This is the reference to the letters.
OGRE MAGE wrote:As Tlachtga moves closer to cover the head of the long dead medusa, she notices something very strange. Directly in the center of the woman's wrinkled up forehead is an odd marking of some kind. It appears to be an old branding or a pronounced birthmark of some kind. The mark forms the letters M S.

Or are you referring to Cora's journal?

Carucenus just keeps standing guard while he lets the others do the searching. "Are you feeling better now, Mina? He doesn't say anything to Tlachtga's suggestion, preferring to hear before the others' opinions. He's just a newcomer anyway and doesn't feel like he has a say.

Ah, yes. He would have a theory about that, but can't share it at the moment.

Maag

"Der are a couple of more tunnels we can still check just over der", says Maag, pointing. "Why don't we just 'ave a look in der before we go?"

"If der is a big pile of loot, we can load up an' go 'ome. People dat want to solve der mystery can still come back later. If der is no treasure in either of dem, we can go 'ome an' decide if we want to come back later to keep lookin'".

Inside the buried silver coffer we found the explosive scroll tube, the vial of magical dust, and a tiny decorative box. The latter has an inscription in an unknown language (needed a comprehend languages spell to read). The box itself has a rubber seal and appears to contain some kind of liquid.

Lerrick

The cleric nods with Maag's suggestion. I agree. Let's check the rest of the rooms and then head back. We can come back to figure out the rest of the mysteries. I don't think anything will change in the next 3 days...well...maybe not.

Gruesome Revelations
Freeday, 19th of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Dank, Damp, Depressing

Mina nods her head at Carucenus, looking a little less frightened, but also very ready to depart this dungeon of horror. Leaving the pristine funeral chamber just as they found it, except for Tlachtga's cloak that still covers the dead medusas horrid face, the group decides to check out the rest of tunnels they have discovered before leaving again.

Alordan looks over at the druids torch and makes sure that more than one person has a light source out before they go any further. Creeping up the next tunnel, they find the stone blockage at the end of the passage, and 2 more rooms that must have once been additional living areas. Now both chambers are stripped clean of anything that was ever in them, leaving nothing but dust and some stone rubble on the floors of each. Looking around for secret doors or passages in either area turns up nothing.

When the group moves into the final tunnel, they find another much larger chamber that is likely filled with the missing items from the other rooms. The two words that describe what they see in here are utter and destruction. The entire chamber is filled wall to wall with debris, broken furniture, smashed statuary, ripped up clothing, and many other apparently discarded items. The place reeks of rotting flesh, and in one small area deeper in lies the evidence of something horrible as blood and guts adorn the stone floor there.

Insane scribbling is scattered all over the walls in this room, some of it similar to what you have seen before, but there are other phrases that you haven't seen yet. Whatever happened in here, this room will take hours if not days to search entirely.

Maag

Maag stops as he sees the debris-filled room. "OH F.....er cryin' out loud!" He closes his eyes and puts one hand over his face. He rubs his brow for a few seconds then turns to face the others.

"Right den. I reckon we 'ave got two choices".

"First, we can search dis place for der rest of der day an' see what we find. If der is more to search tomorrow, den we can come back."

"Or we can just call it a day 'ere an' come back tomorrow anyway. Either way der lads in der boat are gonna be 'ittin us for more money tomorrow."

"Personally, I reckon we should find what we can today. A bird in der 'and and all dat".

Lerrick

Adventurer lesson number one: Never deny the fighter a chance to receive loot. She shakes her head and smiles. I could use a few coins myself. The cleric pulls a glow stone out of her pouch and holds it with her left hand and moves stuff around on the floor with her mace tightly gripped with her right hand.

Tlachtga

"OK, lets get to it then." She begins to search, Cu at her side in case he notices anything (other than tasty stuff anyways).
