I realized after rolling that Bilberta and Palermo should have rolled 1d16 for initiative as they are using two-handed weapons, but it won't change any part of the outcome so I'll proceed as rolled.
Initiative order: Bilberta=Radahn, stone guardian, Zygmund, Irwin, Duala, Palermo, Cotgric=Xerxes
The battle begins in this strange magical sanctum!
Llandrin the elven sage implores the group to move the torches from their wall sconces to the holders around the ice. He moves to grab one of them. The shy urchin and woodcutter prisoners, seeing him as some sort of authority, follow his lead. Wenyld questions the wisdom of such a move, and joins Hailey to remain at the entrance to watch the rock pile and for other dangers.
The remaining eight charge the coalescing pile. A great rumble and smell of rocky dust fills the air as they move to form an enormous rock-shaped humanoid. It is truly massive, about 25 feet tall! Choking back any fear, the party attacks. Radahn strikes first with his dagger. A blue spark shoots from the point of contact!
-3 hp Bilberta swings her axe, chipping away a chunk of stone as another, larger spark dissipates into the air!
-6 hp
The stone behemoth swings an arm (if one can call it that) down towards the party.
Target randomly chosen, influenced by luck score.
Guardian attacks Cotgric [1d20+5]=17+5=22, damage [1d10]=5
The arm comes down upon Cotgric's head with mighty force, shaking the very ground the party stands on. The sound of cracking bone accompanies a spray of blood as the dwarf's lifeless body is compacted to half its size.
Sorry gurusql.
The rest of the party, spackled with dwarven blood, gets their vengeance, each strike producing another spark. Zygmund's longsword sings as he hits.
-2 hp. Irwin deals a mighty blow, shoving his pitchfork into a junction between two massive boulders. An audible spark emits as the pitchfork is thrown from the erstwhile prisoner's hand!
-11 hp, great strike!.
Duala, having been through so much with her slain dwarven friend, is overcome by lust for revenge. She swings mightily, but wildly, and throws herself off balance. She nearly falls, but is able to keep her feet.
Palermo charges with his iron rod, swinging the massive weapon against the stone guardian's flank.
The charge made all the difference! Needed 14 to hit and the bonus took Palermo's attack to 14.
Palermo damage [1d10]=4
The behemoth has taken massive damage from the party. Xerxes finishes it off with a massive swing of his shovel, perhaps a reward for his many prayers to his deity!
Blue sparks emit from the behemoth as it strikes the ceiling of the sanctum with mighty force. The ceiling rumbles as rock begins to fall, caving in the entrance. Boulders begin to fall from the ceiling as the behemoth collapses!
Fantastic rolls, all! I thought this would be a very difficult battle.
Large rocks fall from the ceiling as slivers of dawn's light shine through the ceiling. The danger is not yet over!
I need you all to make a Luck check. You want to roll at or below your Luck score. If you fail this roll, I need a DC 8 reflex check to avoid taking 1d10 damage from the falling boulders. Good luck!
