Snorri tosses in the last of his gold...leaving a stack of thirteen coins.
That makes the pot at 44gp, 6sp, 2 cp by my count

"I will match friend Xenos' donation. That leaves us with 76 gp, 6 sp and 2 cp. An auspicious number to be sure."

"So...keep an eye out for creepy undead square-headed snake cannibals who worship Cthulhu. Got it. The snake imagery is familiar in this area, with many Great Serpent followers around. A lawful diety, for sure.
"
Kain listens to the tales of lore, soaking it all in. "When we reunite, I'll tell tales of the mines under the sands. Some are forgotten and still full of riches. Do me a favor and keep an eye out for any structures found buried in the sand."
"Another for the seer, I think. Who knows what other visions she'll show us." Kain winks at the large newcomer and tries to organize. "Let's start out in the morning, get a fresh start. Keep an eye on your valuables, of all sorts, tonight. Anyone opposed to sharing the common room?"
"The trek to the mausoleum is around an hour, but I believe it contains more than it seems. Especially coin, as many of us are low. And I owe Maxon here to boot."
Once the six of us agree on the timing and sleeping, I'll move over to the other thread.

Sounds great so far!
If one person from each group wants to keep a tally on gold and whatever items they purchased, that will speed up the process and prevent unnecessary RP shopping in the Bazaar.
Let me know where each group plans on spending the night, and remember to secure your belongings if you are staying in the common rooms of Xambaala.

Cormag will volunteer to add his remaining coin (3GP and change) to the Mausoleum party's kitty, once he has subtracted out payment for the night's lodging and meal.

Snorri
The Viking will stay and drink till it’s time to hit the sack in the common room, items secured. (Apologies all around for his loud snoring) With the arrival of morning, barring any unforeseen issues, Snorri will first head for the bazaar looking for any information on the location of the lost fortress. He’ll check the stalls for those selling antiquities before moving on to the guild halls of the merchants and caravans for surely the fortress was along a road or crossroad at one time. It takes men and supplies to service a fortress and such logistics was written down.

"If we are in a common room, we can take turns on watch, guarding each other. I'm for that," Ceana says with a yawn. "As long as I don't have first watch," she concludes, bleary-eyed.Monsieur Rose wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 6:30 pm Kainaxarthos

Winter is coming...
Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Tuurma agrees to the common room if they take turns to keep watch as Ceana suggests. Before they leave in the morning she purcheses some rope at 1.5x list price.
ready to move to the Mausoleum thread if you are

Valkrina
I can do some of the shopping for a basic team expedition kit (see ooc), leaving you guys to sort rations and Waterskins out. I can buy a couple of cheap weapons for folk as well (a spear and sling).
Check out the ooc. If that is fine, I am ready to go when all done.

"We'll assume no more than two days out and back. Let's meet up after at The Luck and reserve our places in the common room."

A watch rotation in the common room, with the group isolated in one area, works for him. They can keep an eye on valuables and other goings on.

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
We can hand wave most of this shopping/sleeping RPing in order to get back to the action sooner. If you still want to retcon something in before you head out, go for it.
After drinks, food, and much discussion, the one large group breaks away into their smaller factions to tackle individual tasks.
Shopping for gear is accomplished and space in the common rooms are acquired for the evening. Anyone asking around about the Warlords Stronghold is told that it’s only a myth, told to foolish adventurers so they buy more rations. One old crone selling glass baubles tells you there actually is a Stronghold, filled with filthy slaves, the same ones who are causing all the trouble out in the desert at night. There are no records of its existence to be found in any of the guilds or caravanserai. (that was a great idea, though)
Again, once the Eventide bell is rung, around 8pm, the inner city nearly empties. Slaves return to their areas in the Old City, while anyone with any common sense gets off the streets and behind the safety of locked doors.
More howling, chanting, and disturbing drumming can be heard on the distant air throughout the dark night, coming from deeper in the desert.
Once I find some better wi-fi, I will start up a new thread for the desert group. The Mausoleum group can head over there again, if they like. (sorry, but this will be a bit disorganized like this until I return since trying to link back and forth between different tabs is proving to be a nightmare right now) If there are any more shopping/resting/researching ideas before you leave, please continue that here for now. Thanks!

Xenos
Is it possible to work out rough distance and direction of the Croc oasis from Xambaala and can Drest remember the rough direction of the footsteps? Xenos is trying to work out if they might be heading in vaguely the right direction as it's the only hint we have.
Is there somewhere in the city that might give you a decent view of the north to see any lights or get a direction for the noises?

The tracks at the oasis lead north-ish.
He currently has no access to the higher floors of any buildings, but he could ask around enough to learn that the fires seen at night out in the desert are spotted towards the north.

"It sounds like we could try following the tracks route and most likely it will take us to the fires. I think that is what my vision was of, no idea if that is the stronghold or not. But it is something strange and dangerous."
