That is amazing. And it shoots any kind of steel or iron object, up to a certain diameter. Weighs 20 lbs though.

Yeah, and it doesn't shoot them very fast and has horrible efficiency. I imagine the battery runs down super fast. But it's a freaking man-portable gauss rifle. My inner kid from the 70's and 80's is geeking out so hard right now.

:) Well, who doesn't want something that hyper-accelerates projectiles with magnetic fields along a completely frictionless pathway? :) U.S. Navy ships have gauss guns now, right? Or still not implemented? I read an SF war novel long ago where all of the infantrymen had gauss rifles. I completely don't remember the author or title. Any clues, anyone? It was a pretty good one.

The film Eraser had a gauss rifle / rail gun as one of the central concept pieces. It shot "aluminum projectiles" at"nearly the speed of light" which just felt absurd on a number of levels.

I know of sea-borne and air-borne trials from several years back. I don't think anyone actually has one that is in service.

Can Emile get in through the front of the building? I believe the door was crushed or something but I’m not sure.

Yes. He can enter through the hole the truck punched in the front-side of the building.

The steel front door is still intact and barred from inside. (Taavi is trapped just inside it, between the wall, door, bar, and fanged opponent.)

The rest of the front wall was plate glass strip mall windows, covered over with plywood, then shattered by the truck. So, messy but passable.

The back end of the flatbed truck is jutting through the wall, the front cab still just outside.

I think this might be our best shot to finish the demon women and Peytr (I don't think I've spelled his name the same way twice in a row!) once and for all. But I'm not sure how badly banged up everyone is. Hansel is down below half. If we're badly hurt, going somewhere to lick our wounds isn't a bad call.

So sorry... figuring out loot rules in SWN required some real brain power and I couldn't really tackle it until my brain fog cleared. Everyone's feeling better now.

I'm having the same trouble with the Worlds Without Number rules. Not very well organized and kind of rambly. Great to hear you're all well again, Marullus.

New post is up!

I marched you forward a few steps there just to expedite, since I have been so poor on my post time. I made the decision for you that you'd hear the pitch rather than open fire pre-emptorily, and am glossing over if Shadrach is charmed enough to try to stop you if you open fire. Please forgive me. I hope the decision points I move you to are more worthwhile.

Post is up. I went down hard with COVID last Monday and have been asleep most of the week. It's really tough for me to get the headspace to move this ahead, but I am trying so we don't lose more momentum. I'll try to be more responsive this week.

Unplug the portal? Or go through? Hansel would vote for unplug, he's banged up pretty good from the shotgun hit to his chest upstairs. If we send people through, we would need a strict timer to get back, as well as someone to secure this end. Also, we still have a few demon women and at least one (two) human thugs around here somewhere, unless they went through.
