"I need generate to calculate jump and maneuver and navigation to fly. I can release generate when I've got jump ready."

He'll prep the jump and hopefully release generate for when Donovan needs to do some shooting. If he needs to jink, he'll call out and see how Zaki balances things. The goal is to kill maneuvering before jump to ease the potential for damage.
Donovan calls out to Zaki as he squirms into his vacc suit. "Give Flighty Maneuver/Evade instead of regular Maneuver so he can dodge. Give me Target for now so I can at least fire up the systems."
The missiles should still have been a ways to go and Flighty needs navigation to keep heading for the jump point. Eris, if that is correct, he'll say the following.

"Hold on to that change for me. I have to have maneuver and navigation to keep heading for the jump limit. I'll let you know when to switch to maneuver/evade."

If Donovan is correct and the missiles are going to arrive sooner, he'll let the instruction Donvan gave stand.
Zaki shakes her head. "Okay, so you want Maneuver slash Evade, Generate, Jump, and Target?"

You are correct, it is going to be 30 minutes before the missiles intersect with your ship. You have some time to do things.

OOC: Terry's post listed Generate twice. I think he meant Generate, Navigate and Maneuver. You can have one more installed...Target or Jump. You'll need Target to use the weapons at all. You'll need Jump when you are about to Jump. Oh, and I know Donovan is going to want Predict-1 or Gunner Interactive when he's shooting at the missiles, but what will you unload to give him either of those?

See, there is some fun in the old Computer rules! :)

Maybe Flighty needs generate twice because he’s really bad at that. ;) Thanks, Eris.

002 Jenghe/Regina (1810) Space Combat Round 1

by Eris
OOC: Notes on this Space Combat

Donovan is in Turret One and Sigrun is in Turret Two each can fire independently.

  • To Hit: 8+ on 2d6 after DM's are applied. Natural 12 automatic hit.
  • DM's to consider:
    • Target size: Missile is -1; Opponent Ship is +1
    • Target distance: Very Long -5; Long -3; Near -1; Close -0
    • Predict-1: +1
    • Gunner Interact: +2 (Donovan's Gunnery skill); +1 (Sigurn's Gunnery skill)
  • Round 1: Opponent Ship is Out of Range range closing one range band per 5 rounds, Missile 1 & 2 are Very Long range closing one range band per 2 rounds (Long rounds 2&3, Near rounds 4&5, Close 6&7)
  • Round 1: To Hit Missile 2d6-5-1, 8+ (only a 12 will hit). Ship is out of range.
  • If you hold fire and track for this round you get a +1 To Hit on the tracked target next round.
  • Generate will finish this round and can be swapped out for either Predict-1 or Gunner Interact for next round

Will you fire this round and at which missile (1 or 2)?

Karcsi has taken the time gathering and preplacing damage control items around the ship.

Hes near the center ready to sprint to anyplace that might breach.

I do need to let you know I made a mistake about the Navigate program. It is not used in Normal Space and only needs to be loaded and running when the ship is about to go into Jump Space. You can unload it from the Computer leaving only Maneuver, Generate for one turn and Target and have either Predict-1 or Gunner Interactive installed on Round 1. That would improve your ability to hit a missile this round and once Generate ends, both Predict-1 and Gunner Interactive could be loaded until you need to replace Maneuver and one of them to load Navigation and Jump1 to make the Transition to JSpace.

Maneuver - fly ship in normal space.
Maneuver/Evade-1 - fly ship in normal space AND allow performing evasion tactics (based on Pilot skill).
Either of these programs must be loaded and active to Pilot the ship

Generate - create a Jump Tape that is loaded into...
Navigation - ...send the ship through the correct Jump Portal, Worm Hole, Transition Point, whatever it is
Jump-1 - Form and maintain the jump bubble when the ship is in JSpace
Both Navigation and Jump-1 must be loaded and active for the ship to enter JSpace and fly to the proper exit location, but both may be loaded in the round the ship will enter JSpace and don't have to be loaded earlier.

Target - must be loaded and active for the Turrets to be used
Predict-1 - Gives +1 modifier to fire by laser cannon
Gunner Interact - Gives +DM equal to PC Gunnery skill

She designates a priority target to Turret One and begins to track it herself ensuring they pass off updated tracks.
