Torvik squits at the man like a mad dwarf and swings again "Oh no ya don't!" he says while attacking.

“God hath given you one face, and you make yourself another.” ~ Shakespeare's Hamlet
The rogue in the street stops cold at the sight of five riders ahead of him, two of the mounted town guard among them and the man before him threatening to run him down. With a sneer, the culprit drops the knife he holds, "Anything ya say m'lord." Wilwarin emerges bloodied by that knife, "There is another inside asleep. And one who into the building."
Garet tells the two guards to take the man into custody. While he heads into the building with Wilwarin and Erel, Garet remarking, "Show me where he fled." Liviel and Morwen both dismount holding on the reins of their horses. Liviel says, "Not five minutes at the dock and we're already off pursuing criminals Morwen." Morwen smiles, "After what we went through in Belay, I'll gladly trade that for this."
Mediphera looks with relief at the appearance of Niserie, "Most opportune your return kindred. Now you say the others are in peril?" She glances at De'Athyra, and says something softly in Vagary to her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The injured ogre is cut once again by Bryne dagger causing its blood to pool on the floor beneath its feet but once Bryne is within reach he delivers a devastating attack on the nimble ranger ripping into her side and sending her reeling, though she quickly regains her balance.
Thena pivots Rover in hand and looses her balance on the garbage strewn about the room and with a crash, weighed down by her heavy armor crashes to the floor. (Sustaining another 1 point damage and losing her next round of action.) The leering ogre strikes out at where she previous stood and misses her completely as she falls. His companion comes closer to strike her, but he misses her just barely.
Torvik is having none of this magic business and hits the dark stranger with his short sword interrupting his spell and tearing through his side. The man cries out in pain and turns to flee from the dwarf hoping to put the ogres between him and Torvik. (Bonus on your next attack as he turns his back to run.)
From somewhere down the passage you hear Kade furiously trying to dig his way through the debris.
Allies Injured: Bryne -26 (of 30), Thena -1 (of 28), Wilwarin -1 (of 22)

Bryne
Bryne fights back through the pain.
Long Sword [1d20]=13 to hit [1d12]=5 damage
Dagger [1d20]=20 to hit [1d3]=1 damage
Natural 20 with the dagger and a 1 damage, LOL.
Could I get an update on Bryne's hp, she is in bad shape by my count.

Athan
"How can we help?!" - he asked Wilwarin.
(I know he mentioned one who 'went' into the building - did he show which building?)
Likewise Athan allows Mave to dismount, and then follows suit, holding Folly's reins and smiling with excitement at Liviel and Morwen - "Lets make sure our presence makes a difference"Revenant wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 9:53 pmThe rogue in the street stops cold at the sight of five riders ahead of him, two of the mounted town guard among them and the man before him threatening to run him down. Re: Gull's Landing
The battle below continues to rage as those above seek a hidden entrance, so far to no avail.
Torvik sees his opportunity, his skill at fighting underground and magical ability of his sword strikes down the fleeing mage. He falls and is still. Thena attempts to rise despite the bulk of her new armor, she turns to face the leering ogre and his companion. Bryne bloodied but unbowed, still reeling from the magical arrows loosed on her by the dark man, manages to deliver a critical blow to the injured ogre, sinking her dagger to the hilt and ripping it free from the ogre's breast who wheezes as he falls from the strike, his eyes going blank as he hits the hard stone floor.
The two remaining ogres move in to attack Thena, the leering one coming within a hair's breath of hitting her while the other misses completely.
The three companions Torvik, Thena and Bryne stand facing the two last remaining foes.
Allies Injured: Bryne -26 (of 30), Thena -1 (of 28), Wilwarin -1 (of 22)
Bryne's dagger attack was a critical and since double was less than the maximum damage the weapon could do, it did 4 damage.

Yes, they are in danger! Ogres! Come, we have reinforcements!
Nis will go and help look for a hidden entrance with the others. Perhaps her elven eyes can catch something.

Re: Gull's Landing
“All shadows of clouds the sun cannot hide
like the moon cannot stop oceanic tide;
but a hidden star can still be smiling
at night's black spell on darkness, beguiling”
~ Munia Khan
As the sleeping rogue is taken into custody, a thorough search is made of the abandoned building for the rogue who fled. He is no where to be found, nor are those who searched the building able to find how he might have escaped. If it was through a hidden door, it must be very well-hidden as neither Niserie or Wilwarin find one. Erel mentions he found two open windows on the rickety second floor, so perhaps he slipped away through one of those egresses.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The leering ogre loses that leer when he is struck by both Bryne and Thena before he can act again. With a loud crash he collapses to the trash ridden stone floor. The remaining ogre is nearly struck by Torvik's attack and surrounded by his dead companions, his only chance of escape apparently sealed by the mage, and that fact the odds are very much against him, since he faces three formidable opponents, decides surrender is favorable to death. He raises his hands, "No more, I am forfeit," his common not perfect but providing the gist of his meaning, "Sisters no be pleased but me not go to mud for dem."
From beyond the room you hear Kade talking to others. Garet, Mave's brother, calls out to you, "Sit tight, we'll have you dug out shortly, we have reinforcements and apparently some old friends of yours." Morwen's voice is heard down the passageway, "Commander, I have not forgotten all I owe you. We will get you out soon."
Erel orders one of the guards that joined them in their ride to go to the nearest post and bring back at least half a dozen guards as he wants the building watched should the rogue return. Then turning to Athan, "Sir...I'm sorry your welcome was less than hospitable."

Re: Gull's Landing
Torvik stands there dumbfounded at the ogre's surrender sword still in hand he stands there briefly confused but none the less on guard. "Well, that'd be a first. Ne'er met an ogre that surrendered afore. Who are these sisters ya mentioned?" he dares ask the ogre.
