Carucenus' eyebrows raise as he hears what Mina tells him. "Well, that's interesting. This monster is dead and we still may have some time to take something with us... We came after treasure after all, and we knew what we were risking..." He looks at Sister Theresa's body. "Talking about time, Tlachtga, I have five torches with me, so that'll give us some more extra time." He than looks at the grate. "Just say the word and I'll lend my hand in opening that grate." He friendly rubs Mina's back before stading up, as if showing himself ready for any task.

Maag

"Ah, traps...yeah", says Maag, fishing in his belt pouch for various objects and getting ready to poke around.

Hearing the words of the tattered woman with Carucenus, the others rethink their desire to leave so quickly. Tlachtga warns the others about the light situation, but with her torch and the four newly found light stones, the room is still quite well lit.

Maag approaches the iron grate that just crushed his buddy Andron, looking it over with his expert eye but finding no reason to believe it is trapped in any way. Lifting it back up together, the burly men have no problem raising the heavy obstacle, allowing them free passage into the chamber beyond.

The female figure on the stone slab was laid to rest here with obvious reverence, her silky dress still pressed and clean after the ravages of what must be countless years. Her skin is desiccated so badly that she is really nothing more than a crunchy shell. Several snake skins sprout from the dead figures head that spread across the top of the stone slab. Her horridly ugly face is shrived badly and her eyes are closed tight. The room is completely void of anything other than the slab and its contents.

Mina whispers again. "It went in there a lot."

Alordan keeps his distance as he looks over the creature. He turns to the more 'direct' members of the group and suggests quietly, "If there is a head to be removed - that may be one. We don't want that creature coming back to life to settle any scores."

Tlachtga

Tlachtga covers the body's face with her fur cloak. "Lets search the room well and see what we find." Tlachtga searches around, keeping Cu close by and paying attention to his reactions.

Maag

Maag stays near the doorway and waits for a while after Tlachtga throws her cloak over the corpse's face. He decides to give it a while to react before he moves further in, and takes out his mirror once again.

As Tlachtga moves closer to cover the head of the long dead medusa, she notices something very strange. Directly in the center of the woman's wrinkled up forehead is an odd marking of some kind. It appears to be an old branding or a pronounced birthmark of some kind. The mark forms the letters M S.

Once he head is covered, the group begins searching the room. Cu sniffs and slobbers around the area, but fails to come up with anything to bark about.

The walls, floor, and ceiling are tapped on and then searched extensively, but noting hidden is found on any of them.

Alordan asks about the journal as he doesn't remember what it says, just the box message. "Maybe that powder stuff we found was something to bring her back to life or something?"

"Why inscribe or burn or whatever into her forehead? Preparing for ritual of some sort maybe?"

Tlachtga pulls the cloak cover the rest of the way over the long dead woman's head, wondering if the letters she found were some kind of weird branding ritual. A few others reference the letters, a journal, and the pink powder, wondering if there is some kind of a correlation. Carucenus stands guard while Maag reluctantly checks over the funeral slab. He finds nothing but solid stone up and down the sides, front, and back of the occupied slab. Seeing the old woman lying upon the top of the slab reminds Maag of his aging girlfriend back in town. :?

Saracen stays in the main chamber, watching over their statue, their invalid, and their recent rescue all at once.

Tlachtga

"I think it may be time to head back. We can come back here and search some more once we are rested up and in better shape."
