"Even going further in, why start rocks back there? Follow stream!" Gyb looks at the forbidding thorns. "Gome-father went in there?", he says dubiously. "If yes, then taken, Gyb thinks".

Bugs

He looks to the others for wilderness advice. "Should we call out now? Gnomes are fine with tight spaces and areas that others avoid. That place looks rather welcoming to me."

Rida

"Lets look around the edge first and see if we can find any spots where a gnome could sneak in. With all those thorns maybe he left behind some sign like a piece of ripped cloth or something."

Loyn-Dwarf fighter

Loyn watches around for any sign of trouble while the thorny thicket is investigated. “I prefer caves and rocky areas rather than poky thorns.”

If you aren't posting an action because you don't have anything to add, I have no way of knowing you're doing that.

The group stops at the sight of the copse of thorny trees, unsure what might reside in such an inhospitable place.

When Rida starts poking around, looking for any signs of a gnome crossing, that same loud roaring you heard last night sounds out again from somewhere nearby, likely from directly inside this small copse.

Looking around the area better does not offer any new clues as to where Bugs father has run off.

Actions?

If anyone wants to try pushing their way into the thorn patch, please give me a Dex check with your next actions.

Haldric has no interest in pushing into the thorn patch, and says so. "Especially with that roaring!"

He freezes in place when he hears the roar… “I don’t think we should linger here, let’s keep moving. Bugs, did Tarlac tell you of any other spots you’re Da may have gone to? Loyn keeps moving along.

A whim strikes him, dangerous as that can be, and Bugs calls out. "Da?! Is that you? Where are you?"

He waits a moment for a reply, and the hurries to catch up with the others.

When none of the party members try to push into the thorny trees, and no clear alternative path around the natural obstacle presents itself, Bugs tries something completely different. Listening intently into the copse for a reply to his shouting, the group is shocked to hear a timid voice call back to them.

"June ya? Ish dat you, boi?"

If this is the voice of the roaring monster you heard earlier, why does it suddenly sound like he is from the Scottish Lendore Isles?

Gyb takes a few steps back and raises his javelin. "Something pretending to be the gnome-father? Or the gnome-father has magic?" He looks at Bugs for confirmation.

Loyn looks surprisingly at Bugs and quietly says…“Junior?… Is that your Da, have we found him? Or is this a nasty trap? He’s hoping for the former.
