Agrippo will spear a rat or two running nearby whilst fending off the lunging rats with his shield:

to hit 8, damage 8,

There is a wild look in his eyes, ", that is another one on the kebab skewer",. He spits and curses loudly, as to Tibbius he mourns, "Tibbs fell, he's horsemeat now, the rats were summoned crawling out of every nook and cranny. hundreds of them. Unless you're a pied-piper we can't kill them all, the swarm is too many.". Agrippo in his bitterness and rage will run around the courtyard and squash every mangy creature he can, even to biting them in two if they get over his shield.

"Do we have any oil? We could make a flame wall to frighten off the rodents. Summoned eh. Poor Tibbius! We need to recover his belongings. asks the gnome preparing for the onslaught.

Robert says, "Perhaps we would be safe on the other side of the gate? I will speak to the rats. If you have questions let me know them."

Robert moves there before casting if possible.

Robert from a safe location cast animal friendship on a rat and speaks with it.

"Please tell your friends not to harm my friends. Who summoned you my friend? We do not wish to harm you but we must protect ourselves. Do you know Helga the lady with our friend you ate?"

Upon hearing that Tibbius fell Iluq flys into a rage, sprinting past the gate and into the courtyard to face the rats, his hammers swinging wildly.

Dual +1 Hammer attack: To Hit [1d20+1] = 16+1 = 17, [1d20+1] = 8+1 = 9; damage [1d4+2] = 2+2 = 4 (+1v.L), [1d4+2] = 1+2 = 3 (+1v.L)

Melampus yells, Don't bother fighting the rats, just get to the other side of the gate. The lady was a vampire all along, she summoned the rats, killed Tib, and vanished into mist! We need to get that gate open and leave now!

Robert looks around for any raised platforms he might be able to get on where he feels the rats can't get to or some barrier he can get behind. If none exist, Robert forgoes casting and simply uses his scimitar and shield to fend them off.

Did we figure out the + on the scimitar?

Scimitar ? to hit[1d20] = 10 Damage[1d8] = 4 just add in any + to hit and damage.

"Its important we find out how Tib died. If he was killed by a vampire this may be our only chance to ensure he stays dead without having to face him again as an undead monster spell slinger." says the gnome.

hmm Tib died really? I guess I missed that post. :

"yes Tibbs fell, even our doughty cleric's prayers could avail him not." says Agrippo pointing to Melampus.
"Hey you guys coming or joining Strahd?!"
Agrippo remembers Fendts call as they left the carnage at the carriage house," joining Strahd..? I believe you were in Strahds company long before we turned up and now Vorkath and Tibbs lay their lives down so that others may be free of more then mere shackles. "

In between dialogue with the party Agrippo will maintain melee with any chasing rats:
1st melee 20 (crit) + 2 = 22, damage 10

2nd attack: to hit 10, damage 6

Melampus ejaculates, We need to go now! Tibbius rising is the least of our concern. There are more rats where these came from. Two of us are without armor. We have lost experience, we needn't lose lives. We need to get out of here. Forget Tibb, get out of here and to town so we can survive this night!

Fendt glares at Agrippo "If you really want to act like that to me then I shall part ways with you." and Fendt heads off towards town.

Robert says,"This is pointless for the moment. Lets get back to town. Rest and regroup then return with a renewed strength. I suggest when we return we have a plan."

Robert heads off with Fendt.

"I will meet you back in the village then!"Castran drinks his potion of invisibility and will climb the portcullis a little. He will wait for the rats to pass and follow the fleeing group.

dont fighters get one attack per level against less than 1hd creatures. And doesn't speak with animals mean that animals won't attack whilst the spell is active?
