Perhaps some loud sounds of drinking and merriment that they are not part of?
There must be some roudy drinking song that the bandits would be familiar with that we can all sing?
I'm sure everyone here is up to belting it out, no?
Let's find a place where this tunnel will echo the sounds maybe.
That would sure burn me up if I was waiting for food to be brought or was stuck on a guard tower."
Gustov cleans his blades and looks over the nearest corpses for anything of interest.
Deceidon agrees with Gustov and the group sets this in motion. The troops will take positions for ambush.

After having collected some food and drink to pass off as a bunch of bandits fooling around, a couple of angry archers comes marching towards the tunnel backed by a few more bandits. "Oy! What do you think you lazy good for nuthins are doing?!"
"Yeah! Taking all the supplies for your selves deserves a good beating, special treatment from the boss even!"
The lure worked, but the group did not bring in as many bandits as they had hoped, only 5 showing themselves.
Actions and rolls please. Be sure to include your group's surprise roll, or I will do it for you.

Deceidon / tunnel
Deceidon lurks with the others, hoping to gain surprise. He positions himself for a backstab with sword if possible, otherwise will employ bow.

Once tooley chimes in with Flynn's actions, I will start the second ambush.

Flynn throws off his disguise and lunges at the first of the bandits.
"It's an ambush!" he shouts to the gates.
"Send help!
Hoping to draw more out as he gives an impressive flurry.
He gets ready to grab Amber's hand and make for the gate should the party rush ahead.

And so it begins. Not being able land a sneak attack from behind, Deceidon resorts to his bow at close range. His first arrow is a misfire, and flies over the wooden pallisade walls up ahead. Shouts can be heard from the distance as it stirs up even more bandits along with Flynn's shout of an ambush. Deceidon then fumbles once more with the bow, breaking the actual bow string.
Gustov also begins on the wrong foot as his dagger cleaves air the first time around. His second attack cuts down one of the archers. Flynn, not wanting to be left behind, jumps in with a flurry and takes out the other archer with ease. The three remaining bandits in the tunnel are quickly cut down by Captain Hal, two of his men, and Laywin. The second ambush was not as gracefully performed as the first, but they still managed to get through unharmed.
"How long will this last though," one of the soldiers thinks as the adventuring group then turns their attention to the now open bandit gates. Ten... twenty.... thirty bandits start to swarm in. But they keep their distance, just out of range of any fired arrows. They mean to bring the fight to their own turf, out in the open fighting pit....
Actions please.

"When this fight..." Flynn says parrying a blow, "looks to end badly for THEIR side, those other bandits will rain arrows on us!"

Captain Hal grows visibily restless as he and his men are so close to their goals now. If the group waits any longer, the captain may just start to take matters into his own hands, the group's safety cast into the wind...

"Charge men! Wedge formation! Make for the open gates!" yells Deceidon.
"Soldier - I need your bow. Take mine, restring and use."
Deceidon suggests the adventurers stay in the middle-rear of the wedge, so as the soldiers open the way and engage, the party can push ahead and make the inside of the camp.

Flynn will grab Amber and place her in the position Deceidon suggested, scoop her in his arms and kiss her hard.
"Remember what I said. Stay near our friends." he then makes for the front of the wedge to lead the charge. He will not let others be hurt while he hides behind them.
"Charge! " he joins Deceidons battle cry.

The current map is still valid, just haven't got around to filling it up. Will do so when everyone enters combat, to know where everyone is situated.
The adventuring group charges the bandits, trying to make a break for the main gates while they are still open, however, they must first wade through a wall of enemies before they can slip into the camp, enemies that start to charge as well when everyone is visibly out in the open.
Actions and rolls. No surprise rounds here, no ambushes, its a straight on fight. Deceidon is now making use of one of the soldier's bows, a short bow to be precise.

Gustov
Gustov charges in with the soldiers.
Gustov, right hand dagger melee (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+5] = 17+5 = 22 | damage, [1d4+6] = 3+6 = 9
Gustov, left hand dagger melee (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+4] = 12+4 = 16 | damage, [1d4+6] = 4+6 = 10
Gustov, right hand dagger melee (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+5] = 14+5 = 19 | damage, [1d4+6] = 4+6 = 10
Gustov, right hand dagger melee (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24 | damage, [1d4+6] = 1+6 = 7
Gustov, right hand dagger melee (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+5] = 16+5 = 21 | damage, [1d4+6] = 1+6 = 7

A glorious fight ensued, but I don't feel like explaining it all

. Deceidon had me roll for him and both teams had the same intiative, I rolled for you guys, but Flynn and Deceidon got to go first. In a nutshell here is what happened: Both groups charged each other, Deceidon fired off two arrows, his first one taking down a bandit, his second missing. In the first round, 26 bandits were slain out of the 30 present, the last four are running away now through the still open gates.
Whitsell took a critical strike from one of the bandits
losing 12 hit points,
Gustov also took a hit, but
only lost 3 hit points. Some of the soldiers are weakened from their injuries in battle, but the rest of the adventurers are unscathed. Amberlynn is currently going around, quickly applying some first aid to those who were hurt, mainly Whitsell and Gustov first.
Gustov's hit point restoration:
Healing [1d3] = 1
Whitsell's hit point restoration:
Healing [1d3] = 2
Also, I didn't feel the need to update the map because most of the initial battle was resolved in the first round, amazingly enough, and everyone will be going through the main gates anyways; with that said, I will provide a new map of the bandit camp soon.
Actions and rolls!

Flynn will make sure the others aren't outmatched before calling for the captain to follow him in a mad dash for the gates.
