The rest of the dart players have mostly refocused their attention on the building incident. Any affability (real or false) seems to have evaporated. Roscoe only now seems to be catching on that something might be about to go awry.

Well, all I can say is clearly my skills just don't work like I think they do! My tactical appreciation must be way off for the opposition to be getting situational DMs I'm not "seeing" IC. My impression was this "dive" was both small and contained relatively few people. As per the initial Streetwise check can we please have a "tactical update" on any shady threats and a who's who/where and a confirmation of if Metz is with us? In fairness, if he is we should just leave/have left.

It's not huge, but as stated before there are more than a dozen men playing darts and their lady friends at the table watching.

Somehow, though you're uncertain how, the smell gets worse when you go inside. The lighting is dim, and everything smells sour. It's noisy and at least a dozen people are playing darts against the far wall, yelling or jeering depending on the player and the shot. There are a couple of open tables, or you can go up to the bar.

The bar isn't cozy. There are about 60 or 70 people total, though most are not involved in what is happening. The players and their female companions make up more than a third of the total crowd. Garvin is facing exactly 14 men with rough demeanors. I was applauding his bravery and questioning his wisdom.

Metz is there but is backing away from this scene. He might be looking for a table to dive under.

More than once if you count mixed martial arts as a discipline - means you've always got a bit of somethin' the other bloke 'asn't. Arkar can 'andle 'imself but I've not seen you fight and you'd put yourself right in amongst 'em which wasn't exactly ideal if it all kicked off. That an' the Doc's not got 'is fightin' clobber on tonight. If they'd thought to take 'im 'ostage we'd 'ave been sunk".

"They weren't hostile when I approached them," he responded in a reasonable tone. "My intent was to lose to them in a few games of darts, lower their defenses, and then see if anything occurred to me in how to ask about Mad Dog. My plan might not have worked, but I do not believe I was in any serious danger. If things had not worked out for you, I was prepared to come to your defense. I took the precaution of loading the melee skill package at a significant level and my body is quite strong and fast. I also have some built-in armor. I am glad you were able to de-escalate things so well, though. I will try to take your lessons to heart if we are ever in this situation again."

Metz shook his head. "I don't know what that was, but it certainly isn't what I expected. We could have all been killed just like Mad Dog! The irony of it happening right where he died shouldn't be lost on any of us.

"Let's look around the premises and give the others a call. They might have time to join us while we enjoy a few drinks and lounge about like nobles."

This facility is rather large and well put together. Think of it as a large hotel with some add-ons. You obviously won't get a trip around the sleeping accommodations, but from everything you've heard in the past, they would be very good on a class a starport. There is a rather large bar that is in full use. It's an upscale establishment and the prices reflect that. There are restaurants attached to the hotel, though they are a bit smaller than those outside on the main concourse. Food can also be ordered in the bar and served at a table. There is an extensive gymnasium and all of the other amenities that one would expect a five-star establishment. There is even a real swimming pool.

For those wanting a quieter experience, there is a library with many books and deep leather chairs for spending time away from the bustle of the universe.

Taking the grand tour will also get you into contact with a number of the employees that are seeing to everyone's needs. They are impeccably dressed and exceedingly polite. Honestly, they remind you bit of Roscoe.

After seating yourselves in the bar and ordering drinks, you will spot Akar, Garvin, Lucius, and Roscoe entering the establishment. They seem to have changed from what they were wearing the last time you saw them with the exception of Doctor Metz. Roscoe, in particular, is wearing civilian clothes that are of a rather conservative cut. He takes one look around the bar and nods in seeming satisfaction before the group as a moves over to join you. Drinks can be quickly ordered and served.

The four new arrivals have picked up their TAS identification and are now all set. They were not informed that the manager wished to speak with members of their party.

Once again, the gang's altogether, and no one is in jail or the morgue.

He drops back to check for tails and directs Metz and Roscoe along a route to the TAS including one loop and a choke point to double check for (limited) foot surveillance.

If he successfully RVs with Arkar he briefs him on what occurred and includes him in the conversation below.

Could be an overdose of "brave tablets" but Kid - I'm scared of me! When I offered 'em money for info as a side door out the response was immediate threats. That's not the response I was expectin' an' puts these blokes up a category. They're dangerous - either too drugged up or too stupid to negotiate. That's what recce's for - size up the oppo. In this case it includes the vital decision to play for sleeps or keeps. In this case - I say we kill 'em all".
