fangs finally find flesh.
(2 dam and save vs. Poison please)
Actions!
I will let the others catch up after this round.
Alec or Ermulf can get into the room to attack if they want to.
Injuries:
Jonas, slightly
Ben, moderately
Vhing, seriously

"By the dark depths, that HURTS!.." and tries to swing back down on the bastard.
Save vs. poison:
[1d20] = 2
...and if he is still standing swings his make-shift club:
To Hit [1d20] = 2
Damage [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4

Vhing Cranepool
Too fatigued to stand, Vhing searches through his rear pouch, digging out a small but sharp penknife. If Ben collapses he will slice open the wound and offer to suck the poison out.
(Maybe there are some things worse than death?)

Doubtful
What in the sweet hells is wrong with that boy?! We'll have to tether all the fools together and prod 'em to walk in front!
Doubtful, grinding his teeth, rushes to the foot of the stairs with Burly and peers to see if he can spot Danny; also listening intently to what he can hear up the stairs.

"We can't let him go by himself," Burly says to Doubtful. "Let's go!"
Rolling pin in hand, Burly heads up the stairs.
