"I see no reason to start a fight if we don't have to," ventures Kurot. "Unless we think they'd just set an ambush for us later. Or if they have things we need, I suppose. Or to convince them that we are not easy prey. Or—well, okay, I can think of several reasons we might start a fight. The question is: do we?"

"Should we offer them some food and talk with them?"

We could offer to sell them food at a reasonable rate, although I don't trust them not to try and take it, either now or later"

"You mean...try to make friends with them? That's a radical approach," answers Kurot.

Parley? That's worked before, but I'm concerned with what Silvestri reported. I say that if we do, we have someone covering those who attempt diplomacy, suggests Denslow.

The Long Route, Day 98 out of Loge Thantos, Day 8 out of Hagalton
The group moves forward to around 30 yards away, before they stop again. The center figure continues, alone, and stops 10 yards from your band.
“Salutations from the wandering … endless wisps of regions vast … and wretched,” he shouts. “May we, my companions and I, beg mercy of you and … yours to spare a minor, rejuvenating portion of yours and you … vast wealth on such a mobile … nation so us are able to spare the underworld’s tow … and nourish our weary bones?”

His manner and pace of speech echoes their delirious appearance. No one utters a sound, save the mutant monkey chatter and the regular ‘plop, plop, plop’ of the dark man’s bag toss.

Denslow says, Who are you that travel these wastes without adequate nourishment? Can you trade goods or services for our largesse? We have come of them through toil and trouble.
Would you be satisfied if we told you of a group of slaughtered pigmon and their mounts, which you may nosh on to your hearts' desires?

Kurot, being an android, has no need of food, and thus has no food to share. But the parley stirs vague memories of having eaten, so long ago he can't remember anything more than vague impressions. The words "macrobiotic," "sous vide," and "artisan" flash through his memory banks for reasons he cannot begin to explain.

“Pigmonn, you say?” The man on the right suddenly blurts out.

“Toil and trouble? … Combat double?” He stops tossing the bag, and rubs his forehead as he looks beyond you. His maniacal grin replaced by worry and fear.
You hear the squeals of pigmonn warriors behind you. Looking for the pigmonn, you see Belial circling in the air just over 300 yards away above a group of 20-30 pigmonn warriors in a full charge!

Denslow plucks an explosive fruit.
How about we help each other out? You help us kill pigmonn, and we give you a bite to eat. Sound good?
He will toss a fruit as soon as a pigmonn is in range. (
If this is a later round, please save the action and apply then. Thanks.)
Denslow Initiative [1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19
Denslow "Gala" explosive apple mutation check [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12 Good enough, no luck burn.

The charging pigmonn troop spreads out in a line 10 wide, three ranks deep. The squeals and bellows of "Or-keen, or-keen, or-keen!" ripple across the desert floor. You can see the reflections of their blades from almost 300 yards away, rattling with fury!

The Long Route, Day 98 out of Loge Thantos, Day 8 out of Hagalton
Combat, Round 1
Blixx and Silvestri aim their rifles at the oncoming pigmonn. Frank draws his bow and prepares to fire. Kurot decides to advance forward and engage in hit and run tactics. All others hold and wait for a better opportunity to attack the orks.
From behind, the blue dwarf moves forward and attacks Bruce with his segmented energy whip! (INIT = 22)
The martial arts synthetic dodges to the side and avoids the crackling weapon!

The wild-haired man who first spoke, lowers his ink black staff and points it directly at Blixx (INIT = 19). Two blue energy blasts burst forward out of the irregular, top end of the staff and strike the mothish mutant center of mass! (DMG 61 – DEAD!) Blixx convulses in agony and drops where he stood, a smoldering pile of charred flesh!
Sorry, man. Both the attack and damage rolls were excellent.

Combat Details:
Bruce, Denslow and Kurot may modify their actions before the third person (the dark man with the mutant monkeys) acts (INIT = 16).
Once this happens, I will post this person’s actions and then all others may change their action or leave as currently posted.
