Saracen enters the room, currently carrying the lit head in the sack, the glass tube of pink powder, and the tiny box with the inscription on it. He answers Lerrick gruffly. "How do you know the severed head will still turn something to stone? Did you try it? Will you attempt to look into its dead eyes yourself? Or should I do that too?"
The cleric looks the warrior priest in the eye.
It's just a hunch. I believe the same is true with the medusa if it were to open its eyes. Just have it ready in case we need it. The cleric thinks for a moment.
Speaking of the medusa, why don't we chop it to pieces so that it can't ever be revived.
because if you touch it, she will come to life and kill you.

Andronichishche continues to scribe esoteric equations onto the phantasmal blackboard of his dream shrouded mind. Several different permutations of the Identify spell stretched from one end of the ethereal slate to the other. These particular equations were based on those he was already musing for use on the carnivorous trees awaiting the group outside.
However, instead of focusing on the physical abilities of a subject, the formulae now occupying his attention were oriented towards an analysis of the mind. An assay of the ego. The sense of self. The dissociation of thought he was experiencing in this lucid dream state closely mirrored that which he felt while staring into the black anomaly. In this place though, the remarkably useful fabrication of a reconstructed memory, he was in full control of his faculties. He could sense his brain and the thoughts within as a warm breeze would feel flowing across his skin. If he could but project his thoughts, his ego, beyond the confines of his brain, he theorized it may be possible to intersect with the psyche of another mind!
He was confident that achieving the correct state of concentration would simulate the dissociation of consciouness required for such a spell to work. The challenge now is to develop an arcane framework to bolster his psyche, allowing him to project his ego and merge it with another's mind. Thus he could view it as one would view the contents of an aquarium ... gently gliding across the contours of the brain and feel the natural projection of thought radiating from the mind.
Assuming he awakens and is able to complete his research there is also the subject of, well, finding a suitable subject. Anybody would suffice, but he wasn't entirely sure the process would be painless.
Theoretically, it is ...
Probably ...

Maag
"Annuver riddle?" Maag looks over at Andron. "Are we sure dat 'e is unconscious? Somebody give 'im a couple of slaps. 'e might wake up", he says hopefully.
After a few moments he comes up with an idea of his own. "Did we find anyfink dat looked like a bull? Not a minotaur. A bull. Was der a wall carvin' or anyfink like dat?"
"Der is der ring of stones outside, but I don't fink it is talkin' about dat...'ang on a minute...I 'ope dat bleedin' amulet was not der ring..." Maag grimaces.

Continuing to search, "Very important, it could be a particular statue of a Minotaur, I don't recall any rings but something to keep in mind. I believe he was breaking up a statue of a Minotaur and somehow turning it back to flesh for a food source. Interesting feeding mechanism. hacking up the Medusa is fine with me."

Carucenus keeps standing guard. He smiles at himself at Mina's finding.

Alordan also asks, "Did we search that stone bastard after we defeated him? Did he have a ring on?" He'll go check if no one did and it isn't a problem with the light coverage.

Revelations
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Dank, Damp, Depressing
Lerrick wisely suggests chopping up the dead body of the medusa in the next chamber. Tlachtga agrees, but Gramble seems apprehensive, afraid it will come back to life somehow if touched. Alordan is glad to see the newcomer helping as best she can, but doesnt appreciate finding another question around every corner of this accursed place. The druid lays out an idea that the monster they just killed was somehow living off of the flesh of dead minotaurs, which causes Mina to retch slightly and confess.
"Raw meat was the only thing it gave us to eat in here. Raw meat and water," she sobs.
"What was that thing, anyway. Does anyone know?" If the monster was able to turn living things to stone, was it also able to return stone back into living flesh? Perhaps the poor statue of Cresty will never know the truth now.
Talk of rings and bulls heads dominates the next minute of conversation as the party continues to shuffle through the debris in the room. Maag reminds everyone about the dais in the entrance cave, remembering a bulls head etched within its magic symbols. Gramble asks about the little box they found, but doesn't remember if it was ever checked yet. Saracen steps up holding both items out to the others.
"I dont think smarty pants ever let anyone open it yet. Go ahead if you want. Not my expertise."
Alordan moves over to check on the headless beast they killed, still stuck half way into the stone floor. The ranger doesn't see any rings on the stony monster, but half of it is now encased in stone, making it difficult to tell. Carucenus can hear the unconscious Andron at his feet mumbling something that sounded like the word psionics over and over.

Alordan will investigate the well a little more thoroughly. How far down is the water level? Can he tell how deep the water is? He'll try dropping a stone into the water to get an idea. "Mina, did you drink from this do you remember?"

Carucenus raises an eyebrow. "Um?" Then he kneels next to Andron and moves his ear closer.

Let me have the powder and the liquid. I will pour the liquid into the glass tube and gently mix it, then pour it on the paladin's body. What have we got to lose in trying this?

Tlachtga and Cu stay back and away from those mixing things,"Mina, you may want to back up away from there for a minute or two."

i dont think pouring any liquid will reverse the state of petrification, it makes no clinical sense. I still must assume each ingredient is meant to be used separately and we should wait until they can be identified

Saracen gladly hands over the items to Lerrick when she asks, though the others caution her heavily about mixing anything together after the explosion with the scroll tube. The two new members keep their distance after Tlachtgas warning.
Alordan looks into the well, finding fresh cool spring water inside, much like the basin in Cora’s chamber. Dropping a pebble into it reveals that it isn’t a well at all, but a deep smooth tube theat leads off in that direction. Mina replies. “Yes, we drank from that water every day. It was the best part about our stay here.”

After stowing her mace the cleric takes the two items from the warrior priest, she turns to Gramble
Gramble, besides being an expert in splitting skulls with your axe, what makes you an expert on Medusas? How do you know that the Medusa would come to life if we cut it up? Looking at the vial and the box continuing the liquid.
Who do you know back at the island who can identify this?

Alordan looks around for a bucket or something to pull some water up. Based on the tube, does it appear to head towards the one where Cora lived?

being an expert in splitting skulls makes me an expert on dead things. I am remembering when we returned and dead cora certainly had no problem popping back up to attack us.
of course maybe the ring for the bulls nose is somewhere on the medusa. a wedding ring or something
